NASHVILLE - Sylvia J. Armstrong, 63, died Aug. 14, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita. A Nashville resident since 1983, she was a homemaker.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Larrison-Forsyth Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
Survivors include: husband, Max; two sons, Michael P. and Jerry W., both of Garden City; a brother, Curtis Clark, Nashville; and two sisters, Jesse Gaschler, Wichita, and Jean Lackey, Turon.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
Joseph L. "Joe' Webster
Joseph L. "Joe" Webster, 93, died Oct. 10, 2000, at his daughter's home in Topeka. A Pratt resident for more than 65 years, he was a City of Pratt Street Department employee.
Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Greenlawn Cemetery. The casket will remain closed. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary.
Survivors include: wife, Minnie Mae; a son, Orville Bryan Webster, Wichita; and a daughter, Norma Lee West, Topeka.
Memorials may be sent to Heart of America Hospice in Topeka or American Cancer Society, both in care of the mortuary.
Albert A. Hayden
STAFFORD - Albert A. Hayden, 80, died Oct. 23, 2000, at his home in Stafford. A lifetime Stafford resident, he was an oil driller.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Stafford Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife, Jane; two sons, David Corby, Stafford, and Danny Corby, St. John; two stepdaughters, Sherri Meyers, Wichita, and Tammy Ward, St. John; four brothers, John and Chet, both of Stafford, Trenton, Mechanicsberg, Ind., and Sam, El Paso, Texas; and two sisters, Norraine Keton, Swifton, Ark., and Naoma Rundell, Ulysses.

E. Pauline Helgeson
GALVA - E. Pauline Helgeson, 73, died Dec. 4, 2000, at Memorial Hospital, McPherson. A Galva resident since 1948, she was a retired operator at Certain-Teed Corp., Plastic Siding Division.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Galva Christian Church. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson, with the family receiving friends form 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Empire Cemetery, Galva.
Survivors include: husband, Robert, of the home; a son, Brian, Canton; three daughters, Penny Hulsey, Howard, Sandy Blair and Anita Walters, both of Galva; four brothers, Bill O'Brien, Pratt, Eddie O'Brien, Houston, Texas, Ralph O'Brien, Smyrna, Tenn., and Jimmy O'Brien, Oxnard, Calif.; and six sisters, Etta Nixon, Margaret Roe, Myrna Shanley, and Patricia Hammonds, all of Pratt; Judy Conradson, Phoenix, Ariz., and Kathy Rohr, Arlington Heights, Ill.

Elsie Kimmel Jones
Elsie Kimmel Jones, 94, died Dec. 15, 2000, at Pratt Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services are pending with Larrison Mortuary.
Survivors include: two sons, Elster E. Kimmel, Georgia and Lee E. Kimmel, Hollister, Mo.; one daughter, Elva Kitch, Pratt; one sister, Effie Miller, Pratt.

Kenneth L. Kuhn
ST. JOHN - Kenneth L. Kuhn, 72, died March 27, 2001, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus, Great Bend. A former resident of Kinsley, he was a retired farmer and rancher.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McKillip Memorial Chapel, Kinsley. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Hillside, Kinsley.
Survivors include: wife, Judith; two sons, Kenneth L. Jr., Joplin, Mo., and Scott A., Kinsley; and a sister, Myrtle Fisher, Kinsley.

Oscar Taylor
MEDICINE LODGE - Oscar Taylor, 87, died April 10, 2001, at Lubbock, Texas. A resident of Medicine Lodge since 1947, he was a manager for Kansas Milling Co., Medicine Lodge.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
Survivors include: a son, Jerry, Lubbock, Texas; four daughters, Barbara Harbaugh, Sharon, Joan Myers, Mountain View, Calif., Myra Sue Gates, San Leandro, Calif., and Gloria Taylor, Redding, Calif.; and a stepson, Tom Gibson.

Austin Lee Jones
MULVANE - Austin Lee Jones, two months, died Oct. 31, 2001.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Smith Mortuary, Derby.
Survivors include: parents, Charlie Jones Jr. and Amy Avery, Mulvane; grandparents, Jerry and Shannon Avery and Charles Jones Jr., both of Wichita, and Bonnie Jones, Mulvane; great-grandmother Clarice O'Moore, Preston; and great-great-grandmother, Irene Engelhardt, Preston.

