Judy Scott
JOPLIN, Mo. - Judy B. Scott, 38, of Joplin, Mo., died June 7, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital in Joplin of a massive heart attack.
Scott was born July 20, 1960, in Fairfax, Okla., to Maurice and Mary (Beals) Conwell. She grew up in Webb City, Okla., and Shidler, Okla., and attended Shidler School with the class of 1979. She moved to Missouri in the early 1980s.
She was employed by Nicholson's Restaurant in Joplin at the time of her death.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Scott and Tracy Scott, both of Missouri; six brothers, Maurice "Bill" Conwell, Buckner, Mo., John M. Conwell, George T. Conwell and Eugene P. Conwell, all of Newkirk, Okla., J.C. Collins, Wichita, and Vance C. Booe, Joplin; seven sisters, Madge Lanham, Winfield, Wanda Karrass, Brownsfield, Texas, Dara Shallenberger, Joplin, Gale Fish, Shidler, Dixie Wilson, Wichita, Virginia Carter, Tulsa, Okla., and Lola Kerns, Burbank, Okla.; and one grandson.
Nora Hester
NEVADA, Mo. - Nora Blanche Hester, 67, of Nevada, Mo., formerly of Longton, died June 7, 1999, at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Longton Cemetery. Lloyd G. Zimmerman will officiate.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.
Hester was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Bisby, Ariz., to Chester O. and Gladys (Persinger) Fouch. Her family moved to Longton where she attended school and grew to womanhood.
On March 28, 1950, she married Leo Deneve. This marriage ended in divorce.
On Aug. 19, 1970, she married Glen Hester. He died in 1985.
Mrs. Hester devoted her life to caring for her family.
Survivors include three sons, John Deneve, Nevada, Mo., James Deneve, Joplin, Mo., and William Deneve, Winfield; two daughters, Barbara Dennison, El Dorado Springs, Mo., and Linda Bledsoe, Nevada, Mo.; a brother, Orville Fouch, Chanute; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Betty Cheever
Services for Betty May Cheever, 69, who died June 6, 1999, were held at 2 p.m. June 10, 1999, in the Colonial Chapel of Miles Funeral Service. Burial was in Lost Springs Cemetery.
The vocal music selection was "Peace in the Valley."
A memorial has been established with Southwind Residential Services in Winfield.
Marvin Thompson
TULSA, Okla. - Marvin Lee Thompson, 71, of Tulsa, died June 10, 1999.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Fort Gibson National Cemetery
in Fort Gibson, Okla.
Memorials have been established with the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane Club, the University of Tulsa athletic department and the American Cancer Society. Ninde Funeral Directors, Garden Chapel, Tulsa, has charge of arrangements.
Thompson was born on Jan. 27, 1928, in Loco, Okla. He went to high school in Udall. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was honorably discharged in 1947.
He attended graduated from the University of Tulsa with a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering in 1965. After college he worked for Sinclair Oil Co. and later for Arrow Specialty Co. where he worked until his retirement in the early 1990s.
After he officially retired, he started Thompson Corp., an oil leasing and consulting firm. Thompson was a board member of the TU Golden Hurricane Club.
Survivors include his wife, Bee Thompson, Tulsa; three sons, Bradley Thompson, Tulsa, Brian Thompson, Houston, Texas, and Philip Thompson, Broken Arrow, Okla.; a stepson, Michael Campbell, Inola, Okla.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Jean Coffey
Graveside services for Jean Coffey, 74, who died June 8, 1999, were held at 11 a.m. June 11, 1999, at Highland Cemetery. The Revs. Ron Keith and Jeff Fletcher officiated.
Lori Thacker and Debbie Miller sang "How Great Thou Art" and "I'll Never Walk Alone." Cindy Cushenbery sang "Forever and Ever with You."
Honorary casket bearers were Wayne Bodkins, Willard Bodkins, Pete McGill, Ray Potter, Troy Simonton and Ray Wheelen.
Casket bearers were Randy Cushenbery, Randy McClellan, Bryan Nebergall, Kurt Shernuk, Rob Simmons and Chip Wheelen.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Inc.

LeEtta Miller
DOUGLASS - LeEtta Miller, 66, of Douglass, died June 12, 1999.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Richland Cemetery
west of Douglass. The Rev. Ron Keith will officiate. Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miller was born July 6, 1932, in Douglass, to Forest and Maime (Payton) Gillum.
