Services for Carrie M. Andrews, 89, Gardner, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Cedar Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 32665 Lexington Ave., DeSoto, Kan.

Burial will be in the DeSoto Cemtery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Andrews died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at the home in Vintage Park. She was born Dec. 8, 1911, in Chaney, Mo. She had lived in DeSoto for 49 years. She had made her home in West Plains, Mo., before moving to Sunflower, Kan. in 1951. She and her husband had worked at the Hercules Power Plant. She was a member of the DeSoto Baptist Church.

Her parents, Charley and Martha Fleetwood; one son, Ray Jr. Lane; and four sisters, Lucille Fleetwood, Irene Fleetwood, Leona Dowling and Maggie Collins, all preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Mike Lane, Stockton, Mo.; one daughter, Ruby Thorp, DeSoto; two sisters, Lola Dowling, Elwood, Ind., and Lorene Marsh, Gladstone, Mo.; two grandchildren; one step-grandson; four great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson.

Sarah M. Jones-Rancifer

Services for Sarah Mae Jones-Rancifer, 37, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Morning Star Baptist Church, Gunnison, Miss.

Burial will be in the Morning Star Cemetery, Gunnison, Miss. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Funeral Home in KCK.

Mrs. Jones-Rancifer died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Kansas University Medical Center from an automobile accident. She was born Sept. 29, 1963, in Shelby, Miss. She was a dietitian at St. Luke's Hospital and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas J. Rancifer, of the home; three sons, Jermaine Jones, Jerome Jones and Will Branscomb; one daughter, Laretha Branscomb, all of KCK; 13 brothers, Howard Jones, Willie Jones Jr., and Mack C. Jones, all of Gunnison, Miss., Roosevelt Jones, Shelby, Miss., Percy Lee Jones, Jimmy Lee Jones, Curtis Lee Jones, George W. Jones, Manuel Jones, Cleotha Williams, Michael Williams, Richard Williams and Sylvester Williams, all of Peoria, Ill.; and four sisters, Isabel Ford, Rosedale, Miss., Mary Wade and Benita Jones, both of Peoria, Ill., and Diane Williams, Chicago, Ill.

William M. Martin

Services for William M. Martin, 73, Kansas City, Kan., were held today at the Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Funeral Home.

Burial was in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Mr. Martin died Monday, May 21, 2001, at the Medicalodge Post Acute Care Center. He was born March 25, 1928, in Liberty, Miss. He had been a stock clerk for Safeway Grocery Store for 29 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was an Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Hellene Q. Martin, of the home; one son, William C. Martin, White Plains, Md.; two daughters, Kimberly A. Martin, Overland Park, Kan., and Lynn Reed, Derby, Kan.; one brother, Lamar Martin, KCK; five sisters, Bessie Harton, KCK, Arlevia Rogers, San Francisco, Calif., Nancy Coleman, Dallas, Texas, Johnnie Hughes, Liberty, Miss., and Doris Jackson, Chicago, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Joseph A. McAfee

Services for Joseph A. McAfee, 76, Kansas City, Kan. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. McAfee died Monday, May 21, 2001, at the Saint Joseph Health Center. He was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Fort Scott, Kan. He had been a foreman for Armour Packing House for 44 years. He was a Navy veteran.

Surviving are three sons, Greg McAfee, Oklahoma City, Okla., Jackie McAfee, Denver, Colo., and Mark McAfee, Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Stephanie London and Tracey Pearson, both of Kansas City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Rosalie N. Thompson

Services for Rosalie N. Thompson, 77, Kansas City, Kan. will be at 11 a.m. at the St. Paul AME Church, KCK.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Thompson died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at Providence Medical Center. She was born April 17, 1924, in Wills Point, Texas. She was a social worker at DFS State Government. She was a member of the St. Paul AME Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Trenita Y. Selkirk, KCK; one sister, Club Chazzalites, KCK; four foster sisters, Mary Shaw, Milwaukee, Wis., Evonne McConnell, Carol Allen and Mary Allen; a good friend, Lois Watson, all of KCK; and two grandchildren.

Robert L. Wiedersberg Jr.

Visitation only for Robert L. Wiedersberg Jr., 50, Kansas City, Kan., will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kansas City Funeral Directors, 4880 Shawnee Drive, KCK.

The family suggests memorials to the Cancer Research Foundation.

Mr. Wiedersberg died Monday, May 21, 2001, at the Post Acute Care Center. He was born May 22, 1950, in Chicago, Ill. He had lived in KCK for most of his life. He was a member of the Riverview Methodist Church.

One brother, Victor Wiedersberg, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Wiedersberg, of the home; one daughter, Sabrina Wiedersberg; two sons, Charles Wiedersberg and Robert Wiedersberg III, all of Grandview, Mo.; his parents, Robert and Mary Wiedersberg, Overland Park, Kan.; one sister, Elise Tipton, Beaver, Wash.; and one brother, Everett Wiedersberg, Olathe, Kan.

Shirley A. Bellmyer

Graveside services for Shirley Ann Bellmyer, 62, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. Sixth St., where Pomen services will be held at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests memorials to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church Building Fund or to KC Hospice.

Mrs. Bellmyer died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Huntsville, Ark. She was born in KCK and was a lifelong resident. She was a retired bookkeeper.

