Geraldine T. Bragg, 91, Leavenworth, KS died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 411 Kiowa, Leavenworth, KS. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie, KS.

Mrs. Bragg was born January 13, 1916 in Tonganoxie, KS the daughter of William and Martha (Davis) Woods. She was a 1941 graduate of the University of Kansas, Lawrence. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Leavenworth. In 1981, she retired as Editor for the writing and publishing branch of the Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth. She was united in marriage December 14, 1986 to Thomas Bragg. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Arrangements are entrusted to Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS.

May Boyd Pittman

May Boyd Pittman, 95, McLouth, KS died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at her home.

Memorial services will be held in Denver, CO in the spring.

May was born July 4, 1911 in Denver, CO, the daughter of John and Daisy (Catt) Boyd. She was a member of Edgewater United Methodist Church, Edgewater, CO and had retired as a luggage inspector for Samsonite Co., Denver, CO. Her husband, Albert E. Pittman, preceded her in death in 1986.

Survivors include her son, James Pittman, Denver, CO; daughter, Betty Englen, McLouth, KS; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Friends of Hospice of Jefferson County % Quisenberry Funeral Home, Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.

Peggy M. Lamb

Peggy M. Lamb, 71, Tonganoxie, KS died Saturday, February 03, 2007 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Tonganoxie Christian Church. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.

Peggy was born October 2, 1935 in Leavenworth, KS, the daughter of Foster and Vera (Verhage) Cook. She was a 1953 graduate of Tonganoxie High School and a member of Tonganoxie Christian Church. On May 6, 1956, she was united in marriage to Merle D. Lamb. He preceded her is death July 12, 1994.

She is survived by her son, Gary Lamb, Tonganoxie, KS; daughter, Cindy Dennis, Kirkwood, LA and four grandchildren.

Mary Magdalene Curry

Mary Magdalene Curry, 91, Ft. Worth, TX, formerly of Tonganoxie, KS, died Saturday February 10, 2007 in Ft. Worth.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday February 16, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lawrence, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Basehor, KS.

Mary was born December 17, 1915 in Billings, MT, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Flaherty) Flynn. She was a Registered Nurse for 43 years and also worked as an Inspector for the State of Kansas. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie, KS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Edward Curry on July 29, 1986. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Theno, Quincy, MO and Kathleen Hadley, Tonganoxie, KS; two sons, Tim Curry, Tonganoxie, KS and Tom Curry, Saginaw, TX; 2 half sisters, Pam Krupika, Waco, TX and Thai Knecht, Downers Grove, Illinois; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Robert Lee Hansen

Robert Lee Hansen, 92, Tonganoxie, KS died Thursday February 15, 2007 in Lawrence, KS.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2007 at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in McLouth Cemetery, McLouth, KS. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Quisenberry Chapel.

Robert was born September 10, 1914 in Tonganoxie, KS, the son of Peter and Mary (Bryan) Hansen. He was a farmhand and worked 14 years for Jefferson County Highway Department. On September 1, 1940, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Beatty. She preceded him in death in 2006.

Survivors include his son, William Hansen, McLouth, KS; two daughters, Esther McKinsey and Shirley Gleason, both of Lawrence, KS; sister, Esther Adolphson, Tahlequah, OK; 4 grandchildren and 3 great -grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Audio Reader at the University of Kansas c/o QFH, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.

Donna Lois Chapman

Donna Lois Chapman, 79, Tonganoxie, KS died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at her home.

Donna has bequeathed her body to medical science. Burial will be held later at the National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.

Donna was born January 14, 1928 in Desoto, KS, the daughter of Vernon Leslie and Pearl June (Warsop) Ashlock. In 1945, she graduated from Westport High School, Kansas City, MO and in 1949, from Kansas State University, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She was a member of Tonganoxie United Methodist Church and was a good and faithful worker at Good Shepherd Thrift Shop for many years. On August 27, 1950, she was united in marriage to Charles R. “Dick” Chapman. He survives of the home.

Dick and Donna are survived by three children; Cathy L. Chapman and husband, Raymond Kuntz, Lake Lotawana, MO, Richard G. “Rick” Chapman and wife, Melanie, Tonganoxie and E Charles “Chuck” Chapman II, Lawrence, KS; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Her beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Lynne Bartlett, preceded her in death.