On Sept. 14, 1949, she married Bill Miller in El Dorado. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Miller, Douglass; three sons, Tom and Jim Miller, both of Douglass, and Kim Miller, Towanda; a daughter, Pam Krueger, Longmont, Colo.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Beryl Wunderlich
Beryl M. Schooley Wunderlich, 85, a resident of Good Samaritan Village in Winfield, died June 13, 1999, at William Newton Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Latham Cemetery. Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Wunderlich was born March 28, 1914, at Manchester, to Samuel Palmer and Minnie Mae (Converse) Stroade. She spent her early childhood in the Abilene area and later attended Howard and Latham schools.
On April 12, 1930, she married J. Bert Schooley in Winfield. They resided in Cambridge, Wichita and Atlanta. He died March 24, 1978.
On July 18, 1982, she married John Long in Atlanta. He died May 25, 1983.
On May 30, 1985, she married Marvin Arthur Wunderlich at Miami, Okla. They lived in Arkansas City until his death on Oct. 8, 1989.
Wunderlich cared for many foster children in her home.
She had lived at Good Samaritan Village since 1996. She had been affiliated with the Atlanta Garden Club and the Atlanta Extension Homemakers Unit.
Survivors include a son, Richard Jay Schooley, Burden; four daughters, Beulah Nadine McClintock, Norman, Okla., Alberta Delorse Gilbert, Stephenville, Texas, Hazel Marie Todd, Americus, Ga., and Kay Marie Mora, Arkansas City; a brother, Oran Alva Stroade, Longview, Minn.; a half-brother, Dwight Stroade; a half-sister, Elma Mercer; 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Donna Mae Hagen, preceded her in death.
Marcelo Cornejo
TOPEKA - Marcelo A. Cornejo Sr., 65, of Topeka, formerly of Winfield, died June 15, 1999, at Colmery-O'Neil Veterans Administration Hospital in Topeka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Winfield. The Rev. Michael Maybrier will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. A Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Cornejo was born Oct. 30, 1933, in Wellington, to Lorenzo and Antonia (Macias) Cornejo. On April 15, 1961, he married Jessie M. Negrete in Winfield.
Cornejo lived in Winfield from 1961 until 1993. An aircraft mechanic at General Electric at Strother Field, he retired in 1993 and later moved to Topeka.
He was a member of Winfield American Legion Post 10.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Cornejo, Topeka; a son, Marcelo Cornejo Jr., Gonzales, La.; two daughters, Maria Arnett, Herndon, Va., and Mary Ellrich, Ida Grove, Iowa; a brother, Albert Cornejo Sr., Oxford; a sister, Mary Perez, Wellington; and nine grandchildren.
Lillian Kimble
GREAT BEND - Lillian Kimble, 71 of Great Bend, died June 14, 1999, in Great Bend.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Fryberger Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Loyce Clay will officiate. Burial will be in Golden Belt Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to service time Friday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials have been established with the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
Kimble was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Weldon, La., to Ernest Beaver and Eula Mae Williams. She attended grade school in Summerfield, La.
On Feb. 5, 1973, she married Donnie Kimble in Russell.
A homemaker, Kimble was a member of the Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Donnie Kimble, Great Bend; three sons, Richard Kimble, Great Bend, Billy Wayne Kimble, Larned, and Fredrick Briggs, address not given; two daughters, Charlotte Hall, Salina, and Betty Jo Theus, Hutchinson; two brothers, E.L. Gray, Salina, and Sammie Allen, Russell; two sisters, Elvira Gray, Salina, and Lola Mae Allen, Winfield; a half-brother and two half-sisters, Bernice, La.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ruby Holder
Services for Ruby Louise Holder, 84, who died June 5, 1999, were held at 2 p.m. June 10 in Highland Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Fulton officiated.
Honorary casket bearers were Irene Nix and Fern Duncan.
Casket bearers were Bill Taylor, Mark Krusor, Roger Rupp, George Lancaster, Jim Buterbaugh, Lucian Barbour and Bill Vaughn.
Memorials have been established with Grace Episcopal Church, H.L. Snyder Research Foundation and the Cumbernauld Village Van Fund.
