Jerry McCutcheon
ARKANSAS CITY - Jerry Eugene McCutcheon, 70, died Dec. 9, 1999, at Medicalodge East in Arkansas City.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hawks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery
in rural Geuda Springs.
A memorial has been established with Mount Hope United Methodist Church and Medicalodge East. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
McCutcheon was born July 1, 1929, near Ashton, to Calvin and Daisy L. (Priest) McCutcheon. His father died when he was a child. He was raised in the Ashton area and attended Arkansas City High School.
On Dec. 23, 1960, he married Mary Elizabeth Miller in St. Louis, Ill. They lived in Williamsfield, Ill., where he worked at the co-op elevator, until moving to Oxford in August 1997. His wife died Dec. 21, 1997.
McCutcheon moved to Medicalodge East in March 1998.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Trevah Casson, Oxford, and Bonnie Jo Younk, Bellview, Neb.; two stepbrothers, Paul Jennings, Panarama City, Calif., and Grant Jennings, Sangor, Texas; and four stepsisters, Elanora McMullin and Bonnie Lee Smith, both of Arkansas City, Made McGuigan, Tulsa, and Virginia McMullin, Hastings, Mich.
Dale M. Freeman
Dale M. Freeman of Udall died Thursday Dec. 9, 1999, in Winfield. He was 34.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at College Hill United Methodist Church in Wichita. Hillside Funeral Home East in Wichita is handling arrangements. A Rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established at College Hill United Methodist Church.
Freeman was employed at Don Vaugn Plumbers.
He is survived by fiance Tracy Sweetwater of Wichita; son Dale Angelo of Wichita; Brother Frank L. Freeman of Towanda; Sisters June Ann Freeman of Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Vickie McGinty of Maize; father Frank M. Freeman of Mobile, Ala.; mother Beverly Freeman of Towanda; and grandmother Elizabeth Ramsey of Mobile Ala.
Ella Nahnsen
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Ella Nahnsen, 92, of Springfield, died Dec. 9, 1999, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bisch Funeral Home West in Springfield. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Nahnsen was born July 2, 1907, in Plato Center, Ill., to Fred and Alvina (Wiese) Linnenkohl. In 1929 she married Carl F. Nahnsen. He died in 1987.
Nahnsen worked as a licensed practical nurse in Chicago until 1964.
Survivors include a son, Tom Nahnsen, Pleasant Plains, Ill., formerly of Winfield; a sister, Irma Bowers, Roselle, Ill.; three grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Kenneth Gatton
Services for Kenneth L. Gatton, 89, who died Dec. 8, 1999, were held at 10 a.m. Dec. 11 in Colonial Chapel of Miles Funeral Service. The Rev. Sheila Ratzlaff officiated. Burial was in Cambridge Cemetery.
Vocal music was "How Great Thou Art" and "If Tomorrow Never Comes."
Honorary casket bearers were Richard Lee, Bob Lundy, M.R. Redford and Floyd Smith.
Casket bearers were Randy Buckmaster, J.D. Redford, Neil Watt, Meridith Whiteman, Mike Whiteman and Larry Yarbrough.
A memorial has been established with the First Responders of the Burden Volunteer Fire Department.
Mary Lou Kiner
HOWARD - Mary Lou Kiner, 72, formerly of Wichita, died Dec. 8, 1999, at Howard Twilight Manor.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Grace Lawn Cemetery
in Howard with the Rev. Kiburn Kim officiating. Zimmerman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Inc.
Kiner was born July 27, 1927, in Kansas City, Mo., to Kenneth Keith and Genevieve Evelin (Tonkin) Kiner. She graduated from Howard High School.
For many years, Kiner worked at Kiner Grocery Store in Howard. In the 1960s she moved to Wichita and was employed by The Wichita Eagle as a keypunch operator and later in the information technology department until retiring in 1989.
Kiner was a longtime member of Columbia Chapter 142, Order of the Eastern Star, at Howard.
She is survived by six cousins, including Vivian Barnhart and John Batson, both of Howard.
Lee Rozell
Lee Ellen Rozell, 73, of 101 Park, Winfield, died Dec. 11, 1999, at her home.
Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8.
