Smethwick, Evelyn F., age 74, died March 20, 2005. She was employed with the Woodworth Home Health Care in Parsons. Services were held March 24 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Tulsa, Ok. She is survived by 2 sons, 2 daughters, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 brother.

Billups, Doris Mae, age 85, died Oct. 26, 2005. She had worked in several restaurants, including 20 years with Rita’s Cafe. Services were held Oct. 31 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with burial at the Jefferson Cemetery, under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. She is survived by 1 brother, numerous nieces and nephews.

Liddell, Otis A. , age 59, formerly of Coffeyville, died Oct. 28, 2005 in Parsons, Ks. Through the services of Connections Rescare he worked in area workshops, helped deliver newspapers and was active in community events. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with burial in the Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. He is survived by 1 brother, 1 sister-in-law, 1 nephew, 1 niece, 1 cousin.

Patton, Ronald A., age 66, rancher and cattle broker, died Oct. 26, 2005. Services were held Oct. 29 at Tyro Christian Church, Tyro, Ks with burial at Robbins Cemetery under the direction of Edgewood Chapel. He is survived by his wife Linda, 3 children, 4 grandchildren.

Skidmore, Alberta Ellen, age 92, Licensed Practical Nurse, died Oct. 28, 2005. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with burial in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. She is survived by 1 son, 11 grandchildren, several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Carr, George Owen, age 86, died Oct. 28, 2005. He was retired from Burke Printing Company and Kansas Bank Note Company. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. He is survived by 1 sister, 19 nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews.

Morris, Darliene Laverne, age 90, teacher and librarian, died Oct. 25, 2005. She was also a final inspector at Beech Aircraft during World War II. Services were held Oct. 29 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Jackson Cemetery near New Albany. She is survived by 1 daughter.

Garcia, Nada Loraine, age 44, died Oct. 22, 2005. She worked at Funks Manufacturing. Services were held Oct. 28 at the Potts Chapel with burial in The Mount Hope Cemetery. She is survived by 2 daughters, 2 sons, 3 grandchildren.

Garman, LaDonna F., age 74, died Oct. 26, 2005. She was retired from Automotive Controls Corporation. Graveside services were held Nov. 1 at the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Ks under the direction of Potts Chapel. She is survived by her husband Floyd and several nieces and nephews.

Myers, Kerris Glen, age 67, of Parsons, self-employed painter and handyman, died Oct. 27, 2005. Services were held Oct. 31 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with burial in Springhill Cemetery. He is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 step-son, 10 grandchildren, 2 sisters, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.

Clapp, Donna Marie (Wallen), age 70, of Sedan, KS, homemaker, died Oct. 26, 2005. Services were held Oct. 29 at the Whippoorwill Baptist Church in Whippoorwill, Ok with cremation following, under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Sedan. She is survived by her husband Jim Clapp, 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, 2 sisters.

Powell, Jannis M., age 58, died Nov. 29, 2005 in Iowa while visiting her daughter. Services to celebrate her life were held Dec. 3 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Chapel with interment at Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. She is survived by 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren, father Cecial Hestand, 2 sisters, 1 sister-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.

Hamlin, Margaret “Helen” Sue, age 77, died Nov. 29, 2005. She was retired from ACC. Services were held Dec. 2 at the First Southern Baptist Church with burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel. She is survived by her mother Marva Shafter, 1 son, 3 daughters, 3 sisters, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

Brown, Mabel Ann, age 90, formerly of New Albany, died Nov. 27, 2005 at Douglass, Ks. Graveside services were held Nov. 30 at the Weakley Cemetery near New Albany under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home of Fredonia, Ks. She is survived by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 sister, 1 brother, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Baugher, Dorthea M., age 75, of Parsons, died Nov. 26, 2005. She was retired from Baugher Equipment. Following cremation a memorial service was held Nov. 29 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband Gayle, 2 daughters, 1 son, 1 granddaughter, 4 grandsons, 2 sisters, many nieces and nephews.

Ziegler, Martha E., age 85, of Parsons, died Nov. 28, 2005. Services were held Dec. 1 at the Oakwood Cemetery with burial in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. She is survived by 3 daughters, 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren.

