Lexie O. Fredrick, 86, of Pratt, died Dec. 23, 2002 at Pratt. Services are pending with Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary.

Salome Marie Reif

NASHVILLE - Salome Marie Reif, 80, died Jan. 15, 2000, at Pratt Regional Medical Center.

Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Larrison Mortuary. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Leo Cemetery.

A Nashville resident for most of her life, she was a homemaker and an assistant cook at St. Leo and Cunningham schools.

Survivors include: her husband, Frank J.; five sons, Melvin, Kiowa, Jerry, Denver, Kenny, Dwight, Randy, Cairo, and Mike, Pratt; two daughters, Connie Voss, Pratt, and Marlene Kruckenberg, Kiowa; and a sister, Dorothy Kirmer, McPherson.

Memorials may be sent to Hilltop Manor Nursing Home, in care of the mortuary.

Agnes Hill

DODGE CITY- Agnes Hill, 97, former longtime resident of Dodge City, died Jan. 22, 2000, at Woodlands Health Care Center, Woodlands, Texas.

She was born March 24, 1902, in Pratt County, the daughter of Frank L. and Florinda Yadon Green.

No services are planned.

Survivors include: a son, William F., Spring, Texas; a daughter, Patricia Mullikin, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Bruce Keyes Harrel

PRATT - Bruce Keyes Harrel, 81, died Feb. 17, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Southern Baptist Church, Pratt. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.

He was born Sept. 16, 1918, at Sawyer, the son of Harley and Della Keyes Harrel.

A Pratt resident for most of his life, he was a retired farmer.

Survivors include: a son, Wynn, Pratt; two daughters, Marlene Boxler, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Gina Snyder, Asbury, Iowa.

Memorials may be sent to the Billy Graham Crusade, in care of the mortuary.

Vida May Sizemore

ST. JOHN - Vida May Sizemore, 89, died Nov. 29, 2002, at Hutchinson Hospital. She was born May 15, 1913. She was a schoolteacher for 43 years, 32 of which were at St. John, where she taught first grade.

Funeral was Sunday at Minnis Chapel, St. John. Burial was at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John.

Survivors include: a brother, Loyd Ratts, St. John; and a sister, Dr. Thelma Ratts Franklin Merrick, Duncanville, Texas.

Memorials may be sent to Church of Christ, St. John, in care of the chapel.

Helen Mae Dawson Clay

GREENSBURG - Helen Mae Dawson Clay, 81, died Feb. 20, 2000, at Valley Medical Center, Renton, Wash.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fleener Chapel, Greensburg.

She was born Sept. 9, 1918, at Kingsdown, the daughter of Fred and Cora Padget Mowry.

A Renton resident since 1996, formerly a longtime Greensburg resident, she was a sheriff's office dispatcher for 18 years, retiring in 1984.

Survivors include: three sons, Leroy, Lamar, Colo., Steve, Greensburg, and Isom, Columbiana, Ala.; three daughters, Leila Dawson and Jackie Scheurman, both of Greensburg, and Leoma Hixson, Renton; and a stepson, Raymond Clay, Wichita.

Memorials may be sent to the Kiowa County Senior Center, in care of the funeral home.

Ervin T. Levens

SYRACUSE - Ervin T. Levens, 92, died Jan. 16, 2000, at Hamilton County Hospital, Syracuse.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. MST Wednesday in Syracuse Cemetery. Greene Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Pratt County, he was a Hamilton County resident since 1931. He was a farmer and rancher.

Survivors include: two sisters, Opal Johnston, Syracuse, and Pearl Wait, Lexington, Mo.

Lenora B. Wienholtz

April 28, 1913-Nov. 8, 1999

LAKE CITY - Lenora "Bea" Wienholtz, 86, died Nov. 8, 1999.

She was born April 28, 1913, at Lake City, the daughter of L. B. and Nora Redwine. She graduated from Lake City High School.

In 1934, she married Franz Wienholtz, who came to Pratt from Germany.

They moved to Olympia in 1947.

Survivors include: two daughters, B. B. Larz and Jada Lymm; a sister, Peggy Keller; two grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Theodore "Carl' Hagan

NEWTON - Theodore "Carl" Hagan, 89, died Jan. 14, 2000, at his home in Newton. A retired businessman, he was a high school principal during the 1930s and 1940s for the Preston and Newton school districts.

Funeral service was Monday morning at Ascension Lutheran Church, Wichita. Burial was in Haynesville Cemetery, rural Preston, under the direction of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.

Survivors include: his wife, Patience "Pat," of the home; a son, Robert Carl, Goddard; a daughter, Marceil Hagan, Denver, Colo.; and two sisters, Billie Bumgarner, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Eileen McTeauge, Boca Raton, Fla.

Vincent V. Hewitt

GARDEN CITY - Vincent V. Hewitt, 75, died Feb. 18, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City.

He was born May 26, 1924, at La Cygne, the son of James Walter and Florence Pauline Kuhn Hewitt.

Survivors include: a son, Alvin V., Greensburg; two daughters, Sandra M. Peterson, Boxholme, Iowa, and Vicky Hendricks, San Diego.

Memorials may be sent to Ronald McDonald House or the Pioneer Club, both in care of the funeral home.

Edwin H. "Pat' Patterson

Edwin H. "Pat" Patterson, 91, died Aug. 15, 2000, at Pratt Regional Medical Center. A Pratt resident since 1996, coming from Mesa, Ariz., he was a retired realtor.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Larrison Mortuary. Graveside service will be at 2:30 ap.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may cal from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the mortuary.

Survivors include: wife, Ruby D. Van Voorhis Patterson; a daughter, Norma Jeanne Kalbach, Commerce City, Colo.; three stepdaughters, Linda Swonger, Pratt, Jolene Simon, South Phoenix, Ariz., and Myrna McKee, Tempe, Ariz.; and two stepsons, Steve Mills, Pratt, and Bruce Mills, Alliance, Neb.

Memorials may be sent to Our Saviour Lutheran Church Elevator Fund, in care of the mortuary.

Harvey Harold Miller

GREENSBURG - Harvey Harold Miller, 86, died Sept. 8, 2000, at his home in Greensburg.

Funeral service was Monday at the First Christian Church, Greensburg, with the Rev. Gregg Childress officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg, was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Aug. 17, 1914, in Greensburg, the son of Alvin B. and Effie Pinkston Miller. A lifetime Kiowa County resident, he was a farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Greensburg.

On April 15, 1939, he married Alberta Fark at Dodge City. She died Sept. 23, 1988. On Oct. 25, 1989, he married Marie L. Harmon Wirth at Greensburg. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Gerald (Jerry), Reno, Nev.; a stepson, Chris Wirth, Haviland; a daughter, Carol J. Miller Brooks, Overland Park; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy Allen, Orlo Alvin, Marvin Ross, Walter Wayne and Melvin Bern; and three sisters, Elsie Jane Stewart, Daisy Ellen Weidmark and Maggie May Axtell.

Memorials may be sent to the church or to South Wind Hospice, both in care of Greensburg State Bank or the funeral home.

Iva Lavinia Clark

ARTESIA, N.M. - Iva Lavinia Clark, 96, died Aug. 12, 2001, at Good Samaritan Care Center, Artesia, N.M. A longtime resident of Artesia, N.M., formerly of Pratt, she was a homemaker.

Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Artesia. Graveside services will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Terpening Funeral Home, Artesia, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include: two sisters, Mary Lois (Jackson) Miller, Artesia, and Ruby Floyd, Burnet, Texas.

Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church in Artesia.
