Alice Hammer
Alice M. Hammer, 102, formerly of 1512 E. 14th, Winfield, died Feb. 27, 2000, at Cumbernauld Village.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials have been established with the First Presbyterian Church and Cumbernauld Village. Contributions may be made at the church or funeral home.
Hammer was born Dec. 24, 1897, on the family homestead northeast of Dexter, to Barbara (Littleton) and W.T. Williams.
On Aug. 27, 1916, she married S. Gibson Hammer on the Williams farm near Cambridge. The Hammers lived in Maple City, Cambridge and Burden. During the Depression, Hammer operated a small grocery store in Cambridge for 10 years. She also filled in as a rural mail carrier occasionally.
The family moved to Winfield in 1962. Her husband died March 15, 1981.
Hammer was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Rossetti and Artemis clubs. She also played piano and organ for church activities.
Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Watt, Winfield; two sons, Stanley Hammer, Winfield, and Gael W. Hammer, Washington Depot, Conn.; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Harold Pfalzgraf
WELLINGTON - Harold Archer Pfalzgraf, 66, of Wellington, died Feb. 26, 2000, at Sumner Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church.
Friends may call until 9 tonight at Frank Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church Maintenance Fund and Wellington Public Library.
Pfalzgraf was born May 4, 1933, in McPherson, to Esther (Brooks) and Charles Archer Pfalzgraf. After graduating from McPherson High School in 1952, he served in the United State military as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.
On Oct. 9, 1953, he married Carol Louise Ginavan in Salina.
Pfalzgraf graduated from McPherson College in 1959 with a bachelor's degree in history. While attending Washburn Law School, he was an intern in the attorney general's office. He graduated with honors in 1962.
Pfalzgraf worked as an assistant attorney general, then moved to Wellington in 1963 after his election to the position of Sumner County probate and juvenile judge. He also served as Sumner County attorney before entering private practice in 1971.
Pfalzgraf served on the boards of many organizations, including the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, American Legion, Futures Unlimited, Babe Ruth Baseball, Meals on Wheels, United Fund, Wellington Public Library, Wellington Recreation Commission and Wellington Community Theater. He was presiding justice for the Wellington Benevolent Protective Order of Elks for many years and was active in the First United Methodist Church.
In 1998, he was elected president of the Kansas Bar Foundation, the principal charitable foundation for Kansas attorneys.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Pfalzgraf, Wellington; his daughter, Linda L. Pfalzgraf, Woodstock, Ga.; his son, Doug Pfalzgraf, Wellington; his brothers, Richard Pfalzgraf and Charles Pfalzgraf, both of McPherson; his sisters, Maxine Larson, McPherson, and Diana Herr, Kansas City; and three grandsons.
Francis Pike
SUBLETTE - Dr. Francis G. Pike, 90, of Sublette, formerly of Howard, died Feb. 28, 2000, at Satanta Long Term Care Unit in Satanta.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sublette Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Haskell County Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Haskell County Funeral Home until 8 tonight and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials have been established with the Sublette Southern Baptist Church and Gideons International. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home at Box 607, Sublette, KS 67877.
Pike was born Oct. 22, 1909, in Woodward, Okla., to Effie (Goff) and Clyde Pike. When he was 12, he moved near Drury where he attended grade school. He graduated from South Haven High School in 1927 and from Colvin Chiropractic College in Wichita.
On Sept. 30, 1931, he married Fern Hawkins in Medford, Okla. They lived in Wichita for 14 years. In 1962 they moved from Howard to Sublette where they owned and operated Pike Chiropractic Office. Pike was a chiropractor for over 60 years before retiring.
His wife died Nov. 27, 1993.
Pike was a member of the Sublette Southern Baptist Church, Gideons International and Kansas Chiropractic Association.
Survivors include a son, Johnnie Pike, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Edith Hale, Winfield, and Lois Shrimplin, Sublette; a sister, Elnora Mae Condit, Arkansas City; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
John Priest
Services for John W. Priest were held at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 22, 2000, at the Evangelical Free Church. The Rev. Mike Rethmeier officiated. Burial was in Union Cemetery.
Jason Greever was the organist, and Rex Beeney sang "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden."
Casket bearers were Keith Archer, Jerry DeVore, Bill McArtor, Henry Eggleston, Amos Archer and Ian Rethmeier.
Memorials have been established with the Evangelical Free Church and Winfield Rest Haven.
Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Letha Rising
Services for Letha Pearl (Archer) Rising were held at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 28, 2000, at the Evangelical Free Church. The Rev. Lewis Potter officiated. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Sara Weinert was the organist. Rex Beeney sang "In the Garden," and the congregation sang "He Lives" and "It Is Well With My Soul."
Casket bearers were Dale, Merle, Mace and Keith Archer, Jack Grant, Werner Grunwald, Howard and Max Lumbert and Dan and Kraig Rowe.
Memorials have been established with the Evangelical Free Church Building Fund and Hospice Inc.
Miles Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Ina Barrick
WICHITA - Ina I. Barrick, 90, homemaker, of Wichita, died Feb. 28, 2000.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Elmwood Cemetery
in Woodward, Okla.
Friends may call at Cochran Mortuary until 8 p.m. today and Thursday, and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ, Woodward.
A memorial has been established with Maude Carpenter Children's Home, 1501 N. Meridian, Wichita, KS 67203.

