Charley Wayne Wolf, 87, formerly of Kildare, died Wednesday, March 21, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Local graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, in Newkirk Cemetery. A vigil service was held at 7 p.m. today at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and funeral services in Cedar Rapids, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Rev. Richard Ament, minister of St. Jude's Catholic Church, officiating.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Miller-Stahl Funeral Service, Newkirk.

Doris Elaine Cole, 56, Colorado Springs, Colo., died Friday, May 23, 2003, at the Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Church of the Nazarene in Udall. Interment will be in the Udall Cemetery. The casket will be open prior to the service at the church. A memorial has been established with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation of San Diego. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hawks Funeral Home, Wellington.

Donald B. Snyder, 95, Burden, lifelong Cowley County resident, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at William Newton Hospital in Winfield. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today. A memorial has been established for the Burden United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service, Winfield.

Mike D. Rottmayer, 74, Arkansas City, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center in Arkansas City.

Services are pending and are under the direction of the Hawks Funeral Home.

Flora Rausch, 81, formerly of Arkansas City, died Monday, May 26, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Funeral services were private.

Arrangements were under the direction of Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, Las Vegas.

Lyle Cody King, 20, Winfield, died Monday, June 2, 2003 in a traffic accident. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the First Assembly of God Church in Winfield. Interment will be in the Floral Cemetery. Friends may call at the Swisher-Taylor Morris Funeral Home, Winfield, from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003. A memorial has been established with CASA of Cowley County. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Swisher-Taylor Morris Mortuary, Winfield.

Lela M. Gardiner, 95, Oxford, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center in Arkansas City.

Services are pending and are under the direction of the Oxford Funeral Service, Oxford.

Peggy Rae Locke, 62, formerly of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Friday, May 30, 2003 at St. Mary Medical Center, Long Beach, California. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the Miller Stahl Funeral Chapel in Newkirk with the Reverend Kerney Graham officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller-Stahl Funeral Service, Newkirk, Oklahoma.

Harold "Bus" Kirkendall, 77, long time Newkirk, Oklahoma resident, died Monday, June 2, 2003 in the Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2003, with Danny W. Cornish, minister of the Newkirk Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in the Newkirk Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller Stahl Funeral Service, Newkirk.

Robert Everett Biddle, 68, Burden, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Oxford. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, June 6, 2003 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, June 7, 2003 from 9 a.m. to noon. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Lela Martha Gardiner, 95, Oxford, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center, Arkansas City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the United Methodist Church in Oxford. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established with the United Methodist Church and the Oxford Friendship Meals. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Donald Wayne Knouf, 74, Arkansas City, died Sunday, June 8, 2003 at the Via Christi Medical Center-St. Frances Campus in Wichita. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 2p.m in the Riverview Cemetery with Mr. Jesse Kindred officiating. A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.

Lucy Lee Payne, 93, Kansas City, Missouri, died Sunday, June 8, 2003. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003 at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 13 in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Arkansas City. Interment will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorials have been established with the St. Luke Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, Missouri and the North Kansas City Cardiac Palliative care. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

William Virgil Dye, 87, Winfield, died Sunday, June 8, 2003 at his home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2003 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Military and Masonic committal services will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 11 and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 12. Family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday. A memorial has been established with the American Legion Post #10 in Winfield. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Graveside services for Mike "Dee Rottmayer, 74, Arkansas City, who died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2003 at the Riverview Cemetery. The Reverend Henry Cox officiated. Special music included "In the Garden," "Amazing Grace," "The Wind Beneath My Wings" and "One Sweet day."

Arrangements were under the direction of the Hawks Funeral Home, Arkansas City.

Jack C. Allen, Newkirk, died Sunday, June 8, 2003 in the Shawn Manor, Ponca City. Funeral services ill be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at the Newkirk First United Methodist Church with the Reverend James Hollifield officiating. Interment will be in the Newkirk Cemetery with members of the American Legion performing military rites. Friends may call until 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the funeral home. A memorial has been established with the St. Jude's Childrens' Cancer Research. Contributions may be made through the Eastman National Bank, Box 468, Newkirk, Oklahoma, 74647-0468.

Bob R. Donelson, 84, Sedan, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at the Sedan City Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, in the Dexter Cemetery, Dexter. Friends may call on Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at he David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.

Oma Lou Beattie, Emporia, died Saturday, May 31, 2003, in Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held t 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the Flint Hills Christian Church, 1836 East Highway 50, Emporia. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 t the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Arkansas City.

Anton Andrew "Tony" Leven, 105, died Friday, May 30, 2003 in the Newkirk Nursing Center in Newkirk, Oklahoma. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 in the St. Frances of Assisi Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2003, at St. Frances Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Newkirk Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the St. Frances Catholic Church. Contributions may be made through the Eastman national Bank, P.O. Box 468, Newkirk, Oklahoma 74647-0468.

Donald G. Fowler, 80, of Arkansas City, died Friday (May 30, 2003) at his residence. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday (June 7, 2003) At the Central Christian Church. The Reverend Steve Chambers and Mr. Jesse Kindred will officiate. Mr. Fowler,s body was donated to the University of Kansas School of Medicine. A memorial has been established with the Shriner,s Plane of Mercy. Contributions may be made through funeral home.

Mabel L. Morris, 89, Arkansas City, died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at the Medicalodge North Post Acute Center of Arkansas City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2003 at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home Chapel with he Revered Sheila Ratlaff officiating. Interment will be in the Newkirk City Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the St. Paul United Methodist Church of Arkansas City. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Fowler, 80, of Arkansas City, who died Friday, May 30, 2003 were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the Central Christian Church. with the Reverend Steve Chambers and Mr. Jesse Kindred officiating. Organist was Shirley Morrison. Vocalist was Debbie Morrow Ingram. Special music included "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "This is all I Ask." Military committal was by the Spencer Ralston VFW Post #1254. Commander was Bob Banta. Chaplain was Alyce Harris. Color Guard were Bob Baughman and Jimmy Simpson. Color bearers were Darrell Rolland and Keith Crain
