Holman, Florence E., age 103, died November 21, 2002. A graveside service was held November 26, at City View Cemetery, under the direction of the Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service of Salem, OR. Mrs. Holman was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett E., in 1973. She is survived by 3 daughters, 1 sister, 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 36 great-great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Miner, Helen E., age 91, formerly of Independence, died November 28, 2002. Graveside funeral services will be held December 4, at the Mount Hope Cemetery, under the direction of the Potts Chapel of Independence. Mrs. Miner was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Earl Bromhal, in 1954. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Howard E. Miner, in 1985. She is survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Schwatken, Jessie, age 88, formerly of Elk City, died December 1, 2002. Funeral services will be held December 4, at the Elk City United Methodist Church, with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, under the direction of the Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home of Independence. Mrs. Schwatken was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, in 1995. She is survived by 2 daughters, 1 son, 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Trollope, Ruby A., age 86 died November 29, 2002. Funeral services were held December 2, at the Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence. Mrs. Trollope was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, in 1991. She is survived by 2 sons, 5 grandchildren,

Jackson, Christine Margaret, age 94, formerly of Longton, died November 27, 2002. Funeral services were held December 2, at the Longton Baptist Church in Longton, with burial in the Longton Cemetery, under the direction of the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service of Coffeyville. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Joy Wiley, in 1970. She is survived by a foster son, several nieces and nephews.

Farner, Phyllis, age 68, died November 25, 2002. Funeral services were held November 27, at the Graves Memorial Chapel in Caney, with burial in the Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Ks., under the direction of Graves Funeral Home of Caney. Mrs. Farner is survived by her husband, Leonard, 1 son, 1 daughter, 2 brothers, 3 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Crumrine, Dorothy, age 85, died November 24, 2002. Funeral services were held November 29, at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Galesburg, under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Mrs. Crumrine was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Gregg, in 1945, who was killed in an automobile accident. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Crumrine, in 1963. She is survived by 2 sons, 6 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, 5 great-grandsons and 1 niece.

Lassen, Buster B. “Bus”, age 74, died November 23, 2002. Funeral services were held November 26, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, with burial in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. Mr. Lassen was preceded in death by his wife, Abby, in 1993. He is survived by 1 son, 5 daughters, 14 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 1 brother and 1 sister.

Nutt, Gabriel R. “Gabe”, age 21, died November 25, 2002, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral services were held November 27, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, with burial in the McCune Cemetery, under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. Gabe is survived by his father and step-mother, Steve and April Nutt, and his mother, Terri Nutt, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, paternal grandparents and his maternal grandmother.

Oakes, Charles L. age 74, of Tucson AZ, a former resident of Walnut, Ks., died November 14, 2002. The body has been cremated. A family committal service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the East Hill Cemetery, under the direction of the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Erie, Ks. Mr. Oakes was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Jeanette, in 1995. He is survived by 1 daughter, 1 grandson, 1 granddaughter, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Brooks, Constance S. “Connie”, age 89, died March 24, 2003. Mass of Christian Burial was held March 27, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with interment at the Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Survivors include her husband Francis, 1 sister, 1 brother, 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Dominiak, Lois Belle, age 96, died March 28, 2003. She was employed by the American Red Cross. Graveside services were March 31 in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service. There are no immediate survivors.

Miller, Charles W., age 91, died March 25, 2003. He was a former employee of the Universal Atlas Cement Plant. Graveside services were held March 28 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, Ks, under the direction of Potts Chapel, Independence. Survivors include 2 sons, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.

Pyle, Mamie Lee (Haynes), age 87, died March 27, 2003. She was a fine art painter. Graveside services were March 31 in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service. She is survived by 3 sons, 8 grandchildren.

Stoner, Oren Paul, age 92, died March 24, 2003. He had been athletic director at Field Kindley High School. He has been cremated. A memorial service was held March 28 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel with private burial. He is survived by 2 daughters.

White, Patricia Lee, age 66, died March 23, 2003. She was a homemaker. Graveside services were March 26 at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville, under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service. She is survived by her husband Charles, 1 son, 1 daughter, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

Churchill, Earl Victor, age 87, died March 29, 2003. He had worked at the General Portland Cement Plant. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., April 2, at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. Survivors include 1 son, 2 daughters, 1 sister, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.

Hayden, Raymond Taylor, age 94, died March 24, 2003. He had worked at the Excelsior Brick Plant. Graveside services were March 28, at the Fredonia City Cemetery, under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife Alice Marie, 1 stepson, 1 brother, 1 half-brother, 1 half-sister, 7 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.

Burton, Ivan W., age 86, died March 30, 2003. He was retired from Funk Manufacturing. Services will be April 2, 2003 at the Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Cleo, 2 daughters, 5 granddaughters, 3 great-granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons.

Parks, Donald E., age 75, died March 28, 2003. Graveside services with full military rites will be held April 1, at the Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Ks, under the direction of Potts Chapel. He had been employed with Stekoll Oil Co. and Layton Oil. Survivors include his wife, Marie Joyce, 5 daughters, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 14 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Reynolds-Mulberry, Patti Ann, age 40, died March 26, 2003. She had been employed at MFG Construction Services Company. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held March 29 at Grace-Memorial United Methodist Church, under the direction of Potts Chapel. Survivors include her husband Shawn, her parents, 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 brother 2 sisters, 1 grandson.

Tanner, George W., age 94, died March 25, 2003. He had been employed at Prestige Wood Products Company of Neodesha, Ks, retiring in 1973. Graveside funeral services were held March 27 at the Lutheran Cemetery, Independence under the direction of Potts Chapel. He is survived by his wife Alma Lois.

King, Duane W. “Dane”, age 67, died March 23, 2003. He had worked at the Parsonian Hotel until his retirement. Memorial services were held March 26, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. A private family committal service will be held at a later date. He is survived by his wife Patricia, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 half-sisters.

Vitt, Marilyn G., age 69, died March 20, 2003. She had worked for the O’Brien Rock Company. Funeral Mass was held March 24, at the St. Francis Catholic Church with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Survivors include her husband Ed, 3 sons, 4 daughters, 22 grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters.

Brophy, Dorothy, age 91, former Coffeyville educator, died June 7, 2003. Funeral Mass was celebrated June 11 at Holy Name Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Frankfort, Ks. She is survived by a great-niece, Sara Brophy, of Arizona.

Lowrance, Margaret Caroline, age 81, died June 11, 2003. She had worked at Continental Can and was a homemaker. Funeral Mass was June 14 at the Holy Name Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Graves Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She is survived by 3 sons, 1 daughter, 1 sister, 3 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law, 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Humphrey, James, age 67, died June 7, 2003 at his home. He was retired from the United States Postal Service in Coffeyville. Funeral services were June 12 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel in Coffeyville, Ks with burial in Lake Creek Union Cemetery, west of Bartlett, Ks. He is survived by 4 daughters, 1 brother, 1 half-brother, 1 sister, 4 half-sisters, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.

Scott, G. Gerald, age 82, died June 10, 2003. He was a farmer and stockman. Funeral services were held June 14 at the First United Methodist Church with burial in the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Alice, 3 daughters, 2 sons, 1 brother, 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
