Elizabeth Hensley
DOUGLASS - Elizabeth Ann Hensley, 66, retired Boeing cable assembler, of Douglass, died April 23, 1999, at her home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Smith Mortuary in Derby. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery
in Atlanta. The Rev. Ron Keith will officiate.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
Hensley was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Jersey City, N.J. She was a member of the Kansas Paint Horse Association.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Hensley, Douglass; three daughters, Pam Breece, Douglass, Michele Rankin, Andover, and Nicolle Hensley, Hays; a sister, Helen Whitford, Douglass; and one grandchild.
Hazel Isom
DOUGLASS - Hazel Bell Isom, 84, homemaker, of Douglass, died April 21, 1999, at Medicalodge of Douglass.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church. The Rev. Cliff Muci will officiate. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association. Contributions may be made through Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home.
Isom was born Sept. 11, 1914, in Smith County. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Kiley Cochran, Douglass; two brothers, Francis Jack Elliott, Cowles, Neb., and Frank Elliott, Grand Island, Neb.; a sister, Opal Todl, Topeka; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Herman Staton
ARKANSAS CITY - Herman D. Staton, 48, of Arkansas City, died April 22, 1999, at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Riverview Cemetery. The Rev. Guy Rendoff will officiate. Military honors will be provided by Spencer Ralston Post 1254 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Staton was born Jan. 26, 1951, to Alvie and Martha Sydney Mae (Zachary) Staton in Hobart, Okla. When he was 13, the family moved to Los Angeles. He entered the U.S. Marines in 1968.
On July 8, 1972, he married Dianne Bynum in Las Vegas, and they made their home in Los Angeles until moving to Arkansas City in 1974.
Staton was a self-employed mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Staton, Arkansas City; three daughters, Dawna Deuschle and Dana Payette, both of Arkansas City, and Deena Thurber, Winfield; three brothers, Allen Staton, Adam Staton and Andrew Staton, all of Commerce, Calif.; two sisters, Teresa Staton and Michelle Moran, both of Milwaukee; and three grandchildren.
Margaret Wright
SAN ANTONIO - Margaret (Coleman) Wright, 86, retired high school teacher, of San Antonio, died April 21, 1999.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Norman Roe will officiate. Inurnment will take place later in the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery
in Shattuck, Okla.
A memorial has been established with the Polycystic Kidney Research Foundation, 4901 Main, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64112-2634.
Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Wright, Wichita, and David P. Wright, Austin, Texas; a daughter, LeLoy Wright Cottrell, San Antonio; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her husband, the Rev. O. Edgar Wright, died in 1958 in Winfield. A son, Dr. Edgar L. Wright, also preceded her in death.
Ralph Warmbrodt
ARKANSAS CITY - Ralph Rovella Warmbrodt, 91, of Arkansas City, died April 22, 1999, at Medicalodge East in Arkansas City.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery
in Winfield.
Friends may call at the funeral home until 8 p.m. Sunday. The casket will remain closed at the services.
Memorials have been established with Hospice Inc. and Shrine Children's Hospitals. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Warmbrodt was born June 19, 1907, in Sedan, to George Washington and Lucy Almora (Williams) Warmbrodt. He was raised in Sedan and Winfield.
In 1926 he married Mabel L. Davis.
On Feb. 16, 1934, he married Coral M. Gann, and they lived in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. His wife died in 1991.
Warmbrodt had been employed by Halliburton Oil Co.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Winfield, Winfield Lodge 110 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and the Wichita Consistory.
Survivors include a daughter, Vera Louise Howard, Douglass; a sister, Zeda Brooks, Sedan; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A son, Philip Ray Warmbrodt, preceded him in death.
Peggy Noe
POCOLA, Okla. - Peggy Bishop Noe, 93, of Pocola, formerly of Atlanta, died April 22, 1999, at St. Edward's Hospital, Fort Smith, Ark.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at McConnell Funeral Home, Greenwood, Ark., with burial in Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola.
Noe married Dolpha Lester Noe at Stillwell, Okla., and was a member of the Pacola Freewill Baptist Church.
