Joseph N. Fabac

A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph N. Fabac, 83, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Entombment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Skradski Funeral Home, where the rosary will be said at 6 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the St. Patrick's Church.

Mr. Fabac died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Providence Medical Center. He was born in KCK, and was a lifelong resident. He was employed on the assembly line at General Motors - Fairfax for 40 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and its Shamrock Club. He was also a member of the American Legion and the United Auto Worker's Union. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

His wife, Virginia Fabac; his parents; three brothers; and one sister all preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Pennie Rammelkamp, Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Helen M. Jarsulic, KCK; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Isaac R. Hunter

Services for Isaac R. Hunter, 62, Overland Park, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Rising Star Baptist Church, Kansas City, Kan.

Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hunter died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 17, 1939, in Tilla, Ark. He was a laborer for a construction company. He was a member of the Rising Star Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Jerry V. Hunter, of the home; three daughters, Diana R. Grayson and Tyara Z. Hunter, both of KCK, and Corrissa Hunter, Iowa; five step-sons, Willie Killion, Kansas City, Mo., James Union, Reginald Warren and Emanuel Butler, all of KCK, and Jeffrey Butler, San Diego, Calif.; three step-daughters, Bridgett Hatchett and Adrianne Hatchett, both of K. C., Mo., and Felicia Hatchett, KCK; three brothers, Joseph Hunter, Jay Cee Hunter and John Hunter, all of KCK; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

William T. Jackson

Services for William T. "Bill" Jackson, 78, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Maple Hill Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Emerson Park Christian Church.

Mr. Jackson died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at the Bethany Medical Center. He was born Sept. 21, 1922, in KCK. He graduated from Rosedale High School and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He worked at American Can Co. of North Kansas City, and then later retired from Allied Signal in 1987. He was a member of the Ben Hur Masonic Lodge; a past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star, Mendias Chapter; a Past Associate Guardian of Job's Daughters, Bethel No. 24, and the Emerson Park Christian Church as well as the Shawnee Boulevard Christian Church.

His wife, Florence Margaret Jackson, died in 1982.

Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Paschke and Debra Boyert, both of KCK, and Margaret Wortman, Overland Park, Kan.; one sister, Bonnie Harlow, Canyon Lake, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Loraine E. Robinson

Services for Loraine E. Robinson, 68, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Quindaro, 3030 Farrow, KCK.

Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Quindaro Youth Department, 3030 Farrow, KCK 66104. The Thatcher Funeral Home, 1520 N. Fifth St., KCK, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Robinson died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Providence Medical Center. She was born May 9, 1932, in Tupelo, Miss. She had worked for an electrical manufacturing company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Quindaro.

Surviving are three sons; two daughters; six brothers; two sisters; many nieces and nephews; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Patrocoa Vidauri

Services for Patricia Vidauri, 62, Edwardsville, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Simmons Funeral Home, 1404 S. 37th St., Kansas City, Kan.

Burial will be in the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vidauri died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Providence Medical Center. She was born March 10, 1938, in Inez, Ky. She was a physical therapist for Providence Medical Center, and then an artist for the Artex Co.

Surviving are her husband, Peter Vidauri, of the home; two daughters, Delores Merriott and Kathy Callanhan, both of KCK; one son, Gerald White, Edwardsville; four sisters, Peggy Carter, Olathe, Kan., Irene Barker, KCK, Mary Thompson, Mound City, Kan., and Ilene LeMasters, Mansfield, Ohio; one brother, George Spears, Mansfield; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Marvin Bass Sr.

Marvin Bass Sr., 81, Kansas City, Kan., died May 23, 2003, at the Manor of Kansas City. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Eighth Street Baptist Church. Visitation will be 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Ruston, La.

Survivors include sons, Maurice Bass, Aurice Bass, Marvin Bass Jr., and Marcus Bass, all of KCK; one brother, Goldman (Jack) Bass, Houston, Texas; one sister, Mary Jo Jordon, Houston; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.

George W. Davis

George W. Davis, 87, Tonganoxie, Kan., died Friday, May 23, 2003, at Providence Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 2 at the Highland Park Funeral Home. Enbombment in Highland Park Mausoleum. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where Masonic services will be at noon.

Mr. Davis was born in Rosedale. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly A. Smith in 2002.

He is survived by his wife Zenobia Davis, of the home; one brother, Edward Davis, Columbus, Ga.; two sisters, Maxine Brooks, Kansas City, Mo., and Mabel Fouse, California; and one granddaughter.

Richard V. Devine

Richard V. Devine, 45, Kansas City, Kan., passed away May 25, 2003, at the home. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday, May 30 at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Friends may call 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Devine was born in Sterling, Ill.

Survivors include one son, Andy Wayne Devine, Independence, Mo.; his father, Keith Devine, Sterling; one brother, Dale Devine, Woodward, Iowa; and one sister, Diane Duchay, Sterling.

Harry F. Hargis

Harry F. Hargis, 80, Kansas City, Kan., died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at his home. The Funeral Liturgy will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Christ the King Catholic church. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 30 at the Porter Funeral Home, where a Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 2220 Central Ave., KCK 66102-4797.

Harry was born July 27, 1922, in KCK.

He is survived by one daughter, Karen Steffens, Overland Park, Kan.; one son, Dennis Hargis, KCK; one brother, Donald Hargis, KCK; and four grandchildren.

Margaret McDonald

Margaret McDonald, 83, Kansas City, Kan., died Friday, May 23, 2003, at Truman Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in the Cathedral of St. Peter, Wednesday, May 28. Inurnment was in St. John's Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Sisters, Servants of Mary, or to the Cathedral.

