Jennifer Kay Greenlee, 30, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Aug. 3, 2003 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 - 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ms. Greenlee was born July 21, 1973 in Kansas City, Kan., and was a life long resident. Jennifer graduated from Wyandotte High School and was a member of the Willard Ave. Baptist Church. Survivors include mother and father, Virginia and John Greenlee of the home; brothers, Kenneth Greenlee, Dennis Greenlee of Kansas City, Kan., and Jeff Greenlee of Overland Park, Kan.; sister Valerie Greenlee; nephews, Matt and Kyle Greenlee and J.J. and Ricky Hernandez.

Herman Mitchem

Herman Mitchem , 92, of Kansas City , Kan., died Aug. 2, 2003 at KU Medical Center. Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Mason Memorial United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Mitchem was born in Lanty, Kan., Feb. 22, 1911. Survivors include wife Opal Mitchem; daughter Annetta Sims; son Herman Mitchem. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Cancer Action Inc., 1831 Minnesota Ave., KCK.

Beatrice A. (Jacobs) Fine

Beatrice A. (Bea) Fine, 84 Leavenworth, Kan., formerly of Kansas City, Kan., went to be with her Lord Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003 at Providence Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the Funeral Home. the family suggests contributions to the Arthritis Foundation, the American Diabetes Association or Gospel Temple Church.

Bea was born Nov. 11, 1918 in Kansas City, Kan. A long standing member of Gospel Temple Church. Bea was a homemaker, wonderful wife, sister, grandmother and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil, one sister and seven brothers. Survivors include one son, Ronald Fine; three daughters, Lila Keedy, Loretta Garrett, and Dixie Rutledge; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one sister, Nancy Taylor.

Debora Rose Jordan

Debora Rose Conde-Jordan, 45, of Basehor, Kan., and previously of Bonner Springs passed away on Monday Aug. 4, 2003 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 6, 2003 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with the burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, KCK. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the Debbie Jordan Memorial Fund and may be sent to Alden-Harrington Funeral Hom, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, Kan.

Debbie was born July 29, 1958 in Kansas City,Mo. She was a graduate of Wyandotte High School and married to Jerry Jordan whom preceded her in death in 1998. Debbie lived in the Kansas City, Kan., and Bonner Springs and Basehor areas her entire life and worked at Providence medical Center.

Survivors include one daughter, Angela Jordan and one son, Jason Jordan, both of the home. One brother, Carl J. Conde and wife Delores and one sister, Pam Filardo and husband Carl; five Nephews, one niece, one grandson Noah Wyatt J.C. Jordan of the home.

Oron Lloyd Daniels

Oron Lloyd Daniels, 89, Mission, Kan., formerly of Ft. Worth, Texas, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at the Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center. Private family services will be held Sunday, Oct. 5. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Ft. Worth, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be sent to the Ex-Students Association of Weatherford College, 308 E. Park, Weatherford, TX 76086, the Shepherd's Center of Kansas City, KS., 51 N. 12th St., KCK 66102, or Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries, 3031 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64109.

Lloyd was born Oct. 23, 1913, in Wolf City, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Howard.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Catherine, Mission; two sons, Bill, Los Angeles, and Raymond, KC; two grandchildren, Sonja Daniels, Madison, Wisc., Kurt Daniels, Arlington, Texas; and two great-grandchildren.

Edward Estrada

Edward Estrada, 38, Kansas City area, passed away Sept. 29, 2003, at KU Med Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 26th Street and Madison Avenue, Kansas City, Mo. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers the family asks for contributions to the funeral home to help pay expenses.

Cleophus K. Flewellen

Cleophus K. Flewellen, 91, Kansas City, Kan., died Sept. 29, 2003, at the home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, 2310 E. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Chester "Chet" Arthur Kerns Jr.

Chester "Chet" Arthur Kerns Jr., age 73, a lifelong Edwardsville resident, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at his home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Action or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, both in care of funeral home.

Chet was born on March 5, 1930, in Edwardsville.

Survivors include his wife Connie Carol Kerns, of the home; one daughter, Glenda L. Rider and husband Joseph, Bonner Springs; two sons, Chester A. Kerns III, and Cynthia Kerns, Bonner Springs, and Gail L. Kerns, Erie, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.

Vesta E. Taylor

Vesta E. Taylor, 86, Shawnee, Kan., died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at her home. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6 at Judson Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. at the church before the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.

She was born Sept. 8, 1917, in Waldron, Ark. She was a charter member of the Judson Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Delbert W. Taylor, in August of this year, and one son.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Young, Shawnee; two sons, James Arthur Taylor, Aurora, Colo., and John Michael Taylor, Mansfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Arthur R. Graham

Services for Arthur R. Graham, 80, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Highland Park Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Salvation Army Children's Christmas Fund.

Mr. Graham died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Providence Medical Center. He was born in KCK, and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Sunset Hills Christian Church. He was a mechanic for TWA, retiring in 1981 after 35 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Geraldine "Jerry" Graham, of the home; two sons, Richard A. Graham, Basehor, Kan., and Robert D. Graham, Nolansville, Tenn.; one daughter, Sandy Molleson, KCK; one brother, Donald E. Graham, KCK; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Marjean Jones-Watson

Services for Marjean Jones-Watson, 52, Long Beach, Calif., will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, Kansas City, Kan.

Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. The Lawrence A. Jones and Son Funeral Home, Kansas Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jones-Watson died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000. She was born Dec. 19, 1947. She was a member of the Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Surviving are two sons, John E. Watson Jr., Long Beach, and Christopher D. Watson Sr., KCK; one daughter, Christine D. Watson, Atlanta, Ga.; one step-daughter, Janna Smith, Kansas City, Mo.; her mother, Everlee Faulker-Jones; five brothers, Herbert Jones, K. C., Mo., Hugh Faulker-Jones, Lansing, Mich., Ted S. Jones and Jerry Jones Sr., both of KCK, and Tom Jones, Long Beach; and two sisters, Marilee Jones-Cofield, Carson, Calif., and Elizabeth Bunion-Hood, Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Eula B. McElwee

Services for Eula Brooks McElwee, 81, Merriam, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mount Olive Baptist Church, 9220 W. 50th, Merriam.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The Amos Family Funeral Home of Shawnee is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McElwee died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She was born in Rentiesville, Okla., and had lived in this area the past 60 years. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, William McElwee, of the home; three sisters, Naomi Burkett, Bertha Allen and Marjorie Childress; one brother, Harvey Brooks, all of Kansas City, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Frank Meschino Jr.

Services for Frank Meschino Jr., 29, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Shawnee Full Gospel Church, 4830 Shawnee Drive, KCK.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorials to the family, c/o P.O. Box 13414, Edwardsville, Kan., 66113. The Kansas City Funeral Directors, 4880 Shawnee Dr., KCK, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Meschino died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Providence Medical Center.

Surviving are his lifelong companion, Deborah Meschino, of the home; two sons, Jedidiah Johnson and Malachi Johnson; one step-son, Kalen Warren; his mother and step-father, Barbara Barnett and Harold Jordan, Edwardsville, Kan.; his father and step-mother, Frank and Connie Meschino, Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Lenny Meschino, Lenexa, Kan., James Meschino, KCK, and Antonio Meschino, Edwardsville; two sisters, Sandra Vetter, North Kansas City, Mo., and Barbara Miller, Leawood, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.

Sonja D. Morris

Services for Sonja D. Morris, 57, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mount Carmel Church of God in Christ, KCK.

Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Morris died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at the home. She was born Nov. 27, 1942, in New Haven, Conn. She had been a secretary for a real estate company. She was a member of Mount Carmel Church of God in Christ, the praise team, and secretary of the board of directors.

Surviving are her husband, Walter G. Morris Sr., of the home; one step-son, Walter G. Morris Jr., KCK; one daughter, Crystal G. Morris-Johnson, Kansas City, Mo.; her father, Robert Williams; her mother, Nina Williams; one brother, Frankie Williams, all of New Haven; two step-brothers, Robert Lee, Topeka, Kan., and Michael Lee, KCK; two step-sisters, Gwendolyn Scott, Topeka, and Peggy Cowley, Olathe, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Joseph C. Abina

Joseph C. Abina, 52, Kansas City, Kan., formerly of Sunnyvale, Calif., died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Kansas University Medical Center.

Cremation. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th St., KCK., where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Abina was born in Fresno, Calif., and had moved to this area in 1996. He was a Catholic.

His father, Chavelo Abina, preceded him in death.

Surviving are one son, Adrian Abina, Gilroy, Calif.; his mother, Armeda Abina, KCK; and four brothers, Robert Abina and Jorge Abina, both of Sunnyvale, Edward Abina, Kansas City, Mo., and Albert Abina, KCK.

Lora E. Burriss

Services for Lora E. Burriss, 100, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Simmons Funeral Home, 1404 S. 37th St., KCK.

Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Metropolitan Avenue United Methodist Church and/or to the Cancer Action, Inc.

Mrs. Burriss died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at the Presbyterian Manor. She was born Dec. 10, 1900, in KCK, and was a lifelong resident. She was a bookkeeper for the Argentine Savings and Loan, retiring in 1967. She was a 90-year member of the Metropolitan Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a Past Matron of Tirzah Chapter, No. 85 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She organized the Silver City Chapter No. 940 of the A.A.R.P. She also started the Cancer Action group at the church and the XYZ Club.

Her husband, Cecil Burriss, died in 1952; and one brother, Rolla Brooks, died in 1970.

Surviving are two step-sisters, Gladys Tush, KCK, and Harriett Tush, Olathe, Kan.; one nephew; Paul Aaron Brooks, Seattle, Wash.; one great-nephew, David Brooks, Burbank, Calif.; and seven step-nephews and nieces.

Verda D. Hollister

Services for Verda "Penny" Dugan Hollister, 73, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Maple Hill Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hollister died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at the Providence Medical Center. She was a lifelong KCK resident. She worked in the central kitchen for the KCK School District.

Two sons, Jack McCord and Raymond McCord, preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Wayne Hollister, of the home; two daughters, Janet Gunn-Knight, Rantoul, Kan., and Helen Dixon; two sons, Lloyd Hollister and Ed Hollister, all of KCK; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
