Albert Skinner
BELLE PLAINE - Albert Junior Skinner, 81, Belle Plaine, died Nov. 20, 1998 at his home.
Graveside services and internment will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 23, 1998 at the Oxford Cemetery
with the Rev. Lawrence Hastings officiating.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Inc. as the family has requested no flowers. Contributions may be left at Oliver-Hawks Funeral Home, Oxford.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday.
Skinner was born Jan. 9, 1917 in Belle Plaine, on the family farm, the son of Albert Carter and Emma Mae Campbell Skinner. He was raised in Belle Plaine and graduated from Belle Plaine High School.
He married Edith Marie Nelson on Feb. 19, 1942, in Oxford. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After being discharged, he returned to Belle Plaine where he and Marie farmed for many years. She died Feb. 13, 1993.
He was a member of the Belle Plaine United Methodist Church and the Belle Plaine American Legion Post.
Survivors include his sons, John Skinner, of the home, and Robert Skinner, Wellington; a daughter, Katherine Curtis, Fort Collins, Colo.; two brothers, Gerald Skinner, and Wendell Skinner, both of Belle Plaine; and one grandson.
Jack Seacat
Services for Jack Leroy Seacat were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 20, 1998, in Rose Valley Cemetery.
Family tributes were given by his granddaughters, Abby Young and Melissa Seacat, and his nephew, Dennis Myers.
Memorials have been established with the Jerry Seacat Memorial Scholarship Fund at Dexter High School and the American Heart Association.
Miles Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Thelma Kisner
ARKANSAS CITY - Thelma Marie Kisner, 89, of Arkansas City, died Nov. 20, 1998, at Medicalodge East.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Rogers Cemetery
near Butler, Mo. Elder Leroy Beckham will officiate.
Memorial contributions can be made to Rogers Cemetery. Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel of Butler is in charge of arrangements.
Kisner was born April 7, 1909, in Bates County, Mo., to Matthew and Lydia (Kipf) Dickens.
On Aug. 24, 1929, she married Don Lee Kisner in Butler, Mo. He died Sept. 17, 1998.
For the past several years, she had resided at Medicalodge East.
Kisner had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Caldwell since 1955.
Survivors include a son, Denver Lee Kisner, Arkansas City; a daughter, Colleen Strange, Butler, Mo.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Ed Steinle
MULVANE - Ed Steinle, 86, of Mulvane, died Nov. 20, 1998, at his home.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 23 at Senter-Smith Mortuary. The Rev. Lee Louderback officiated. Burial was in Mulvane Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with SCCS Hospice and Mulvane United Methodist Church.
Steinle was born Jan. 8, 1912, in Shattuck, Okla., to Godfrey and Julia (File) Steinle. He was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Mulvane Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Steinle, Mulvane; two sons, Earl Steinle, Winfield, and Max Steinle, Mulvane; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ruth Cook
Ruth B. Cook, 78, of 1620 John, Winfield, died Nov. 22, 1998, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery
near Arkansas City.

Cook was born Dec. 31, 1920, near Lockwood, Mo., to Albert and Lucy (Hatfield) Borg. She was raised and educated in Missouri and graduated from Lockwood High School.
For many years she resided in the Ponca City, Okla., area and was employed as a dry cleaning machine operator.
In 1962 she moved to Arkansas City. On Sept. 22, 1962, she married Ocie E. Cook in Miami, Okla. They made their home briefly in Arkansas City before moving to Winfield later that year.
Cook was employed by Winfield State Hospital and Training Center and Beckwith Cleaners. The Cooks also served as foster parents for infants for several years.
She was affiliated with the Southern Baptist Church and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Survivors include her husband, Ocie Cook, Winfield; two daughters, Betty Webber, Winfield, and Mary Cain, Valley Center; a brother, Edward Borg, Lees Summit, Mo.; two sisters, Anna Mae Pickering, Joplin, Mo., and Ada Fay Franklin, Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Craig Brown
PARSONS - Craig Daniel Brown, 27, of Parsons, died Nov. 24, 1998, in Parsons.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Parsons Municipal Auditorium. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery. The procession to the cemetery will be led by the Parsons Fire Department.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
A memorial fund has been established to benefit Brown's children. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
Brown was born March 5, 1971, in Parsons, to Danny and Jane (DuBois) Brown. He graduated from Parsons High School in 1989. During 1988 and 1989 he held national and state power-lifting titles.
On Nov. 9, 1991, he married Kristi Dawn Krokstrom at Parsons.
A lifelong resident of Parsons, he had been employed as a firefighter and emergency medical technician with the Parsons Fire Department since January 1993. Earlier, he had worked a year at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant.
Survivors include his wife, Kristi Brown, and a daughter, Kaylee Dawn Brown, both of Parsons; his parents, Danny and Carla Brown, Parsons, and Jane Warren, Tulsa; and a brother, Scott Baker, a sister, Cathy Martinez, and his grandmother, Catherine Brown, all of Parsons.

Wesley Madison
OXFORD - L. Wesley Madison, 80, of Oxford, died Nov. 25, 1998, at Beaver Creek Village in Milan.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, and a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11, both at Holy Family Church in Pilsen. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery
in Pilsen.
Friends may call at Oliver-Hawks Funeral Home until 8 tonight. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association.
Madison was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Oxford, to James Aaron and Willa Brooksie (Shaffer) Madison.
On July 12, 1948, he married Pauline Makovec in Marion.
They lived in Wichita before moving to Denver where they lived for 20 years. They moved to Oxford 13 years ago.
Mr. Madison had been a parts and service manager for several automobile dealerships.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Oxford.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Madison, Oxford; two sons, Brad Madison, Etterland, Colo., and James Wesley Madison, address unknown; two brothers, James M. Madison, Winfield, and Harold Madison, Tujunga, Calif.; two sisters, Betty Cole, Seattle, Wash., and Wilma Bynum, Dwight; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Violet Speer
EL DORADO - Violet L. Speer, 85, formerly of Dexter, died Nov. 19, 1998, in El Dorado.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Nov. 23, 1998, in Memorial Lawn Cemetery
in Cowley County, south of Strother Field. James French officiated.
Memorials have been established with Hospice Inc. and Home Healthcare of the Susan B. Allen Hospital in El Dorado.
Speer was born April 13, 1913, in rural Winfield, to Albert and Mabel (Fisher) Rowe.
On Jan. 23, 1936, she married Howard O. Speer in Winfield. He died July 13, 1992. The Speers farmed until 1990 when they retired and moved to El Dorado to live near their daughter, Judy Ginder.
Survivors include a son, William Speer, Dexter; two daughters, Judy Ginder, El Dorado, and Islene Roessler, Bentonville, Ark.; and a brother, Paul Lewis Rowe, Sedan; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
