He was a Retired Chief Petty Officer with the US Navy and had been a Cabinet Maker with the Cabinet Maker's Union, Local #1635. He had served in World War II, and the Korean Conflict, and was involved in the search for Amelia Earhart in 1937 on the USS Colorado. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association for over 40 years; and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Elizabeth; 2 brothers, Joseph, and John; and a sister, Anna Pearl. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Irene Moore, of the home; 6 children, James M., Wanda K., Michael D., Timothy D., Joseph W., and John T.; 2 sisters, Frances Smith, Margaret Metz; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
