Alexander, Thomas (Tom) Walker, age 87, Coffeyville, died Jan. 3, 2006. He worked in the health care field and later he and his wife were in the management field of Sycamore Landing Apartments. A celebration of his life and memorial service was held Jan. 7 in the First Baptist Church. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

Folk, Janet, age 54, homemaker, Coffeyville, died Dec. 29, 2005. Services were held Jan. 4, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will take place at a later time. She is survived by her husband Robert, 1 son, 1 daughter, 4 grandchildren, mother Shirley Dewey, 2 brothers.

Heale, Billie J., age 74, Coffeyville, died Dec. 24, 2005. He had worked at Jensen Brothers and Thompson Brothers. Graveside services were held Dec. 29, in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Mary, 1 son, 2 daughters, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Mathis, James Randy, age 55, resource teacher, Coffeyville, died Jan. 2, 2006. Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 6 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home. He is survived by 2 sons, mother Joyce Mathis, 1 sister, 7 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great-nephews, 1 great-niece.

Tovey, Lena, age 94, homemaker, Coffeyville, died Jan. 4, 2006. Graveside services were held Jan. 7 at the Penwell-Gabel’s Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. She is survived by 1 daughter Pam Jones, 1 grandson, 1 brother, numerous nieces and nephews.

Wright, Larry E., age 62, Coffeyville, died Dec. 29, 2005. He had worked as a guard at Farmland Refinery. Graveside services were held Jan. 2, 2006 in the Robbins Cemetery under the direction of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Coffeyville. He is survived by his wife Patti, 3 sons, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.

Hickox, Billy, age 72, Fredonia, resident of Garland, Tx, formerly of the New Albany and Fredonia area, died Dec. 31, 2005. He was a retired automobile mechanic. Graveside services were held Jan. 4, 2006 at the Weakley Cemetery near New Albany under the direction of the Timmons Funeral Home. He is survived by 2 daughters, 1 son, 2 brothers, 2 grandchildren.

Rogers, Steven W., age 74, Fredonia, lawyer, died Jan. 7, 2006. Services were held Jan. 10 at the First Christian Church with burial in the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Nancy, 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 brother-in-law, 5 grandchildren.

Harlin, Charles A., age 91, Independence, farmer, died Dec. 30, 2005. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel. He is survived by 1 sister Marian I. Harlin, several nieces and nephews.

Lee, Aurelia Ann, age 96, Independence, formerly of Coffeyville, Ks, died Jan. 7, 2006. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11 at the St. Andrews Catholic Church with burial in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Walnut, Ks, under the direction of Potts Chapel. She is survived by 2 sons, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Brown, Magdalene M., age 88, Parsons, homemaker, died Dec. 29, 2005. Services were held Jan. 3, 2006 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. She is survived by 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, 1 sister.

Demps, Flowrene “Buddy”, age 97, Parsons, retired Katy Railroad employee and City of Parsons employee, died Dec. 30, 2005. Services were held Jan. 7, 2006 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. He is survived by 1 son, 2 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 1 brother, 1 sister.

Dick, Lawrence P., age 85, Parsons, died Jan. 6, 2006. He was retired from Parsons Precision Products. Funeral mass was held Jan. 10 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Mildred, 5 sons, 4 daughters, 27 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, 6 brothers, 3 sisters.

Sanborn, Otis Russell, age 96, Sedan, retired Missouri Pacific Railroad worker, died Jan. 6, 2006. Graveside services were held Jan. 10 in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home. He is survived by 2 daughters, 1 step-son, 1 step-daughter, 3 sisters, 6 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.

Reasoner, Richard Carl, age 88 of Lawrence, Ks, retired electrician formerly of Columbus, Parsons and Cherryvale, Ks, died Feb. 1, 2006. Services were held Feb. 4 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale with burial in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Galena, Ks. He is survived by his wife Waldene, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Fisher, Paul E., age 59, Coffeyville, died Jan. 31, 2006. He worked in steel detailing and design work and project managing. Funeral services were held Feb. 6 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with graveside services Feb. 7 at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Branson, Mo. He is survived by his wife Julianne, mother, 3 sons, 3 daughters, 1 brother, 1 sister, 9 grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 4 at the Penwell-Gabel Webb Rodrick Chapel with burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Elk City, Ks. She is survived by 1 son John H., Scammey, 1 sister, 2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.

Wheeler, Caytlon Ennette, 13-month old daughter of Clayton and Nickie (Long) Wheeler, Neodesha, died Feb. 3, 2006 in Kansas City, Mo. Services were held Feb. 7 at the First Christian Church with interment in Shelly Cemetery (formerly known as Bethel Cemetery) under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. She is survived by her parents, 1 sister, maternal and paternal grandparents, maternal and paternal great-grandparents.

Ducote, Rhett Elmer, age 44, Sedan, carrier for the Tulsa World, died Jan. 29, 2006. Services were held Feb. 1 in The Hollow at Sedan, Ks with arrangements by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory in Bartlesville, Ok.

Williams, Helen J., age 91, homemaker and Dexter, Ks resident, died Feb. 5, 2006. She was retired from Sedan Floral. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 at the First Baptist Church in Sedan, Ks with interment in Oak Hill Cemetery, Elk City, Ks, under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel of Caney, Ks. She is survived by 3 sons, 1 daughter, 29 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Coy, Merrill W. “Bill”, age 72, Caney, retired Air Control Operator for the US Navy, died June 3, 2006 in Barstow, Ca. Services were held June 12 at Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel in Caney with burial in Fawn Creek Cemetery northeast of Tyro, Ks. He is survived by his wife Alice, 1 son, 1 step-son, 1 step-grandson, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 uncle, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thomison, Shirley Fay, age 75, Caney, died June 6, 2006. She was a published author and homemaker. Funeral services were held June 9 at Caney Church of Christ with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery. She is survived by 1 son, 2 daughters, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Bowman, Billy Doyle, age 72, Coffeyville, retired Pharmacist, died June 3, 2006. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Medical Corp and a tribal member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, 2 daughters, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 3 granddaughters. Graveside services were held June 7 in Fairview Cemetery.

Bracken, Merle Lemoin, age 75, Coffeyville, farmer, died June 10, 2006. Graveside services were held June 13 at Spring Hill Cemetery, north of Coffeyville. He is survived by 4 brothers, 2 sisters.

Frost, II, Richard Lisle “Dickie”, age 39, Coffeyville, was found deceased June 6, 2006 at his residence. In lieu of a service, the family received friends at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Cremation followed. He is survived by his mother Mary Lou Frost, father Richard L. Frost, paternal grandmother, 1 brother, 1 sister, 1 niece, 1 nephew, and a special friend, Julie Reiter of Canyon City, Co.

Wilson, James W., age 80, Coffeyville, Pathologist, died May 28, 2006. He served in the US Army Air Corp. He studied at the Oklahoma School of Medicine and was a Board Certified Pathologist. A memorial service is planned later in June under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home. Ashes will be interred at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Alexandria, Va. He is survived by his wife Mary, 5 sons, 1 brother, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons.
