WICHITA -- Ray E. (Bud) Kennedy, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, in Wichita.

He was born Dec. 9, 1919, in Liberal.

He was a self-employed photographer.

Survivors include two sons, Ray E. Kennedy, Jr., Cederridge, Colo., and Richard L. Kennedy, Clifton, Colo.; two stepsons, Bruce J. Beringer, Denver, and Scott T. Beringer, Denver; one daughter, Cherie Lou Kennedy, Overland Park; one stepdaughter, Sharon K. Beringer, Hollywood, Calif.; and one sister, Frances Boswell, Denver; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Liberal Municipal Cemetery, Liberal.

The family suggests memorials to The Wichita Downtown Lions Club, 219 South Broadway, Wichita, KS, 67202.

LAURENA A. PREEO

BELOIT -- Laurena A. Preeo, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital in Hutchinson.

She was born Oct. 19, 1913 in Alma.

She lived nearly all her life in Beloit.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and Mitchell County Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Howard Preeo, Turpin, Okla., and Noral Preeo, Emporia; one daughter, Veann Liby, Hutchinson; one sister, Minnie Specht, Beloit; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Preeo; her father, Leonard Nye; and her mother, Amelia Gladow Nye.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beloit, with the Rev. Mike Clark presiding.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Beloit.

The family suggests memorials to Zion Lutheran Church or Mitchell County Hospital Auxiliary.

McDonald Funeral Home, 910 N. Campbell, Beloit, KS 67420, is in charge of arrangements.

ANNE L. GRAVES

BUHLER -- Anne L. Graves, 86, Buhler, a former Liberal resident, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at the Hospice Residential Care Center in Hutchinson.

She was born Aug. 22, 1913, to Daniel Warren and Mae (Gibson) Von Schriltz in Ashland.

She had been a Hutchinson area resident since 1984, when she moved from Liberal.

She was a 1931 graduate of Dodge City High School in Dodge City.

She owned the Merle Norman Studio in Liberal from 1969 to 1981.

She belonged to 10th Avenue United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, and was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star, Liberal.

She married Richard Denny Graves Nov. 28, 1931, in Dodge City. He died Feb. 7, 1981.

Survivors include one son, Richard Terry Graves, Dodge City; two daughters, Jeri Barton, Houston, Texas, and Connie Shea, Hutchinson; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Von Schriltz, Howard Von Schriltz and Don Von Schriltz; and a grandson, Max Barton.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Hutchinson.

Memorials are suggested to Anne Graves Memorial Fund, in care of Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Hutchinson.

ROWENA PEARL DAVIS

AMARILLO, Texas -- Rowena Pearl Davis, 74, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, in Amarillo

She was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Tyrone, Okla.

She married W.L. Davis Nov. 1952.

She was a long-time resident of Amarillo, moving from Baker, Okla., where she graduated from high school

She was the co-owner of A&L Saw Service in Amarillo.

She was a member of the Southwest Baptist Church, previously Fairview Baptist Church.

Survivors also include one daughter, Patricia Altman Smith, Amarillo; four sons, Phil Altman, Midland, Texas, Reginald L. Davis, Mexico City, Mexico; Steve Davis and David Davis, both of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at Southeast Baptist Church, Amarillo, with the Rev. Robert Field presiding.

Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Amarillo.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East, Amarillo, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.

DOTTIE AUSTIN

LIBERAL -- Dottie Austin, 54, died, Mon. Feb. 14, 2000, at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, following an extended illness.

She was born May 5, 1945 to Clem O. and Lucille M. (James) Wyer in Liberal.

She graduated from Liberal High School in 1965 and was a homemaker and mother.

She worked at Epworth Hospital and later the Southwest Medical Center for 17 years. She also worked for the Liberal Inn for 17 years.

She married John H. Austin June 21, 1967, in Liberal.

She married Gary D. Curtis Feb. 18, 1986 in Liberal. He survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Carol A. Weatherspoon and husband, Stevie, Deborah L. Willard and husband, Lance, Meade; one brother, Dale Wyer, Orlando, Fla; one sister, Minnie Rhines and husband, Gene, Owensboro, Ky; one half-brother, Bob L. Cravens, Topeka; two grandchildren, Tobey L. and Amanda Easley, Liberal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one daughter.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Liberal Cemetery, with the Rev. Ken Willard presiding.

Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday.

ROSELLE CALL

GIRARD -- Roselle Call, 90, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Heritage Nursing Home in Girard.

She was born Sept. 27, 1909, to James and Mary (Shay) Fox in Walnut.

She married Emory Howard, "Shorty" Call Feb. 3, 1936, in Pittsburg. He died Sept. 5, 1970.

She graduated from Pittsburg High School and from Pittsburg Business College.

She worked in the Crawford County clerks' office for 10 years and at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons for three years.

She was a member of the former St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Greenbush, and the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Girard, the Ladies Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include four sons, Jack Call, Liberal, Jim Call, Arma, Donald Call, McCune, and Tom Call, Girard; four daughters, Joan Westhoff, Walnut, Kay Meyer, Girard, Rosemary Alexander, Prior Lake, Minn., and Jean Blaes, Pittsburg; one brother, Walter Fox, Pittsburg; one sister, Margaret Snyder, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, William Call; two brothers, Lawrence Fox and Francis Fox; and one sister, Gertrude Fitzgerald.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Girard, with the Rev. Donald R. Thissen presiding.

Burial will follow at the St. Aloysius Cemetery in Greenbush.

Friends may call today at Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.

The Ladies Altar rosary will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, followed by the Daughters of Isabella rosary. Parish rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive friends following the parish rosary.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Michael's Church in Girard, or the St. Aloysius Cemetery Association in Greenbush, in care of St. Michael's Church or Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W. St. John, Box 258, Girard, KS 66743.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
