Edna A. Dedman
Services for Edna A. Dedman, 86, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Thatcher Funeral Home, 1520 N. Fifth Street, KCK.
Cremation.
Mrs. Dedman died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at Del Mar Gardens. She was born April 29, 1915 in Coffeyville, Kan.
Surviving are one brother, Frederick S. Walker, KCK, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Charles R. Fischer
Services for Charles R. Fischer, 94, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at the Porter Funeral home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. KCK.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Big Brother & Big Sisters, 3909 Washington, Kansas City, Mo. 64111.
Mr. Fischer died Thursday, Nov. 1. 2001 at the Presbyterian Manor. He was born Sept 13, 1907 in Spring Hill, Pa., and had been a resident of KCK since 1909. He was a boiler operator with Armour and Co. for 46 years, and retired from G.A.F. in 1973. He had been a union organizer and for 25 years handled contract negotiations for the United Packing House Workers of America.
His wife, Cleo, preceded him in death on Sept 24, 1999.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara, Missoula, Mont.; and Janet, KCK; one sister, Twila "Toodie" Coffey, Morehead, Ky.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchilren.
Oscar Harper Sr.
Graveside services for Oscar Harper Sr., 88, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel, KCK.
Mr Harper died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001 at Alzheimer's Center of Kansas City. He was born in Holly Springs, Miss. He was a laborer for Wilson Packing Plant.
Surviving are two brothers, Oscar Harper III, Chicago, Ill.; Jimmy Harper, Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Sarlan Harper, Memphis, Luvengia Harper, Chicago, and Emma Harper, Memphis.
Norman E. Holmes
A Mass of Christian Burial for Norman E. Holmes, 73, Kansas City, Kan., will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Meyers Family Funeral Home, 6300 Parallel Parkway.
Mr. Holmes died Nov. 2, 2001 at the home. He was born Oct. 29, 1928 in KCK and was a lifelong resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the 69th Engineering Topographic Co. during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Norman E. Holmes Land Surveyors. He was a member of the Wyandotte County Optimists and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Antoinette Holmes, of the home, and many nieces and nephews.
Louise M. Jeselnik
Services for Louise M. Jeselnik, 89, Lansing, Kan. will be at 1 p.m. today at Butler-Fulton-Nickel Chapel, 22 S. 18th St. KCK.
Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, KCK.
Mrs. Jeselnik died Oct. 31, 2001 at St. John's Hospital, Leavenworth, Kan. She was born Dec. 17, 1911 in Kansas City, Kan. She was an order entry clerk for Sears Roebuck Co. She retired in 1976, after 37 years of service.
Surviving are one son, Robert H. Jeselnik, Leavenworth, Kan.; one brother, David Zutterman, KCK; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Faye B. Norman
A memorial service for Faye B. Norman, 91, Indian Trails, N.C., formerly of Kansas City, Kan., will be at 1 p.m., Monday, at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 6630 Nall, Mission, Kan.
Cremation. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church, 29th & Minnesota, Kansas City, Kan. 66102.
Mrs. Norman died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001 at the Carolina Medical Center. She was born Jan, 19, 1910, in Osage City, Mo. and had been a resident of the Kansas City area for 69 years. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis E. Norman, one sister, Lois Tawney, and one brother, Gene Wise.
Surviving are one son, Richard Norman, Overland Park, Kan., one daughter, Donna Foster, Charlotte, N.C., four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Walter Roschitz
A Mass of Christian Burial for Walter Roschitz, 67, Kansas City, Kan., will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary & St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Skradski Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. The family suggests memorials to Christ the King Catholic Church, St. Mary & St. Anthony Church, or Catholic Charities.
Mr. Roschitz died Nov. 1, 2001 at Providence Medical Center. He was born in Grodec No. 3, Slovenia. He came to the United States in 1952 and became a U.S. in 1957. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed at TWA for over 32 years, retiring in 1996. Prior to TWA he worked for Best Tool Co. and the May Tool Co.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Josef, Willi, and Albert Roschitz and his sister, Rezi Schuss.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Kathy Zlata Roschitz of the home; three children, Anita K. Schumann, Boulder, Colo.; Frank W. Roschitz, Hong Kong, Sherry Roschitz, KCK; one brother; Ernest Roschitz, Shawnee Mission, Kan.; two sister; Erna Stitz, Overland Park, Kan.; Anne Marie Deakos, Troy, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
Vernon A. Sims
Services for Vernon A. Sims, 79, Lenexa, Kan., will be at 11 p.m. today at Maple Hill Funeral home.
Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Sims died Nov. 1, 2001, at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was born in Sturgeon, Mo. ,and had lived in the Kansas City area since 1946. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He worked as a truck driver for Skelly Oil Co. for 32 years and was recognized for completing one million accident-free miles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, last August. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Marilynn J. Ford, Overland Park, Kan.; one son, Jerry E. Sims, Lenexa, Kan.; four sisters, Nina Wilhite, Overland Park, Kan.; Lillian Sims, KCK; Delphine Hengstler, Reno, Nev.; Mary Elva Rowland, Harrisburg, Mo.; two brothers, Gerald Sims and Richard Sims, both of Hallsville, Mo.; three granchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Virginia E. Brown
Virginia E. Brown, 85, Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Medicalodge North. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3 in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery

Virginia was born June 17, 1917, in KCK.
Survivors include a nephew Nick Dalano, Kansas City, Mo.; and one niece.
Juanita B. Carver
Juanita B. Carver, 90, Kansas City, Kan., passed away Jan. 29, 2003, at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Raymond Cox
Raymond Cox, 73, Kansas City, Kan., died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 am. Monday, Feb. 3 at the Porter Funeral Home, KCK. Raymond was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Bethel, Kan. He was a switchman for the Santa Fe railroad for 38 years, retiring in 1992. He also was a reserve officer for the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Department for 23 years, retiring in 2002.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joann Cox, of the home; two daughters, Marsha Chaffin, and husband, Ray, KCK, and Sarah Forrest, and husband, Frank, KCK; seven grandchildren, Kurt, Colette, Kathleen, Darrell, Jeanette, Laura and Heather.
Arthur Joseph "Jody" Fitchett
Arthur Joseph "Jody" Fitchett, 48, Kansas City, Mo., passed away Jan. 29, 2003. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3 at Our lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 W. Rose Mildred A. Noches
Rose Mildred A. Noches, 84, Lawrence, Kan., died Jan. 28, 2003, at her home. Services will be noon Feb. 1 at Bowser Johnson Funeral Chapel. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka, Kan. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at the funeral home.
Ruth Elizabeth Harris
Ruth Elizabeth Harris, 81, Kansas City, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at the Blue River Care Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the Salem Baptist church. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. at the church on Tuesday. Burial at Highland Park Cemetery.
Ruth Elizabeth Harris was born on Oct. 22, 1921, to the union of George Dixon Sr., and Madge (Carson) Dixon. Both preceded her in death.
Ruth married Wilbert Love and to the union two children were born. Ruth later united in holy matrimony to Joseph Harris, and to this union one child was born. Ruth cared for Joseph Harris until his death. Ruth was a dedicated mother and housewife. She was lead to Christ by the Rev. Bailey and became a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister, Helen Dixon, of KCMO; one son, Herman Love Sr., Raytown, Mo.; two daughters, Marva (Vendon) Scruggs Sr., Grandview, Mo., and Joetta Love, KCMO; one nephew, Arthur Wooten, Henderson, Nev., which she raised as a son; seven grandchildren, Venita L. (Walter) Hodge, Victoria Love, Vendon Scruggs Jr., Kimberly (Tony) Lewis, Herman Love Jr., Lynette Scruggs and Andre Love; and eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Dorothy J. Lovich
Dorothy J. Lovich, 90, Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at the Villa St. Francis in Olathe, Kan. Survivors include her daughter, Delores Mooneyham; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters; one brother, Bernie Jastrzemski; and three sisters Marie Wasko, Lorraine Haling, Isabelle Roberts; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne Joseph Mikijanis
Wayne Joseph Mikijanis, 51, LaCygne, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at Olathe Medical Center. Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the Porter Funeral Home. Cremation. Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
Mr. Mikijanis was born Sept. 30, 1951, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Louise Mikijanis.
