Richard Weller
Services for Richard D. Weller Jr. were held at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Allen Polen officiated. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Carolyn Eastman was the organist. Music included "In the Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Daddy's Hands."
Honorary casket bearers were Matthew Weller and Richard Weller IV.
Casket bearers were Robert Dunn, Drew Kampschroeder, Henry Kampschroeder, Charlie Weller, Chris Weller and Richard D. Weller III.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.

Vernon Beu
Vernon Merle Beu, 83, of Winfield, died Sept. 27, 2001, at William Newton Hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard. Lloyd G. Zimmerman will officiate. Ferguson-Spease American Legion Post will conduct military honors at the Moline Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Hospice, Inc. Contributions may be left with the funeral home.
Beu was born on January 19, 1918, on a farm near Moline, to Edna Gertrude (May) and Bennie Walter Beu. He graduated from Moline High School in 1935 and grew to manhood in the Moline area.
He was employed at the Moline Feed Store for several years before becoming a carpenter. He later moved to Wichita and worked at Boeing Aircraft Co. In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Army and was discharged in 1946.
In 1947, Beu married Bessie Hull and they made their home in Moline. Beu was employed as a carpenter in the Moline area until retiring in 1981. He and his wife moved to Winfield in 1998 to be near medical care.
They were members of the Kansas Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers for more than 20 years. They entertained with music at nursing homes and other locations. He was the state secretary of the organization for several years. He was a member of the Moline United Methodist Church, Ferguson-Spease American Legion Post and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Beu, and his brother, Cleo Beu, Moline.
Gladys Holloway
Services for Gladys E. Holloway were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 27 at Hawks Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Lance Carrithers officiated. Burial was in White Chapel Memorial Garden in Wichita.
Shirley Moore was the organist. Vocalists were Jim and Jan Miller. Music included "Unclouded Day" and "Precious Memories."
Memorials may be made to Hospice Inc. or Presbyterian Manor.
Clara Bever
SEDAN - Clara May Bever, 97, of Sedan, formerly of Wauneta, died Sept. 30, 2001, at Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Round Mound Cemetery.
Friends may call at Wheeler Funeral Home of Cedar Vale from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wauneta United Methodist Church or the Sedan hospital.
Bever was born March 6, 1904, in a log cabin northeast of Cedar Vale, to Nettie Jane (Redington) and John Henry Boomershine. She was raised and educated in rural Wauneta.
On Dec. 13, 1927, she married Floyd Bever in Winfield. They lived on a farm near Wauneta until moving to Sedan in 1975. Her husband died Jan. 7, 1986.
A homemaker, Bever also worked at Sedan Floral and in the Sedan school cafeteria from 1976 to 1978. She was a member of Wauneta United Methodist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Rolland Bever, Peru, Melvin Bever, Winfield, and Kenneth, Keith and Wendell Bever, all of Sedan; three daughters, Naomi Kennedy, Cedar Vale, Hazel White, Sedan, and Carol Bohannan, Wichita; a brother, Earl Boomershine, Gunnison, Colo.; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Dixie Boone
MOLINE - Dixie Lee Boone, 67, longtime resident of Moline, died Sept. 28, 2001, at Elk Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be at 1 p.m Wednesday at the Moline Christian Church. The Rev. Ted Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery
at Howard.
A memorial has been established with the Moline Christian Church. Contributions may be made through Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.
Boone was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Hartford, to Thelma Elizabeth (Karr) and Edward E. Watkins. She attended school in Hartford and Emporia.
She made a home for her family in Emporia, Wichita, Colorado Springs and Seattle before moving to Moline. After her first marriage ended, he married Bert Oliver Boone in Reno, Nev., on July 15, 1966.
She was employed as a waitress for several years and was co-owner of the Cattleman's Motel at Moline before her retirement.
Boone was a member of the Moline Christian Church.
A son, Casey Lee Truskolawski, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Bert Boone, Moline; two daughters, Carissa Long, Wichita, and Pattie Finch, Hampton, Ark.; a stepson, Richard Boone, Newkirk; three stepdaughters, Linda Bollinger, Latham, and Barbara Hellewell and Jayne Stephens, both of Wichita; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Harold Capps
ATLANTA - Services for Harold D. Capps were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 28, 2001, in Mount Vernon Cemetery
at Atlanta. The Rev. Gerald Graber officiated.
Music included recordings of "Amazing Grace," sung by Willie Nelson, "Go Rest High on That Mountain," by Vince Gill, and "Wind Beneath My Wings," by Bette Midler.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Research Association.

Raymond Eis
Services for Raymond J. Eis were held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 29, 2001, at Grandview United Methodist Church. The Rev. Don Foster and Gailard Hopkins officiated. Burial was in Floral Cemetery.
Rose Marie Watt was the organist. Tamen Eis sang "In the Garden," and Nancy Eis sang "The Lord's Prayer."
Casket bearers were Tom Eis, Gary Kearn, Terry Kearn, Frank Lopez, Mike Ross and Jim Stinson.
Memorials have been established with Grandview United Methodist Church and the American Red Cross.

Rickie Glen
BARTLESVILLE - Rickie J. Glen, 42, of Bartlesville, formerly of Arkansas City, died Sept. 26, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident near Bartlesville.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hawks Memorial Chapel in Arkansas City. A private inurnment is planned.
Friends may call at the funeral home until 8 tonight and from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday.
A memorial has been established as Kiley Glen's education fund. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
Glen was born Nov. 30, 1958, in Arkansas City, to Karen Jolene (McIntire) and Lonnie William Glen Jr. He attended school in Arkansas City and also attended Wichita State University and Cowley County Community College.
A finish carpenter and construction worker, Glen was affiliated with the Episcopal Church.
A daughter, Megan Glen, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Kiley Jo Glen, Arkansas City; his mother; a brother, Lonnie Glen III, Wichita; and three sisters, Jodi Jordan, Darci Jordan and Traci Jordan, all of Tulsa, Okla.
Lawrence Hostetter
Services for Lawrence Earl Hostetter were held at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 28, 2001, in Highland Cemetery. Vernon Lee officiated.
Music included "How Great Thou Art," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee."
Honorary casket bearers were Charles Cromley, Ashley Davis, Bill Davis, John Havens, Gabriel Wacker and Jeff Wacker.
Casket bearers were Sandra Caswell, Daniel Hostetter, Laura Leiker, Troy Leiker, Sonya Rodgers, Grace Short and Ty Short.

Daniel Lewallen
Memorial services for Daniel Y. Lewallen were held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 29, 2001, at the First Christian Church. The Rev. Shawn Sturm officiated.
Martha Brandenburg was the organist, and Les Hogue was the soloist. Music included "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" and "In the Bulb There Is a Flower." The congregation sang "Amazing Grace."
Memorials have been established with the First Christian Church and Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in San Antonio, Texas.