Jennie Marie Hobbs
LANGDON - Jennie Marie Hobbs, 81, died March 30, 2003, at Reno County Hospice House, Hutchinson.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Turon Community Church, with Pastor Steve Gill presiding. Burial will be at Lerado Cemetery, Lerado. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Larrison Funeral Home, Turon.
She was born Nov. 5, 1921, at Cunningham, the daughter of Chesner Earl and Mina Harris Park. A Langdon resident since 1986, coming from Turon, she was a retired school teacher. She taught for 35 years in the Coats, Preston, Langdon and Sylvia areas. She was a member of Turon Community Church, Kansas Teachers Association and National Teachers Association.
On Oct. 11, 1946, she married Quinten E. Hobbs at Turon. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Cynthia Geesling and husband Jerry, Turon; three granddaughters, Kalli Helm, Turon, Janna Silvay, Gilbert, Ariz., and Ronda Dudrey, Arlington; two great-granddaughters, Renae Helm and Jaden Dudrey; four brothers, Lawrence and Herbert, both of Cunningham, Marvin, Liberal, and Herman, Wichita; and a sister, Luelma Ditto, Bentonville, Ark.
She was preceded in death by two infant sisters.

Audra Pauline Pepperd
COLDWATER - Audra Pauline Pepperd, 85, died June 24, 2003, at Comanche County Hospital, Coldwater. She was born Dec. 20, 1917. A lifetime resident of the Coldwater and Wilmore areas, she was the manager for 14 years of the Branding Iron Motel, Coldwater, and also worked at Coldwater Laundry and local restaurants.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m Thursday at First Christian Church, Coldwater. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hatfield Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater.
Survivors include: six daughters, Johnita Nystrom, Greensburg, Patty Craven, Biloxi, Miss., Shirley Huck, Larned, Roberta Snyder, Wilmore, Gwen Thompson, Coldwater, and Jo Duvall, Stafford; and a brother, Robert Hackeny, Coldwater.

GARDEN CITY - Anson Brody Roth, stillborn son of Broc and Anna Roth, died Dec. 17, 2003, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
A private family graveside service will take place in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City.
Survivors include: two brothers, Cade and Zane, and a sister, Ariana, all of the home; grandparents, Bob and Robyn Roth, Garden City, Rick Hawkins, Hugoton, and Kay Alexander, Claremore, Okla.; great-grandparents, Patsy Roth, Garden City, Nora Anderson and Dorothy Hawkins, both of Hugoton, and Homer Wright, Pratt; and a great-great-grandmother, Pauline Miller, Emporia.

Avilla V. Nelson
St. John - Avilla V. Nelson, 76, died Jan. 14, 2000, at Pratt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Minnis Chapel, St. John. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John.
A longtime St. John area resident, she was a dietary manager, a sheet-metal worker during World War II, and an agent-operator for Santa Fe Railroad.
Survivors include: a son, Carl, St. John; a daughter, Lonita Holland, Hutchinson; six sisters, Marcella Degnan, Garden City, Joanna Daily and Sabina Dome, both of Ashland, Isabel Cox, St. John, Carol Duke, Fort Worth, Texas, and Patty Stevenson, Severy.

Vernon L. Ogle
STAFFORD- Vernon L. Ogle, 75, died Jan. 23, 2000, at Pratt Regional Medical Center. A lifetime Stafford resident, he worked in the oil field.

MACKSVILLE - Pauline Suiter, 92, died Feb. 17, 2000, at St. Joseph Health Center, Kansas City, Mo.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Macksville Christian Church. Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery, Macksville.
She was born May 16, 1907, at Tingley, Iowa, the daughter of John and Edna Waggoner Booth.
A lifetime Macksville resident, moving to Overland Park, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include: a son, Rollin "Bud," Macksville; two daughters, Betty Jo Gilkison, Overland Park, and Dorothy Reid, Leawood; a brother, Roy Booth, Blue Eye, Mo.
