Jewell Blanchard
OKLAHOMA CITY - Jewell Beatrice Davis Blanchard, 90, former Winfield resident, died March 1, 1999, at the Oklahoma City home of her niece, Carolyn Wehba, where she has resided for the past three years.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena, Ark. Burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery
in Mena. Miles Funeral Service of Winfield is in charge of local arrangements.
A memorial has been established with a hospice program of the donor's choice.
Blanchard was born Aug. 15, 1908, in DeLeon, Texas, to Enoch and Esther (Coker) Davis. She was educated in schools in DeLeon, Texas, and Alexander City, Ala.
During the 1960s she moved to Winfield where she was employed as a psychiatric aide at Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.
She married Thomas Blanchard. After his death in 1991, she lived in Arkansas for two years before returning to Village East Apartments in Winfield in 1993.
A member of Tisdale United Methodist Church, she was an active supporter of the Salvation Army.
Survivors include five nieces, Carolyn Lance Wehba, Oklahoma City, Marilyn Lance Krepps, Ponca City, Inez Lance Foster, League City, Texas, Susan Lance, Mena, Ark., and Marquita Davis Manning, Little Rock, Ark.; and five nephews, Myron Lance, Terry Davis and John Davis, all of Mena, Ark., Harold Davis, Greenwood, Ark., and Keith Davis, Little Rock, Ark.
In addition to her husband, Thomas Blanchard, her husbands Willard McKinney, Joe Newman, Lloyd Whisen Hunt and Earnest Laidley preceded her in death.
Stuart Mossman
Services for Stuart Mossman, who died March 2, 1999, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Mossman's daughters will be staying with Craig and Diane Duncan, 814 E. Ninth, before the funeral.
The Mossman family will receive friends at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The family has suggested memorial gifts be made to a charity of the donor's choice in Stuart Mossman's memory.
David Sellers
Memorial services for David Sellers, 54, who died Feb. 27, 1999, were held at 2 p.m. March 3, 1999, at Miles Funeral Service. The Rev. Charles Taff officiated. A private burial service was held in Tisdale Cemetery.
The special vocal music was "In the Garden."
Casket bearers were Sam Butters, Greg McNutt, Kenny McNutt, Steven McNutt, Matthew Meir and Mitchell Meir.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association.
Elizabeth Welch
TOPEKA - Elizabeth Suzanne "Sue" Welch, 77, of Topeka, died March 6, 1999, at a local nursing home. She had been a resident of Topeka since 1980.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Welch was born July 21, 1921, in Independence, to William Herman and Ethel Mildred (Bettes) Wagner.
On Feb. 22, 1943, she married Eugene C. Welch. They later divorced.
Welch had been a housemother at Washburn, Wichita State, Baker and Kansas State universities. She was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church and was involved with Topeka Civic Theatre.
Survivors include two sons, Happy Eugene Welch, Festus, Mo., and Timothy Welch, Winfield; two daughters, Davi Pollock, Independence, and Victoria Suzanne Huff, St. Peter, Minn.; four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
Helen Parker
HOWARD - Helen Ann Parker, 52, of Howard, died March 6, 1999, from injuries received in an auto accident north of Howard.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zimmerman Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Harper will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Howard Twilight Manor. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
Parker was born Aug. 26, 1946, in Odessa, Texas, to Albert Stanley and Ida Belle (Francisco) Womack. She attended schools in Farmington, N.M., and Gillette, Wyo.
Her marriage to Buster Harlow ended in divorce.
She lived and worked in Gillette until moving to Sedan in the early 1980s. She lived at Fall River Lake for a few years before moving to the Howard community.
On Aug. 21, 1993, she married Robert Lee Parker at Howard Twilight Manor. She had been employed there since March 1990.
Parker attended the Baptist Church during her childhood.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Parker, Howard; a daughter, Nancy Peters, Gillette, Wyo.; a stepson, Robert M. Parker, Marysville, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Roberta Deniston, Healy; a brother, Art Womack, Farmington, N.M.; a sister, Clara Worman, Gillette, Wyo.; two grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
Calder Bonfy
ARKANSAS CITY - John Calder Bonfy, 4, son of Devon and Connie Bonfy of Arkansas City, died March 3, 1999, in Arkansas City.
Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial contributions can be sent in his name to the Cowley County Community College Endowment Association.
Calder was born Jan. 11, 1995.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Charles and Jeanne Dumenil, Arkansas City, and Dick and Dolly Bonfy, Winfield; his great-grandfather, Quay "Shorty" Bonfy, Winfield; and his caregivers, Ann Morse and Harriet Hull.
Thomas Mills
DOUGLASS - Thomas Ottwa Mills, 73, of Douglass, died March 2, 1999, in Orange, Calif.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Douglass Christian Church. The Rev. Cliff Muci will officiate. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery.
Friends may call at Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association.
Mills was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Wichita.
A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Army, he owned F&M Box Co. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene G. Mills, Douglass; a son, James Mills, Ashville, Ohio; a daughter, Pamela Mills, Douglass; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Maxine Burton
Maxine D. Burton, 82, of Route 3, Winfield, died March 7, 1999, at her home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and until noon Thursday.
Memorials have been established with Hospice Inc. and the Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
Burton was born Dec. 1, 1916, in Winfield, to Lee Raymond and Edith Cecelia (Carey) Dobson. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1935 and later attended Arkansas City Junior College. As a young woman, she was employed at several Winfield retail stores.
On April 21, 1941, she married John C. Burton at her parents' home in Winfield.
A career military family, the Burtons lived at Air Force and Army bases, including Randolph Air Force Base, Texas; Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona; Eglin AFB, Florida; Bolling AFB, Washington, D.C.; and Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland. They returned to Winfield in 1969 following her husband's retirement.
A homemaker, she took part in Air Force family activities, including military wives' clubs and base youth programs.
Survivors include her husband, John Burton, Winfield; two brothers, LeVerle Kenneth Dobson and Robert Carey Dobson, both of Winfield; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Her daughter, Barbara Maxine Coyne McCune, died Dec. 4, 1996.
Mark Miller
BURDEN - Mark Miller, 37, of Route 1, Burden, died March 7, 1999, at William Newton Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Tisdale United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Tisdale Cemetery.
Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and until 11 a.m. Friday.
Memorials have been established with Tisdale United Methodist Church and the American Heart Association. Contributions can be made through the church or funeral home.
Miller was born Nov. 28, 1961, in Beloit, to the Rev. Lyle and Jean Miller. He was educated in Beloit before graduating from Winfield High School.
Miller had been employed by Sherrard Construction Co., Felts Oil Co. and Range Oil Co., all of Winfield, and Skyline Mobile Home Corp. in Arkansas City. He began employment with Rubbermaid in 1985 and had served the company nearly 14 years as a warehouseman.
On April 15, 1983, he married Kathy Elam at Tisdale. They lived in Winfield before moving to Burden in 1986.
A member of Tisdale United Methodist Church, he was also affiliated with the Winfield Saddle Club and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Miller, a son, Jacob Miller, and a daughter, Jessica Miller, all of Burden; his parents, Lyle and Jean Miller, Woodston; his brothers, David Miller, Winfield, and Jim Miller, Newkirk, Okla.; and a sister, Beth Duncan, Brownburg, Ind.