Memorials are suggested to the Tonganoxie United Methodist Church, American Lung Association or Best Friends Animal Society % Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.

Doris Mae Davis

Doris Mae Davis, 81, Tonganoxie, KS, died Wednesday February 21, 2007 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday February 23, 2007 at Mt. Hope Chapel, Topeka, KS. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS.

Doris was born on May 7, 1925, in Lyndon, KS, the daughter of Joseph and Alta (Swan) Kuykendall. She worked as an Accounting Clerk for 27 years, for the State of Kansas, Topeka, and retired in 1987. Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church, Tonganoxie, KS. She was united in marriage to Chester Edward Davis on May 15, 1948 in Emporia, KS. She was preceded in death by her brother Edward Lee Kuykendall.

Survivors include her husband, Chester, of the home; two sons, Chester E. Davis and wife, Janice, Osage City, KS and Gary Davis and wife, Donna, Tonganoxie; and 3 grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the donor’s choice, c/o QFH, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.

Albert H. Brady

Albert H. Brady, 76, Kansas City, KS, died March 7, 2007 at Overland Park Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday March 12, 2007 at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS, with visitation one hour before. Burial will be in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Kansas City, KS.

Albert was born on September 27, 1930 in Salina, KS, the son of William and Elsie (Buck) Brady. He was united in marriage to Veronica Babics on October 10, 1955 in Salina, KS. He worked as a switchman for the Union Pacific Railroad from 1951-1992, and had also served in the US Army. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kansas City, KS.

Survivors include his wife, Veronica, of the home; son, Charles Brady and wife Sherry, Tonganoxie, KS; 2 daughters, Shirley Barbarich and husband Mike, Bonner Springs, KS and Linda Ann Brady, Kansas City, KS; 8 grandchildren, Michael and wife Megan, Jake, Jerritt, Matthew, Christopher, Robert and Ashley.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association c/o Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at Overland Park Regional Hospital ICU Unit, for their continued support to their family.

William M. Newby

William M. Newby, 80, Leavenworth, KS, died March 21, 2007 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.

Funeral Services will be 6:30 p.m. Monday March 26, 2007 at McLouth Church of the Nazarene, McLouth, KS. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS.

Mr. Newby was born October 8, 1926 in Kansas City, MO, the son of William J. and Ruth (Wickham) Newby. He was united in marriage to Margaret Foster. He served 21 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1965 as a Chief Fire Control Technician.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; 2 sons, Dan Newby and Kevin Campbell; 7 daughters, Connie Waters, Tess Newby, Lora Dranszewski, Leslye Lauer, Charity Newby, Lynda Spencer and Karen Campbell; and 10 grandchildren.

Brad Louis Towell

Brad Louis Towell, 58, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Friday, March 23,2007 at his home.

Graveside service will be 10 am Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.

Brad was born September 22, 1948 the son of Charles and Wilma (Plog) Towell, in Highland, Illinois. He was a US Marine Corp veteran and worked for the Labors Union #1290 Kansas City, KS.

He is survived by two brothers, Kevin Towell, Tonganoxie, KS, and Charles Towell, Larange, TX; one sister, Dana Hamel, Greenville, IL; one son, Christopher Towell, Rochester, IN; two daughters, Heather Tetreau, Pocahontas, IL; and Lisa Freer, Hillsboro, IL; and eight grand children.

Opal “Faye” Pence

Opal “Faye” Pence, 86, Lawrence, KS died Saturday, March 24, 2007 in California, MO.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie, KS. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Faye was born August 12, 1920 in Tonganoxie, KS, the daughter of Fredrick and Elma (Pickens) Kramer. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God, Topeka, KS. She worked for Jayhawk Box Factory and Hallmark Cards, both in Lawrence, KS. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Terry Wayne Pence.

Survivors include her daughter, Violet Faye Gordon, California, MO; her brother, LeRoy Kramer, Rantoul, KS; three sisters, Florence Faler, Lawrence, KS, Gladys Pentlin, Osawattamie, KS, and Irma Groom, Louisburg, KS; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice.