She had been living with a granddaughter, Mrs. Leon Bormaster, of Fort Smith.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Bishop, Atlanta; a daughter, Leatrice Carter, Spiro, Okla.; two sisters, Ruth Logan, Stigler, Okla., and Tessie Rogers, Oklahoma City; a half-brother, Leon Lawyer, Wellston, Okla.; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Frances Bechtel
ARKANSAS CITY - Frances Lucille Bechtel, 84, of Arkansas City, died April 24, 1999, at South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bible Christian Church. The Rev. H. Dean LaVelle will officiate. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the church. Contributions may be made through Hawks Funeral Home.
Bechtel was born Sept. 19, 1914, in Dade County, Mo., to Roy Price and Frankie Ethel (Shaw) Vaughn.
On Feb. 13, 1932, she married James G. Hynd. He preceded her in death.
On Oct. 8, 1962, she married Carl W. Bechtel. They lived in Newkirk, Okla., before moving to Arkansas City in 1972. He died Oct. 1, 1982.
Bechtel has been a housekeeper for many years at the Osage Hotel, Osage Cleaners and Arkansas City Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Bible Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, James Edward Hynd, Nashville, Ind., and Kenneth Hynd, Newkirk; five daughters, Betty Tolman, Haysville, Maxine DeLong, Wichita, Catherine Bennett and Virginia Burkett, both of Arkansas City, and Judith Bowling, Greenwood, S.C.; three brothers, Robert Vaughn, Santa Barbara, Calif., Williard Vaughn, Long Beach, Calif, and Duane Vaughn, Escondido, Calif.; a sister, Virginia Lyons, Pahrumph, Nev.; 20 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Janice Perrin
ARKANSAS CITY - Janice J. Perrin, 44, of Arkansas City, died April 24, 1999, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Paul Knight will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery
at South Haven.
Friends may call at Hawks Funeral Home from 5 to 8 this evening and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A memorial has been established with the Missionary Fund of the First Assembly of God Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Perrin was born Aug. 16, 1954, in Caldwell, to Phenis J. and Maxine (McNett) Perrin. She attended school in Hunnewell and graduated from South Haven High School in 1972. She later graduated from Cowley County Community College and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
Perrin worked as a pharmacist in Perry, Okla., before moving to Arkansas City and working as a pharmacist at Dillons for seven years. For the last 12 years she had worked at the Wal-Mart pharmacy in Arkansas City.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her father, Phenis "Phil" Perrin, and a brother, Ron Perrin, both of Arkansas City; a nephew; three nieces; and her friend, Karen Bogart, Arkansas City.
Glenn Chickadonz
CHANUTE - Glenn Dey Chickadonz, 91, of Chanute, died April 23, 1999, at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 631 W. Seventh. The Rev. Jana Baxter will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at Johnson Mortuary until 8 tonight and from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday.

Chickadonz was born Oct. 14, 1907, at Kimball, to George W. and Betty (Dey) Chickadonz. The family lived in Colorado from 1915 to 1920. After his mother's death, he and his three brothers were raised by their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M.B. Smith. He attended rural Neosho County schools, Chanute High School and Santa Fe School of Telegraphy in Topeka.
On Aug. 23, 1930, he married Lois V. Clower in Chanute. She died Oct. 31, 1988.
Chickadonz worked as a telegraph apprentice and in the steel mills in Colorado. For 16 years he farmed in Neosho, Labette and Wilson counties. He worked for the railroad as a switchman, as a heavy equipment operator in agriculture and in the oil fields. He spent 18 years managing leases and operating secondary recovery projects for independent oil operators in Franklin and Miami counties. He retired in 1985 and moved to rural Chanute.
Chickadonz was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Kansas, the Order of Eastern Star and Otterbein United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Dean Chickadonz, Wickenburg, Ariz., and Donnie Chickadonz, Chanute; four daughters, Betty Ann Heady, Parsons, Evelyn King, Atlanta, Bonnie Yowell, Wichita, and Carolyn Buscher, Eldon, Mo.; a brother, Forrest F. Chickadonz, Chanute; 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
