Pat McGlasson
BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Patricia Ann "Pat" McGlasson, 65, of Bartlesville, died June 8, 2000, at Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the East Cross United Methodist Church, Bartlesville, with the Rev. John Price officiating, and at 3 p.m. in Highland Cemetery, Winfield, with David Tappe officiating. Stumpff Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established with the Hear Fund, c/o Susie Tallent, WestStar Bank, P.O. Box 999, Bartlesville, OK 74005.
McGlasson was born Aug. 8, 1934, at Cedar Vale, to Kale and Hazel (Parks) Williams. She attended Cedar Vale schools and Baker University in Baldwin.
On Aug. 21, 1960, she married Robert McGlasson at Cedar Vale.
She was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. from 1954 until retiring as executive secretary in 1999.
McGlasson was a member of East Cross United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bob McGlasson, and a daughter, Kala McGlasson, both of Bartlesville; three brothers, Kale Williams, Chicago, Bill Williams, Hutchinson, and Dick Williams, Kingwood, Texas; and three sisters, Joan Cornett, Winfield, Barbara McGinnis, Story, Ark., and Nancy Richards, Rose Hill.
Una Cook
CEDAR VALE - Services for Una M. Cook were held at 10:30 a.m. June 10, 2000, at Wheeler Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Keith officiated. Inurnment was in Cedar Vale Cemetery.
Evalyn Upchurch was organist and vocalist. Selections were "Amazing Grace" and "Beyond the Sunset."
Casket bearers were Byron Steward, Don Land, Wade Magnus, Gerald Magnus, Mike Champlin, Jim Duncan and Bill McKinley.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
Timothy Noonan
BURDEN - Timothy F. Noonan, 45, of Burden, died June 10, 2000, following a vehicle accident north of Winfield.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Miles Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Neosho Rapids. A register book can be signed Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials have been established with the Huntington's Disease Foundation and the Cowley County Conservation District. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
Noonan was born Sept. 8, 1954, to Doris Marie (Shearer) and James E. Noonan. He graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita in 1972 and with an associate's degree in applied science from a junior college in Dallas. After graduation he worked for LTV in Dallas.
On July 12, 1981, he married Denise Davis in Peabody. They lived in Elbing and Peabody early in their marriage. They later moved to Burleson, Texas, for a short time and then back to Wichita before moving to Burden. Noonan was employed as an electrical technician at Boeing in Wichita.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Burden's rural volunteer fire department, Grass Roots Grazers and the Great Plains Viszla Club.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Noonan, Burden; a son, Nathan Noonan, Texas; a daughter, Jessica Hansard, Wichita; four brothers, John Noonan, California, Tom Noonan, Baldwin, Pat Noonan, Tulsa, and Robert Noonan, address not given; and five sisters, Judy Richenburger and Teri Wasinger, both of Wichita, Mary Cate, Baldwin, Chris Harrison, Spokane, Wash., and Sara Schmanke, Baldwin.
Melvin Lehrman
HOWARD - Melvin Eldon Lehrman, 78, of Howard, died June 10, 2000, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Marty Dewitt will officiate. A private burial will be held in Grace Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the First Baptist Church and the Elk County Ministerial Alliance. Contributions may be made through Zimmerman Funeral Home.
Lehrman was born April 16, 1922, near Peabody, to Anna (Goossen) and David S. Lehrman. The family moved to Newton when he was a child, and he graduated from Newton High School in 1940.
On April 23, 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was discharged Dec. 18, 1945.
On Jan. 3, 1945, he married Eula May "Kay" (Nance) Moore in Newton. He was employed as a sheet metal worker for Skyline Industries in Halstead until his retirement. The Lehrmans made their home in Newton before moving to Howard in 1989.
Lehrman was a former trustee, youth leader and elder of St. Luke Presbyterian Church in Newton and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Howard.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Lehrman, and a daughter, Sharon Hughes, both of Howard; two sons, Mark Lehrman and Larry Lehrman, both of Sedan; two sisters, Dorothy Sutter, Rogers, Ark., and Hilda Higgins, Walton; a brother, William Lehrman, Newton; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Eloise Graham
LYNCHBURG, Va. - Eloise Terrell Graham, 74, of Lynchburg, and recently of Tucson, died May 19, 2000, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the widow of the late retired United States Air Force Lt. Col. H. Allen Graham.
Services were held May 22 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Alan McLean officiated. Burial was in Virginia Memorial Park.
Graham was born Oct. 24, 1925, in Lynchburg, to Louise Layne Terrell of Forest, Va., and the late Paul Terrell.
She and her husband were stationed at Boeing in Wichita in the early 1950s and also at McConnell Air Force Base in the mid-1960s.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Terrell A. Graham, Lynchburg; a stepdaughter, Sherry G. Perkins, Greenville, Texas; a sister, Margaret Belcher, Forest, Va.; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hugh and Lola Graham, Winfield.
Geneva Newton
Geneva Newton, 93, longtime Winfield resident, died June 13, 2000, at Cumbernauld Village in Winfield.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be in Wilmot Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials have been established with the American Heart Association and Cumbernauld Village. Contributions may be made through Cumbernauld or the funeral home.
Newton was born June 16, 1906, on a farm near Smileyberg, to Jennie Belle (Rosenberry) and William Winfred Newton. She was educated in the Rock and Dexter areas.
Newton worked in housekeeping and child care in the Winfield area for several years. She also worked at William Newton Memorial Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1972 as head cook.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Albert Edward Newton, Arkansas City; and a sister, Velva Kodalle, Wichita.
Earl Teubner
Earl G. Teubner, 85, of Cumbernauld Village, Winfield, died May 29, 2000.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at University Friends Church, Wichita. Resthaven Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials have been established with University Friends Church, Grace United Methodist Church and Hospice Inc.
Teubner was a retired partner and insurance agent with Paul Brown & Associates in Wichita.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Teubner, Winfield; two sons, Douglas S. Teubner, Winfield, and Donn M. Teubner, Towson, Md.; a sister, Doris Byron, Stockton, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Nettie Thompson
WICHITA - Nettie M. Thompson, 94, of Wichita, formerly of Winfield, died June 15, 2000, at the home of her granddaughter, Darlene Rozar.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and before service time Monday.
Memorials have been established with Hospice Inc. and Senior Services of Wichita.
Thompson was born Nov. 2, 1905, in Hydro, Okla., to Cottie (Bright) and Charlie Cox. She was raised and educated in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School.
On Aug. 24, 1923, she married Ola Thompson in Winfield. He died Oct. 12, 1969.
Thompson had lived in Wichita since 1954.
Survivors include a son, Charles Lee Thompson, Vernon, Conn.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Lela Mae Rozar, preceded her in death.
Fern Kinney
ARGONIA - Fern J. Kinney, 86, of Argonia, homemaker and longtime area resident, died June 16, 2000.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Argonia Friends Church. Burial will be in Argonia Cemetery.
Friends may call at Williams Funeral Home in Anthony from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Argonia Community Building Fund.
Kinney was born April 22, 1914, south of Argonia, to May (Brown) and Ray Medlam.
On June 1, 1935, she married Perry Kinney in Wichita. He died Jan. 15, 1988.
Survivors include two daughters, Addie Kinney and Linda Allender, both of Argonia; a son, Perry Lee Kinney, Freeport; three sisters, Marguerite Stricker, Great Bend, Betty Medlam, Anthony, and Deannie Oller, Harper; three brothers, Alvin "Sonny" Medlam, Caldwell, H.C. "Bud" Medlam, Argonia, and Max Medlam, Augusta, W.Va.; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A son, Edward Ray, preceded her in death.