Her husband, Jack L. Bellmyer, died in 1999.

Surviving are one son, Michael L. Bellmyer, Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Cindi A. Penny, Olathe, and Vicki J. White, Huntsville, Ark.; one sister, Helen Feden, KCK; and four grandchildren.

Joseph Duda

Services for Joseph Duda, 88, Kansas City, Kan., were held Wednesday at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, KCK. The Simmons Funeral Home, 1404 S. 37th St., KCK, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Duda died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at the Parkway Care Home. He was born Jan. 13, 1913, in Novytarg, Poland. He retired from Cudahy Packing Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II aboard the U.S.S. Indiana. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Clyde W. Dyerson

Services along with Masonic services for Clyde Wilfred Dyerson, 95, Lee's Summit, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, Kan., will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Joseph A. Butler and Son Funeral Home, 19th and Minnesota Ave., KCK.

Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Dyerson died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at John Knox Village Care Center, Lee's Summit. He was born in KCK, and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a timekeeper for the Kansas City Stockyards and Kansas City Steel. He was a member of the Metropolitan Avenue United Methodist Church, a 70-year Mason of Wyandotte Lodge No. 3 and a 60-year-member and Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Gladiola Chapter.

Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Martha T. Dyerson, of the home; one son, Clyde W. Dyerson Jr., Kenner, La.; one daughter, Linda McLaughlin, Independence, Mo.; one sister, Lena Worthington, Nisswa, Minn.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Anita G. Lillard

Services for Anita G. Lillard, 58, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., KCK.

Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Cancer Action Inc.

Mrs. Lillard died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Bethany Medical Center. She was born Dec. 3, 1942, in KCK, and was a lifelong resident. She had been the manager at U.S. Check Cashing for nine years. She was a member of Chelsea Church and had been a volunteer for Cancer Action at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Juanita Hoffman and Sharon Vallejo, both of KCK; one son, Ken Hoffman, Olathe, Kan.; her parents, Donald and Juanita Thompson; one sister, Jackie Jo Tatum-Keyser, all of KCK; and five grandchildren.

Maggie Lovett

Services for Maggie Lovett, 91, Mulberry, Ark., were held today at the First Assembly of God Church, Mulberry.

Burial was in the New Cemetery, Mulberry. The Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, Van Buren, Ark. was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lovett died Monday, June 18, 2001, in Ozark, Ark. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Mulberry.

Her husband, James Roy Lovett, preceded her in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary Aline Davenport, Kansas City, Kan.; one son, Albert Lovett, Mulberry; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Juanita J. McCool

Services for Juanita J. McCool, 77, Rantoul, Kan., formerly of Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Ruhamah Baptist Church, Rantoul.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Maple Hill Cemetery, KCK. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Dengel and Son Mortuary, Rantoul. The family suggests memorials to Alzheimer's Association or Ruhamah Baptist Church, c/o Dengel and Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kan. 66067.

Mrs. McCool died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at the home. She was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Conger, Tenn. She was a 1935 graduate of the Saginaw, Mich. High School. She was employed as an assembly line worker in various Continental bakeries, retiring in 1986. She had lived in KCK before moving to Rantoul in 1994. She was a member of the Ruhamah Baptist Church; the Disabled American Veterans; and the Bakery and Confectionery Union.

Her husband of 26 years, Albert D. McCool, died in 1973; her father, Ralaigh F. Allen; her mother, Bessie J. Allen; four brothers, Richard Allen, Burke Allen, Oliver Allen and James Allen; and one sister, Rita Allen, all preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Miner, Rantoul, and Peggy Clark, Wellsville, Kan.; two sons, Albert McCool, Pittsburg, Kan., and Donald McCool, KCK; two sisters, Faye Bergy and Marie Wasalaski, both of Saginaw, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Marion E. Watson

Services for Marion Elizabeth Watson, 64, Kansas City, Kan., were held today at the Watkins Brothers Memorial Chapel, Kansas City, Mo.

Burial was in the Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Watson died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Providence Medical Center, KCK. She was born Jan. 27, 1937, in K. C., Mo. She was a member of Gilbert Memorial A.M.E. Church. She was a currency teller at Commerce Bank of K. C., Mo.

Her parents, Sam H. Randolph and Isabell Holman Randolph, and three siblings, Nalmus Randolph, Betty Woodard and John Randolph, all preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Eddie L. Watson, of the home; three sons, Larry J. Randolph, Derk E. Randolph and Todd Watts; one daughter, Rene Randolph Blacksheare; one sister, Sammie J. Randolph; two brothers, Thomas Randolph and Charles Randolph, all of K. C., Mo.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Wilma L. Croskey

Services for Wilma L. Croskey, 84, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., KCK.

Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Croskey died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at the Providence Place. She was born Jan. 5, 1917, in Weston, Mo. She and her husband had lived in Iowa and Illinois and in 1975 returned to KCK. She was a Presbyterian.

Her husband, Victor J. Croskey, died in 1982.

Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Smith Vaughan, Arcada, Colo.; three sisters, Mildred Curtis, Hollister, Calif., Doris Love, Mission, Kan., and Edna Jones, Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Loren McGowen, Kansas City, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
