RANDALL W. FORESTER
HUGOTON -- Randall "Randy" Wayne Forester, 40, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at his residence in Hugoton.
He was born March 25, 1959, to Roy Lee and Joyce Ernestine (Smith) Forester Sr., in Pampa, Texas.
He married Geri Lynne Stoops March 25, 1998, in Ulysses. She survives.
He lived all his life in Ulysses, except for the last five months when he lived in rural Hugoton.
He loved music and people and easily befriended people. He will be missed dearly by a host of friends.
He was a truck driver for Cattle Empire LLC Feedyard in Satanta and Sublette.
He attended the First Christian Church in Hugoton.
Other survivors include his mother, Joyce E. Forester, South Bend, Ind.; one brother, Roy Forester and wife, Donna, Sublette; three sisters , Dana Robbins, South Bend, Ind., Jacque Morris, Wichita, and Michelle Vassar, Perry, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Forester, Sr.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Assembly of God Church in Ulysses. Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery
in Ulysses. Grant County Funeral Home in Ulysses is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home.
RUTH CORMAN ALLEN
LIBERAL -- Ruth Corman Allen, 65, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
She was born May 5, 1934, to Hugh Lee and Anna (Peterson) Corman Sr., in Clifton.
She married Kenneth D. Allen Dec. 23, 1956, in Clifton. He survives.
She had been a resident of Liberal since 1962. She was a homemaker and had worked at First Federal Savings.
She was an avid quilter and gardener.
Other survivors include two brothers, Hugh Lee Corman Jr. and wife, Mildred, Lake Dallas, Texas, and Edwin Corman and wife, Donice, Clifton; one sister, Neva Brown, Fairbury, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Myron Corman; and one sister, Virginia Corman Johnson.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at 100F Cemetery
in Clifton.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch Funeral Home.

JACQUELINE AMERIN
COPELAND -- Jacqueline Charlene "Jacque" Amerin, 54, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Satanta Hospital in Satanta.
She was born Aug. 8, 1945, to Glenn E. and Rosamond Wilma (Boyd) Jones.
She married Edward Amerin Nov. 26, 1981, in Plains. He survives.
She was a resident of Copeland for the past nine years, moving there from Plains. She was a homemaker.
Other survivors include three daughters, Denise Hacker, Plains, Sherry Fox, Copeland, and Jessica Fabry, Wichita; two sisters, Patty Coats and Marlene Forbes, both of Plains; and eight grandchildren.
A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Plains. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Zeno Ye Swe presiding.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, and from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday, at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.
Burial will follow at the Plains Cemetery
in Plains.
The family suggests memorials to the Satanta Hospital.
EVERETT JOHNS
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Everett Johns, 85, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at Nameste Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was born June 27, 1914, to Archibald and Grace (Foracker) Johns in Woodsfield, Ohio.
He lived in Liberal from 1955 to 1984, when he moved to Colorado Springs.
He was owner and operator of Johns Construction Company until his retirement in 1983.
He served on the Liberal City Commission and the Seward County Commission.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Liberal, the Liberal Chamber of Commerce, Liberal County Club and High Plains Petroleum Club of Liberal. He was a 32nd degree Mason, McAlester, Okla., and member of the Shrine in Oklahoma City.
He married Lucille Campbell Aug. 8, 1936, in Woodward, Okla. She died Feb. 25,1982. In May 1999, his wife Emma died.
Survivors include two sons, Dean Johns, Iraan, Texas, and Wayne Johns, Liberal; two daughters, Caroline Best, Shawnee, and Ann Callahan, Wellington, Fla.; two brothers, Warren Johns, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Clarence Johns, Pampa, Texas; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Liberal, with the Rev. Stephen B. Saville presiding.
Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery, Liberal.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch Funeral Home, Liberal.
Memorials are suggested to the Shriners, in care of the funeral home.
CLAUDE FRENCH
ELKHART -- Claude Raymond French, 89, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.
He was born Oct. 1, 1910, to Samuel Daniel and Bertha (Nordyke) French near Baxter Springs.
He married Nellie Coulter in 1930. She died in 1948. He married Hilldred Smith March 10, 1952. She survives.
He had been a resident of Elkhart since 1998, moving there from Hugoton. He was a field technician for the oil industry.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Masonic lodge of Hugoton.
Other survivors include one son, Larry French, Ann Arbor, Mich.; one daughter, Rita Anne Ubelhart, Willits, Calif.; and one step-daughter, Theda Turner, Keyes, Okla.; and eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ in Elkhart, with the Rev. Lee Skelton presiding.
Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at the Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton.
The family suggests memorials to the Church of Christ in Elkhart.
EUNICE CALDWELL
HUTCHINSON -- Eunice Caldwell, 69, a former Liberal resident died Feb. 2, 2000, at Hospice Residential Care Center in Hutchinson.
She was born Feb. 24, 1930, to Charles Ernest and Bertha Love (Thomas) Kemper in Liberal.
She married Loren Evan Caldwell May 20, 1950, in Clayton. He died June 10, 1984.
She graduated from Liberal High School in 1949 and from Hutchinson Community College in 1983. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a retired clerk for J.C. Penney Co. Inc. as well as an administrative assistant for Prairie Independent Living, both of Hutchinson.
She was a member of Westbrook Baptist Church in Hutchinson, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Positive Singles, and Lay Witness Renewals with Macedonia Ministries.
Survivors include two sons, Rodney Caldwell, Knoxville, Tenn., and Barry Caldwell, Heston; two daughters, Laurel Janssen, Hutchinson, and Beverly Robinson, Scottsdale, Ariz; two brothers, Everett Kemper, Pratt, and Eddie Kemper, Dallas; three sisters, Edna Phillips, Liberal, Evalina Joy, Houston, and Eula Lock, Terrill, Texas; and 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Earl Kemper.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Westbrook Baptist Church in Hutchinson, with the Revs. Jeff Cokely and Bob Shelton presiding. A celebration reception followed the service in the church fellowship hall.
A private family burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery
in Hutchinson.

IVA IRENE BAKER
LAKIN -- Iva Irene Baker, 84, a former Lakin and Holcomb resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton. She had been a resident of Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton for the past two years.
She was born Aug. 19, 1915, to Thomas N. and Carrie (Igo) Frisby in Beaver County, Okla.
She married Carl Albert Baker Aug. 31, 1936. He preceded her in death.
She grew up in Sublette and graduated from Sublette High School in 1933. She spent most of her adult life in the Holcomb and Lakin communities. She was a 4-H leader for several years in Holcomb and helped organize the First Presbyterian Church of Hugoton.
She was a school teacher, appraiser, manager of the Credit Union and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, all of Lakin, and a former Democratic chairperson of Kearny County.
Survivors include one son, Gary Baker and wife, Debbie, Hugoton; three daughters, Judy Satterfield and husband, Bill, Emporia, Janice Sim and husband, James, Leawood, and Jane Allen, Ardmore, Okla.; one brother, Thomas Frisby, Fort Collins, Colo.; one sister, Esther Purdy, Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Loah Frisby, Edwardsville, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Fred and Herman Frisby; three sisters, Lennie Fisk, Opal Johnson and Alice Jacobs; and one granddaughter, Debbi Bernal.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakin, with the Rev. Juanita Wiseman presiding.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Haskell County Cemetery
in Sublette.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Grant County Funeral Home in Ulysses. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