Barrick was born May 9, 1909, in Garlington, Okla., to Ova L. (Sliger) and David K. Chaffin.
On Jan. 3, 1930, she married Charles Raymon Barrick in Boise City, Okla. He died Feb. 21, 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Wheat, Artesia, N.M., and Imalee Johnson, Arkansas City; a son, Charles Ray Barrick, Ada, Okla.; a sister, Jewell Dunn, Hotchkiss, Colo.; a brother, Elmer Chaffin, Hopeton, Ark.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Wesley Moore
Services for John Wesley Moore were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 29, 2000, at Miles Funeral Service. The Rev. Jeff Fletcher officiated.
Recordings played were "Seven Spanish Angels" by Ray Charles and Willie Nelson; "Go Rest High on That Mountain" by Vince Gill; "Holes in the Floor of Heaven" by Steve Wariner; "If You Ever Leave Me" by Vince Gill and Barbara Streisand; and "Because You Love Me" by Celine Dion.
Burial was in Highland Cemetery
with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 10 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3544.
Honorary casket bearers were Gene Bair, Becky Camp, Jarred Chalmers, Dean Crow, Don Drennan, Dennis Gilliland, Lawrence Hostetter, Teresa Jordan, Mark Kent, John McIver, Steve McNutt, Terry Mount, Travis Schumate, Cliff Sneed, Rob Snively and Roger Tredway.

Robert Clements
Services for Robert L. Clements were held at 2 p.m. March 1, 2000, in Colonial Chapel of Miles Funeral Service. The Rev. Gerald Graber officiated.
Military ceremonies were conducted by American Legion Post 10 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3544 in Highland Cemetery.
Music included recordings of "How Great Thou Art" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain" by Vince Gill; "And I Love You So" by Perry Como; and "Things I Wish I'd Said" by Rodney Crowell.
Honorary casket bearers were Jim Buterbaugh, Ned Graham, Dan, Stan and Terry Kiser and Larry Oglesby.
Casket bearers were Marvin Browning, Chris and Gordy Clements, John Looney, James McCraney and Kenny Tyler.

DEXTER - Services for Bertha Maxine Hoyt were held at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 29, 2000, in Dexter Cemetery. The Rev. Norman Reeves officiated. Music included "Amazing Grace" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain."
Casket bearers were Tom Faber, Ed and Kallian Leftwich, Brian and Doug Love and Leo Smith.