Private services will be held later in Buffington Cemetery, Salisaw, Okla.
A memorial has been established with Hospice Inc. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Rozell was born June 24, 1926, on a farm at McKey, Okla., to Jean Madison and Martha Pairlee (Humphrey) Johnson. When she was five, the family moved to Muskogee, Okla., where she was raised and educated.
She was employed as an inspector for Brockway Glass Co. in Muskogee and retired following 37 years of service. She moved to Winfield in September 1998 to live with her son and family.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Gibson, Okla., she was a longtime member of the Professional Women of Muskogee and was active in the Democratic Women's Association.
She had been an avid supporter and worker for the Glass Bottle Blowers Union of America and had served on the AFL-CIO Community Education Council. She was past president of the Rockwell Glass Co. Retired Employees Association and had served on the Muskogee Industrial Commission.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Rozell, Winfield, and Jack Rozell, Aurora, Mo.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
An infant son, Sammy Jean Rozell, preceded her in death.
Nelda Teter
UDALL - Nelda L. Teter, 62, of Udall, died Dec. 11, 1999, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Joseph Campus in Wichita.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Udall United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Ninnescah Cemetery.
Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Teter was born July 6, 1937, in Argonia, to Ted R. and Marie M. (Donley) Barnett. The family moved to Udall when she was a youth, and she graduated from Udall High School in 1955.
During the 1950s and 1960s, she was employed by Southwest Federal Savings & Loan Association in Wichita.
On Jan. 1, 1961, she married Donald S. Teter in Udall. They resided in Wichita before moving to Udall in 1962.
In 1977 they moved to Hollister, Mo., and she owned and operated a dress shop in Branson, Mo., before moving to Winfield in 1981. She owned and operated The Shoppe, a dress shop in Winfield and later in Wellington. The couple later returned to Udall.
Teter was a longtime member of the Udall United Methodist Church where she had served as pianist and on numerous boards. She was a member of the board of directors of the Udall Public Library and a member of Estella Chapter 46, Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Don Teter, Udall; a son, Wade Teter, Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Susan Teter Ruth, Indianola, Iowa; a brother, John W. Barnett, Udall; two grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A son, Johnny Lee Teter, died April 9, 1995.
Connie Coombes
DOUGLASS - Connie Jean Coombes, 55, of Douglass, former Douglass High School secretary and bookkeeper, died Dec. 12, 1999, after an extended illness.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Douglass United Methodist Church. The Rev. Chee Sin Ho will officiate. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Douglass Public Library and Hospice Inc.
Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Coombes was born Feb. 26, 1944, in Wichita, to Glenn W. and Grace L. (Goodin) Hensley.
On June 29, 1963, she married Larry Coombes in Wichita.
A lifelong area resident, she was a member of the Douglass United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Coombes, a son, Kevin Coombes, and a daughter, Sheri McCaffree, all of Douglass; a brother, Marvin Hensley, Wichita; and two grandsons.
Laura Graham
Laura Mae Graham, 102, of Cumbe-rnauld Village in Winfield, died Dec. 12, 1999, at William Newton Memorial Hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
A memorial has been established with the Herbert C. Hawk Memorial Scholarship Foundation. Contributions may be made at the funeral home or through the Winfield school district.
Graham was born May 18, 1897, in Papillion, Neb., to George W. and Emma (Seefus) Zweibel. When she was 11 years old, the family moved to Texas where they resided until moving to Kansas in 1911.
A 1914 graduate of Sedgwick High School, she later attended Kansas State Agricultural College, now Kansas State University.
On Aug. 22, 1918, she married Harold A. Graham in Sedgwick. They made their first home on the Graham farm near Winfield. They later resided on College Street before moving to Lyons in 1949. The Grahams visited all but six states in the United States during their marriage.
Her husband died in 1984. Graham continued to reside in Lyons until returning to Winfield in 1993.
Graham was a member of the Lyons United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a charter member of the Lyons United Methodist Women. She was a 35-year member of the Lyons Women's Club and was active as a Red Cross volunteer during World War II.
Survivors include a son, retired Major Hugh W. Graham, Winfield; a daughter, Patricia F. Fuller, Bellevue, Wash.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A son, H. Allen Graham, died in December 1997.
