HELGA M. GODINEZ
MEADE -- Helga M. Godinez, 94, a lifetime Meade resident, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at the Kansas Soldiers Home in Fort Dodge.
She was born July 20, 1905, to Louis and Anna M. (Cordes) Feldman in Meade County.
She married Clarence Heinson Jan. 20, 1925, in Dalhart, Texas. He died Nov. 17, 1957.
She married Andrew Bohling June 16, 1960, in Guymon, Okla. He died Jan. 10, 1975.
She married Maximelliano Godinez March 29, 1981. He survives.
She was a retired owner and operator of the Green Thumb Nursery in Meade.
She was a former member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Meade where she was the organist for many years. She had currently attended the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meade.
Other survivors include one daughter-in-law, Betty Heinson, Meade; two step-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Heinson, Dec. 3, 1985; and two sisters, Mathilda Feldman and Lula Borchers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary Chapel in Meade, with Dr. M. Bert Daniels presiding.
Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade.
ROBERT C. DICKSON
LAKIN -- Robert C. Dickson, 67, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at the Kearny County Hospital in Lakin.
He was born May 2, 1933, to Clarence E. and Marien L. (Stiegerwalt) Dickson in Glidden, Iowa.
He married Darlene Oliver Nov. 29, 1959, in Ulysses. She survives.
He had been a resident of Lakin since 1957. He owned Dickson Custom Harvesting and Trucking until his retirement in 1998.
He was a member of the Lakin Masonic Lodge, the Eastern Star, the Sportsman Club and the Lakin Men's Bowling League.
He served in the United States Army.
Other survivors include two daughters, Kim Ansel and husband, Ivan, Kersey, Colo., and Judy Dickson, Garden City; one son, Kevin Dickson and wife, Diane, Holcomb; two sisters, Ferne Horton, Lakin, and his twin sister, Ruth E. Brown, Sand Springs, Okla.; one brother, Ronald E. Dickson, Clearwater, Fla; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Roberta Mae Dickson; one sister, Betty L. Oller; his parents; and one grandson, Chastin Seth Jessee.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Lakin Wesleyan Church in Lakin, with the Rev. Jeff Lee presiding.
Burial, with military honors and Masonic rites will follow at the Lakin Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin until 9 p.m. today.

WAUNETA I. MORIN
ULYSSES -- Wauneta I. (Oliver Hagerman) Morin, 88, former Ulysses resident, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, at the Woodland Terrace Retirement Center in Bridgman, Mich.
She was born Oct. 28, 1911, to Othelho and Minnie Oliver in Duenweg, Mo.
She married George J. Hagerman in April 1927.
She married Nelson A. Morin in 1951. He died in September 1998.
She moved with her parents to Gread Bend from Missouri when she was 6-years-old. She moved to Ulysses in 1924. She had been a resident of Berrien Springs, Mich., for the past 22 years.
She completed high school and then went on to graduate in 1945, as a legal secretary, from a business college in Sacramento, Calif.
She graduated as a practical nurse in 1963, from Porter Hospital School of Nursing in Denver. She worked as a licensed practical nurse, primarily in private homes, until several years after her retirement when she moved to Michigan.
Survivors include one son, James Duane Hagerman and wife, Mackie, Vancouver, Wash.; one daughter, Zerita Joan Hagerman, Berrien Springs; two daughters-in-law, Marge and Minnie Hagerman, borh of Ulysses; Jacqueline Kineman, who she considered as a daughter, Berrien Springs; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Frederick Junior Hagerman and Rollin Paul Hagerman; three sisters, Margueritte, Mescal and Irene; three half-sisters, Mamya, Sadie and Wynema; one half-brother, Rollin; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Grant County Funeral Home in Ulysses. Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Grant County Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Grant County Museum in care of Grant County Funeral Home, 218 S. Main Street, Ulysses, KS 67880.
ELDOURSE E. BETTS
Eldourse E. Betts, 70, Liberal, died Friday, July 7, 2000, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Oct. 1, 1929, in Liberal.
He moved to Liberal in 1986, from St. Louis, Mo.
He was involved in construction work for many years.
Survivors include his step-father, Karold Thomas, Liberal; special friend, Edna L. Hernandez-God, Liberal; one half-brother, Tom Ramey, San Diego, Calif.; one son and one daughter.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
ARTHUR J. OLSON
Arthur J. Olson, 79, Liberal, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 10, 1921, to Oscar M. Olson and Violet (Jackson) Olson in Liberal.
He married Hazel M. Adams, Jan. 5, 1948. She died in 1998.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in the Aleutians Islands.
He worked in carpentry for many years and later went on to work for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co., from which he retired in 1986.
He was a member of the South Church of God. He had served as a Scout Master and unit commissioner for many years with the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Olson and Jerry Olson, both of Liberal, and Jim Olson, Turpin, Okla.; two daughters, Linda Saucedo, Moscow, and Zona Zockrell, Lexington, Ky.; one brother, Oscar Olson Jr., Liberal; five sisters, Kathryn Wyche, Guymon, Okla., Elsie Whetstone, Vallas, Colo., Rachel Harvil, San Jacinto, Calif., Marlene Jepson, Leavenworth, and Ethyl Nance, Nixon, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, three daughters, and one grandson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the South Church of God in Liberal.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller Mortuary.
Burial, with military honors, will be at the Liberal Cemetery
performed by an honor guard from Fort Riley.
The family suggests memorials to Boy Scout Troop no. 181, the Faith Tabernacle Youth Group or to Camp Alexander, in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln, Liberal, KS 67905.
JOB LOPEZ
Job Lopez, infant son of Lucia Lopez, was stillborn Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He is survived by his mother of Liberal; and his grandparents, Juvier and Macisa Lopez, Liberal.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Miller Chapel, with Deacon Erasmo Rodriguez presiding. Burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.
GERALD L. HELSEL
Gerald L. Helsel, 75, Liberal, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal following a short illness.
He was born June 2, 1925, to Earl Q. and Mary L. (Griffith) Helsel in Liberal.
He married Virginia M. Booth May 17, 1952, in Clayton, N.M. She survives.
He grew up in Liberal and graduated from the Liberal High School in 1943.
He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Navy.
He worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline and was a surveyor for several years. He was a switchman foreman for the Rock Island Railroad, which later became the Cottonbelt Railroad. He retired in 1987 after 37 years of service.
He was a member of the American Legion, the United Transportation Union and a charter member of the Faith Tabernacle Church in Liberal.
Other survivors include one son, Ronnie Helsel, and wife, Melinda, Wichita; one daughter, Rhonda McAdams and husband, Steve, Liberal; one brother, Kenneth Helsel and wife, Mary Jo, Shattuck, Okla.; three sisters, Dessia Tarrent and husband, Terry, Hooker, Okla., Lota Cobb and husband, Orville, Liberal, and Margaret Biondi, Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Myka and Carrie Beamen; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda; five step-grandchildren, Michael, Mindy, Brandon, Brandi and Amy; and four step-great-grandchildren, Zane, Erika, Krista and Brittany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Miller Chapel with the Rev. Rex Petty presiding.
Burial with military honors will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
Friends may call at Miller Mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
