Coffey, Beatrice Naomi, age 78, died Aug. 18, 2006. Services were held Aug. 23 at Wauneta United Methodist Church in Wauneta, Ks under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home of Sedan. She is survived by 1 son, 2 granddaughters, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 1 sister-in-law.

Wade, Gail Lynette, age 39, died Nov. 3, 2006. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held Nov. 7 at Parcells Family Funeral Home. She is survived by her mother Betty Wade, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 1 half-brother, 2 half-sisters.

Jones, Amy R., age 34, died Oct. 29, 2006. Services were held Nov. 1 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel in Bartlesville, Ok.

O’Meara, Mary Elizabeth (Ferwalt), age 70, former Coffeyville resident, died Nov. 3, 2006 in Kansas City, Mo. She was a homemaker and had also worked for several establishments. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, at Holy Name Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery under the direcitn of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service. She is survived by 1 brother, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pierce, Hurlburt Matthew “Matt”, age 92, died in Scottsdale, Az on June 7, 2005. He retired in 1979 as Chief of Safety Operations for the Kuwait National Petroleum Co. His remains were interred at the family plot at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville at a private graveside service on Nov. 4, under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Alice, 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, 1 son-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Roberts, John Burton, age 68, died Oct. 31, 2006 in Cushing, Ok. He retired from KWTV in 2001. Graveside services were held Nov. 4 at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. He is survived by 1 son, 2 daughters, 2 sisters, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Payne, Theresa Alaine, age 88, homemaker and rancher, died Oct. 29, 2006 at Fairview, Mo. Services were held Nov. 2 at Wheaton First Baptist Church with burial at Muncie Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Lakin Funeral Homes of Pierce City, Mo. She is survived by her husband Percy, 1 son Daniel Payne of Elk City, 4 daughters, 1 brother.

Wells, Chuck Dean, age 66, retired mechanic, formerly of California, died Nov. 1, 2006. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife Rachel and his mother Ruth V. Darling.

Crigger, Minerva W., age 95, homemaker, died Nov. 2, 2006 in Harrisonville, Mo. Graveside services were held Nov. 6 at Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrison, Mo. She is survived by 2 sons, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, other relatives.

Floyd, Mary Jo, age 85, died Oct. 21, 2006. She was the wife of the late Glen Floyd, M.D. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service was held Nov. 3 at the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. She is survived by 1 son, 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter.

Jones, Clyde R., age 95, died Oct. 30, 2006. He was in the oil business. Services were held Nov. 2 in the First Christian Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. He is survived by 1 daughter, 1 brother, 2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.

Steffen, Jeanette R., age 68, died Dec. 11, 2006 in an automobile accident. Jeanette’s husband Gerald also died in the accident. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel of Cherryvale and services will be held at a later date. She is survived by 5 sons, 1 daughter, 3 brothers, 3 sisters.

Kinsch, Edward Robert, age 88, machinist retired from Parmac, died Dec. 13, 2006 in Marion, Il. He formerly lived in Coffeyville and drove the van for the SE Kansas Meals on Wheels for 10 years. Services were held Dec. 18 at the Central Church of the Nazarene with internment at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Garden of Devotion under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. He is survived by 4 daughters, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lee, Essie Pearle, age 90, died Dec. 9, 2006. She was employed in the banking and finance industry. Graveside services were held Dec. 19 in the Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. She is survived by 1 step-son.

Fiscus, Richard Eugene “Gene”, age 76, retired Army Sergeant Major, died Dec. 15, 2006. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Timmons Funeral Home with burial in Fredonia City Cemetery. He is survived by 3 sons, 1 brother, 3 sisters, 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.

Miller, William Henry, age 88, formerly of New Albany, Ks and Alberta, Canada, died Dec. 12, 2006. He was a retired automobile mechanic and farmer. Cremation has taken place and a private inurnment will be held at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. He is survived by 2 sisters.

Parker, Francis L., age 82, died Dec. 15, 2006. He was retired from the Kansas Department of Transportation where he worked as an engineering technician. Graveside services were held Dec. 18 at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. He is survived by 1 son, 1 daughter, 1 sister, 1 sister-in-law, 5 grandchildren.

Musgrove, Evelyn M., age 68, died Dec. 13, 2006. She taught Psychology and Sociology and was Director of Adult Basic Education at Independence Community College, retiring after 30 years in education. Services were held Dec. 19 at the First Baptist Church in Cherryvale, Ks with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel of Independence. She is survived by her husband Carl, 3 sons, 1 daughter, 3 brothers, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.

Peterson, Lloyd F., age 95, farmer, stockman and businessman, died Dec. 11, 2006. Services were held Dec. 16 at the Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. He is survived by 2 sons, 3 daughters, 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren.

Polk, Pearline B., age 90, caregiver, died Nov. 30, 2006. Cremation has taken place. Graveside memorial services were held Dec. 14 at Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel. There are no immediate survivors.

Reddy, Francis James, age 91, died Dec. 10, 2006. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Andrews Catholic Church on Dec. 13 with interment in Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Potts Chapel of Independence. He is survived by 1 son, 1 brother, 1 sister, 2 grandchildren.

Toner, Orveta Raye Littleton, age 82, homemaker, died April 10, 2007. Celebration of Life Services were held April 16 at the First Christian Church with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of Parcells Family Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband Bill, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 sister, 1 brother, 1 sister-in-law, 6 grandchildren.

Drake, Jr., Paul “Bud” J., age 72, farmer/rancher, died April 6, 2007. Graveside services were held April 12 at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. He is survived by 2 sons, 3 grandsons.

Slaton, Donald K., age 76, died April 9, 2007. He was retired from the Missouri-Pacific railroad and later farmed and raised cattle. Graveside services were held April 12 in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. He is survived by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 4 sisters, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.

Tucker, Tina L., age 50, died April 7, 2007. Services were held April 14 at the Independence Friends Church under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel. She is survived by her grandmother Eva Tucker-Heinze, parents Beverly and Eugene Hight, 3 sisters, 4 nephews, 1 niece, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Withers, Janice, age 73, died April 15, 2007. Services are pending with Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home.

Wood, II, Donald Dean “Chip”, age 41, died April 13, 2007 as a result of an auto accident. He and his wife were owners of The Wood Pit. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, Ks with interment in the Fredonia City Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Dawn, 1 son, 2 daughters, parents Don and Judy Wood, 1 sister, 1 nephew.

Larkin, Orlis Marie, age 70, died April 14, 2007. She had worked at Kansas Bank note. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home. She is survived by 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 sister, 2 step-brothers, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Lorentz, Mary A., age 86, died April 12, 2007. She had worked for Lorentz Oil Co., CalMary Real Estate and Bartlett’s Jewelry. Services were held April 17 at the First United Methodist Church under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home. She is survived by 3 sons, 1 sister, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

Adams, Irene R., age 93, homemaker, died April 8, 2007. Services were held April 13 at Potts Chapel with graveside committal at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Clark, Terri Jo (Berry), age 47, died April 7, 2007. She currently worked at Midwest Aviation at Jabbara Airport in Wichita, Ks. Services were held April 12 at First Baptist Church in Cherryvale, Ks with graveside committal following at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale under the direction of Potts Chapel of Independence. She is survived by 2 daughters, 1 son, 3 grandchildren, her mother and stepfather Jim and Shirley Selby, 2 brothers, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, grandparents, aunts and uncles, 3 former spouses and special friend Steve Long.