Margaret was born Feb. 13, 1920, and was a lifelong resident. She attended St. Rose of Lima Grade School and was an alumnus of Bishop Ward High School, attended the College of Commerce and later graduated from Donnelly College. Margaret was a legal secretary for many years. She retired from the Social Security Administration in 1980. Margaret was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter and its Altar Society. She was a past volunteer for the Cancer Society and worked in the Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of the National Secretaries Association and a charter member of the Daughters of Isabella, Our Lady of Fatima Circle.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Lynne McDonald, and brothers, James McDonald, Francis McDonald, Bernard McDonald, and sisters, Mary McDonald, Geraldine McDonald and Frances Gabel.

Margaret will be deeply missed by her brother, John McDonald, Kansas City, Mo., and sisters, Helen Bielski, KCK, and Delores Higgins of Prince George, Va.

Rosemary Wilson Tate

Rosemary Wilson Tate, 84, Shawnee Mission, Kan., passed away Tuesday, May 27 at KU Medical center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Elliott Funeral Home, Atlanta, Mo. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmer Cemetery.

Gertie Mae Brown

Bertie Mae Brown, 82, Kansas City, Kan., died June 10, 2003, at Providence Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 16 at the Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. June 16 at the chapel. Burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 20, 1920, in Boley, Okla.

JaMaz D. Epps

JaMaz D. Epps, 23, Kansas City, Kan., died at Seventh Street and Central Avenue. Services will be 11 a.m. June 13 at the Greater Pentecostal Temple. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. June 13 at the church. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 4, 1979.

Survivors include his mother, Vickie Ouni, KCK; paternal grandmother, Rosayln Epps, KCK; paternal grandfather, Jasper Epps Sr., KCK; JaMaz D. Epps II, of the home; his father, Jasper Epps Jr., KCK; maternal grandmother, Kathryn A. Ross, KCK; fiance Cynthia Forte, KCK; five brothers, Jaron L. Hayes, KCK, Jasmon Epps, Delorean Epps and Dezmond Epps, Sacramento, Calif., Jamario Epps, Atlanta; and one sister, Jamille Epps, Atlanta.

Julius C. Fernandez

Julius C. Fernandez, 76, Kansas City, Kan., found eternal peace on June 10, 2003, at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center. in the company of his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 13 at the Maple Hill Funeral Home where the Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. The family suggests contributions to the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, St. Joseph-St. Benedict or the Shawnee American Legion Post 327.

Julius "Julio" Costello Fernandez was born in Salina, Kan., on Jan. 28, 1927, in Jose Costello and Juanita Rodriguez Fernandez. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving on the U.S.S. Pennsylvania and the U.S.S. Tranquility. For his war service he received award for Point System, Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and American Campaign Ribbon. After the war, he went to school for air-conditioning and refrigeration service and worked for Alco Valve in St. Louis, before moving to Wichita, Kan., in 1960. After moving to Kansas City in 1965, he was employed by TWA, where he retired in 1986, with 21 years of service. He enjoyed managing local Mexican bands and recording music. He married Pauline Soto in 1950. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Julia Gilpin, Overland Park, Kan., and Mrs. Catherine Bruno, Prairie Village, Kan., and three sons, Mr. Anthony Gernandez, Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. Christopher Fernande, Overland Park, and Richard Fernandez, Denver. Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph C. Gernandez, Salina, Kan., and Charles "Angel" Fernandez, St. Louis. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Julius was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Frances Fernandez, and one brother, Thomas Fernandez.

Robert Roy Monroe

Robert Roy Monroe, 60, Kansas City, Kan., died Monday, June 9, 2003, at Providence Medical Center. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14 at the Salem Baptist Church. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 16 in Leavenworth National Cemetery.

He was born June 13, 1942, in KCK.

Survivors include his wife Norma Monroe, KCK; one son, Dion Eric Monroe, Overland Park, Kan.; three daughters, Leslie Ann Lee, Kimberly Rachelle Monroe and Ebony Tennille Leapheart, all of KCK; Myron Nelson, Kansas City, Mo., Edward Michael Gee, Detroit, Mich., Frederick Carl Gee, Los Angeles, and Hugh Milton Gee, KCMO; three sisters, Victoria Gee and Carolyn Gee, both of KCMO, and Sharon Garrett, Los Angeles; and five grandchildren.

Donald E. Stewart

Donald E. Stewart, 79, Kansas City, Kan., died June 10, 2003, at the Trinity Lutheran Manor. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. June 16 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Donald was born April 29, 1924 in KCK.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; one daughter, Eileen Satchell; and two grandchildren.

Dorothy "Dot" Kooser

Dorothy "Dot" Kooser age 77, of Basehor, Kan., passed away on Monday Aug. 4, 2003 at the Delmar Garders of Overland Park, Kan. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with the burial to follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Topeka, Kan. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born the youngest of seven children on Apr. 14, 1926 in Kansas City, Kan., to Eliza Jane Vanselous Dearinger and William J. Dearinger. She is preceded in death by her four brothers, Ralph, Earl, Murl, and Archie Dearinger and two sisters, Pearl Brauer and Hazel Chase. Dorothy was blessed with two sons Michael R. Streeter Kooser and Jerry L Streeter Kooser who were both adopted by her loving husband Berton Koose,r whom she married on Apr. 15, 1967.

Dorothy had worked for Pyramid Life insurance company and Glen Falls Insurance Company before going to work for Trans World Airlines on Sept. 22, 1966. She retired from TWA on Oct. 1, 1985. Survivors include her husband Berton J. Kooser and son Michael R. Streeter Kooser of the home and son Jerry L. Streeter Kooser and wife Cari of Fairmont, Kan., eleven grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