Walker, William K., M.D., age 87, of Sedan, died Nov. 27, 2005. Services were held Dec. 1, 2005 at the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Sedan with cremation following and inurnment at a later date in the Epiphany Episcopal Church Columbarium. He is survived by his wife Alleein, 2 daughters, 1 daughter-in-law, 2 sisters, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Whiteside, Lester G., age 79, resident of Wichita and formerly of Neodesha and Fredonia, died Nov. 30, 2005. He was a retired San Francisco Railroad switchman. Graveside services were held Dec. 5 at the Neodesha City Cemetery under the direction of the Timmons Funeral Home of Fredonia. He is survived by his wife Rebecca, 2 daughters, 1 son, 1 brother, 1 sister, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Raymond, Mary, age 64, Altamont, died Dec. 14, 2005. She was employed in the housekeeping department of the Labette County Medical Center. Services and burial were held Dec. 17 at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. She is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 4 grandchildren, 3 brothers, 1 sister.

Carpenter, Myrtle C., age 78, Cherryvale, died Dec. 2, 2005. She was a retired dietary manager of the Cherryvale Nursing Home. Services were held Dec. 5 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons, Ks with burial at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery of rural Dennis, Ks. She is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 sister.

Smith, John Raymond, age 88, Coffeyville, former owner and operator of the Esquire Club and former Mayor of Elgin, Ks, died Dec. 12, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 16 at the Holy Name Catholic Church with graveside services at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Ks, under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Chapel. He is survived by 1 son James A. “Tony” Smith, 1 sister, 4 nephews, 2 nieces.

Million, Ila Rhea, age 97, of Fredonia, homemaker, died Dec. 12, 2005. Graveside services were held Dec. 15 at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. She is survived by 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 12, great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 6 step-great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-great-grandchildren.

Kline, Raymond O., age 89, Mound Valley, died Dec. 14, 2005. He was involved in many local businesses and organizations. Services were held Dec. 17 at the Mound Valley United Methodist Church with burial in the Mound Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont, Ks. He is survived by his wife Donna, 1 son, 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren, 1 brother.

Abshier, Earl E. “Jiggs”, age 82, Parsons, auctioneer and cattleman, died Dec. 12, 2005. Services were held Dec. 15 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont, Ks with burial at the Lake Creek Cemetery of Bartlett, Ks. He is survived by his wife Doris, 1 son, 1 daughter, 3 granddaughters, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters.

Dunkin, Doris E., age 87, Sedan, retired Registered Nurse, died Dec. 14, 2005. Services were held Dec. 17 at the First Christian Church in Sedan with burial at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home. She is survived by 2 daughters, 2 sons, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Floyd, Anna D., age 98, Sedan, nurse, died Dec. 17, 2005. Graveside services were held Dec. 20 at the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home. She is survived by 1 son Roger Floyd, 2 sisters, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Barnes, Carl Wayne, age 66, Tyro, oil field worker, died Dec. 14, 2005. Services were held Dec. 17 at the Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel in Caney, Ks with interment at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery east of Caney. He is survived by his wife Sandy, mother-in-law Lorene Bush, 3 children, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 1 brother.

Miller, Isabelah Shauri Lauranna, 2 day old infant daughter of Lana E. Miller, Caney, died Dec. 26, 2005. Services were held Jan. 4 in the First Christian Church of Caney under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel. She is survived by her mother, adoptive parents to-be-in Maine, maternal grandmother, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 uncles.

Powell, Dolores H. (Dowell) Long, age 88, Caney, died Jan. 3, 2006. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Havana Cemetery, Havana, Ks, under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home of Coffeyville, Ks. She is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 step-son, 4 grandchldren, 2 step-grandsons, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 half sister, 2 step-brothers, several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Driskel, Don “Littie”, age 78, Cherryvale, self employed carpenter, died Jan. 5, 2006. Services were held Jan. 10 at the Cherryvale Christian Church with burial in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. He is survived by his wife Delores, 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 sister, 3 grandchildren.
