Henslee, Odelia, age 76, died July 26, 2003. Funeral services were held July 29 at the Potts Chapel with interment at the Crestlawn Cemetery in Riverside, California. Survivors include 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 brother, 6 sisters, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Patterson, Elvan E. “Gene”, age 60, of Carthage, Mo died August 2, 2003. He had worked in a machine shop. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. August 6, at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale under the direction of Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. He is survived by his father and step-mother Alvan and Carol Patterson of Coffeyville, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 adopted sisters.

Bryner, Wilma Nadine, age 94, died July 27, 2003. She was a retired elementary school teacher. A memorial service was held July 31 at First United Methodist Church in the Clossen Memorial Chapel. She has been cremated and her ashes will be privately interred at a later date. She is survived by 1 sister. Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.

Cole, Sylvia Jo Ellen, age 65, died July 28, 2003. She worked as a Med Aide at the Medical Lodge in Coffeyville. Funeral services were held July 31 at the Graves Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. She is survived by 2 sons, 3 daughters, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, several nieces and nephews.

Couch, Evelyn Fern, age 96, died July 29, 2003. She was a homemaker. Graveside services were held August 2 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Ks, under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service, Inc. She is survived by 4 sons, 1 sister, 3 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.

Martin, Ruth, age 90, died July 27, 2003. She was retired from Bynum’s Mens Wear as a sales clerk. Graveside services were held July 30 in Lake Creek Union Cemetery at Bartlett, Ks, under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service, Inc. She is survived by 1 daughter, 1 sister, 2 grandsons, 4 great-grandchildren.

Snider, Donald Lyle, age 82, died July 28, 2003. He was involved in stock investing. A memorial service was held August 5 at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel. He is survived by his wife June, several nieces and nephews.

Dickerson, Lois I., age 85, died July 27, 2003. She had worked with the Boyd Oliver/Van Dyne-Lane Insurance Company. Funeral services were held July 31 at the Locust Grove Church, Locust Grove Township, Iowa, with interment at the Locust Grove Cemetery, Fremont County, Iowa. Potts Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Dickerson is survived by 6 sons, 3 daughters, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.

Vannoster, Brenda K., age 45, of Grove, Ok, formerly of Independence, died July 27, 2003. She had worked for the United Cities Gas Company before moving to Grove. Funeral services were held August 1 at the Cathedral of Praise with interment at the Jefferson Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel. Survivors include her husband Danny, 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 grandchild, her parents Jackie and Ilene Vance, 1 brother.

Bash, Rita (Daley), age 79, died July 27, 2003. A Memorial Funeral mass was held August 1 at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with burial of cremains in Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. She is survived by 2 brothers, numerous nieces and nephews.

Hickman, Nora M., age 63, formerly of Coffeyville, Ks, died July 28, 2003. Graveside services were held July 31 at Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville, under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel. She is survived by her husband Kenneth, 3 daughters, 3 stepsons, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

Holmes, Gene, age 74, died August 2, 2003. He was an automotive teacher. Funeral services were held August 5 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with burial in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Marceline, 1 son, 1 daughter, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 brother.

Howard, Dale Owen, age 56, died July 27, 2003. He had been a school bus driver and a transport driver. Funeral services were held July 31 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo, 3 sons, 4 daughters, 13 grandchildren, his parents Dale D. and Geraldine Howard, 4 brothers, several nieces and nephews.

Myers, Clarence E., age 62, died July 30, 2003. He was a mechanic and a carpenter. Funeral services were held July 31 at the East Bethany Cemetery under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. He is survived by two brothers, 4 sisters.

Reynolds, Marguerite J., age 84, died July 24, 2003. She was formerly employed at Belmont IGA Store. Funeral services were held July 30 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. She is survived by 3 sons, 2 daughters, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters.

Savely, Donald Wayne, age 68, died July 31, 2003. He was a carpenter. Graveside services were held August 5 at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home of Fredonia. He is survived by 1 son, 3 daughters, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.

Dewey, Cleda V., age 88, died September 18, 2003. Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service was held September 26 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, under the direction of Potts Chapel, Independence. She is survived by her husband T. D., 2 sons, 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

McQuarie, F. Neil, age 87, died September 22, 2003 in Parsons. He had worked for the railroad. Services were held September 24 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with burial in the Oswego Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Irene, 1 son, 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren.

Dewlen, Frances Louise, age 84, died September 19, 2003. She had worked as a social worker. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service. She is survived by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 7 grandchildren.

Duncan, Harold Krugg, age 98, formerly of Coffeyville, died September 20, 2003 in Houston, Tx. He had been Secretary-Treasurer of Orval W. Carter Automotive Supply. Services were held September 25 at the First Christian Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery. He is survived by 1 daughter, 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 5 great-grandchildren.

Hilton, Bill D., age 73, died September 21, 2003. He was retired from Pressure Cast. Services were held September 24 at the South Coffeyville United Methodist Church with burial in Robbins Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Doris, 1 daughter, 3 sons, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, 1 step-sister.

Barton, Rosa Nell, age 78, died September 20, 2003. She and her husband opened Barton Saw Mill in 1954. Services were held September 24 at the First United Methodist Church with interment at the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel. She is survived by her husband Leonard, 1 son, 1 daughter, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 son-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law, 4 grandchildren.

Shoemaker, Mildred A., age 83, died September 20, 2003. She had worked in various establishments in Independence. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel. A memorial service was held on October 28 at the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by 4 daughters, 2 foster sisters, 1 sister-in-law, 5 grandchildren.

Welch, B. Maxine, age 69, died September 23, 2003. She was a homemaker. Services were held September 26 at Potts Chapel with interment at the Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Ks. Survivors include her husband Kyle, 5 daughters, 1 sister, 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.

Jewett, Roxie H., age 98, formerly of Cherryvale, died November 12, 2003 in Reno, Nv. She was a homemaker. Services were held November 18 at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale with interment at the Fairview Cemetery. Survivors include 1 daughter, 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson, cousins, nieces and “adopted” mom of Ms. Captola James and family along with Mr. and Mrs. A. H . Allen.

Aude, Oteka Rhea, age 59, died November 13, 2003. She was a retired small business owner. Services were held November 17 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel with burial in Robbins Cemetery, west of Coffeyville. She is survived by her husband John, 1 son, 1 daughter, her mother Lois Hershey, 3 brothers, 1 sister.

Dixon, Etta Genevieve “Genny” Dixon, age 76, died November 15, 2003. Services were held November 18 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel with burial in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Midland, Texas at a later date under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Survivors include 3 sons, 3 daughters, 6 sisters, 1 brother, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

Griffith, Dorothy Vivian, age 91, died November 10, 2003. She had owned and operated Dorothy’s Beauty Shop. She has been cremated. A memorial service was held November 15 at the Central Church of the Nazarene. Inurnment will take place in Neodesha at a later date. Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service is handling arrangements. She is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.

Isaacs, Jack Roger, age 81, died November 11, 2003 at Oklahoma City, Ok. He was a pharmacist. Services were held November 17 at the First Presbyterian Church, Coffeyville, Ks, under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service, followed by a graveside service in Burlingame Cemetery under the direction of Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame, Ks. He is survived by 1 son, 1 step-son, 1 daughter, 1 step-daughter, 1 brother, 1 sister, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandsons and 1 step-granddaughter.

Miller, L. Ruth, age 97, died November 14, 2003. She was bookkeeper for Magic Circle Manufacturing Company, later Acme Foundry. Services will be held at 2 p.m. November 20, at the First united Methodist Church with interment in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service. She is survived by 1 daughter 3 grandchildren, 1 brother, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
