MACARIO ARREDONDO
Macario Arredondo, 67, of Liberal, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born March 10, 1934, to Benjamin and Reynalda (Barron) Arredondo in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico.
He married Rosalia Berroteran Sept. 1, 1954, in Camargo. She survives.
Other survivors include nine sons, Jose Arredondo, Jesus M. Arredondo, Javier Arredondo, Abelardo Arredondo and Macario Arredondo, all of Liberal, and Armando Arredondo, Salvador Arredondo and Gerardo Arredondo, all of Kansas City; four daughters, Estela Arredondo de Munoz and Socorro Arredondo de Holguin, both of Camargo, and Reina Rivera and Guadalupe Lujan, both of Liberal; seven brothers, Raymundo Arredondo, Claudio Arredondo and Antonio Arredondo, all of Mexico, and Abel Arredondo and Isidro Arredondo, both of El Paso, Texas, Luz Arredondo, Willington, Texas, and Guadalupe Arredondo, Kansas City; 38 grandchildren, Mona, Jose Jr., Ofelia, Rosa, J.B., Monica, Oralia, Yolanda, Jose, Jesus, David, Jesus, Ivette, Diana, Lisa, Adrian, Roberto, Jesus, Gemma, Gerardo Jr., Macario, Tatiana, Abelardo, Ricardo, Abelardito, Ivan, Jose, Rosalia, Felipe, Valente, Nancy, Margarita, Gisell, Octavio, Osbaldo, Yanira, Zayra, and Haley; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Osloada; and three sisters, Emilia Arredondo, Eloisa Arredondo de Amoaran and Julia Arredondo.
Funeral services will be held in Camargo at a later date.
Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal is in charge of local arrangements.
NORMA JANE HESTON
HUGOTON -- Norma Jane Heston, 66, died early Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Francis Campus in Wichita.
She was born Aug. 28, 1934, to Otho Everett and Hulda Jane (Michael) Rasler in Liberal.
She spent most of her life in the Hugoton community.
She married William Junior Heston March 29, 1953, in Hugoton. He died Dec. 5, 1999.
She was a homemaker.
She attended the First Church of God in Hugoton.
Survivors include three daughters, Loretta Woodworth and husband, Billy, and Connie Murphy, all of Hugoton, and Alpha Heston, Salina; one brother, Clarence Rasler, Kelso, Wash.; three sisters, Goldie Kerns, Hooker, Okla., Donna Sutton and Dorothy Stables, both of Hugoton; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton, with the Rev. Robert Bailey presiding.
Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.
A memorial has been established for Norma Jane Heston, in care of Paul's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
JOHN W. NORRIS
PAMPA, Texas -- John W. Norris, 76, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, in Pampa.
He was born Dec. 31, 1924, in Partridge.
He married LaVon Stoddard May 22, 1950, in Liberal. She died Aug. 12, 1992.
He later married Linda Williams Feb. 14, 1993, in Pampa. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He moved from Liberal to Pampa in 1965.
He was employed by Northern Natural Gas for 17 years and was later self-employed in the oil and gas industry as a personnel contractor for several years.
He helped build Lone Star Friends Church in Hugoton.
He was past president of Lovet Memorial Library Board of Directors in Pampa and was past president of the Friends of the Library, who awarded him the "Patron of the Year" award for 2000.
He was a former board member of Girlstown USA in Borger, Texas, and was past director of Good Samaritan Christian Services in Pampa.
He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Pampa.
He was also a foster parent for several years.
Other survivors include one son, Robert Dale Norris, Kansas City; two daughters, Johnnie Aven, Carrollton, Texas, and Glenna Norris Williams, Richmond, Texas; one foster daughter, Becky Vega, Plainview, Texas; three brothers, Roy Ralston, Pratt, Vernon Ralston, Liberal, and Dean Norris, Hutchinson; five sisters, Wanda Fagan, Dumas, Texas, Crystal Chase, Memphis, Tenn., Norma Chase, Houston, Patricia Dillon, Loveland, Colo., and Elda Barker, Solana Beach, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Central Baptist Church in Pampa with the Rev. Rick Parnell and Dr. Edwin Cooley presiding.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery
in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in Pampa.

ROBERT C. JOHNSON
BORGER, Texas -- Charles C. "R.C." Johnson, 69, died Friday, March 30, 2001, in Borger.
He was born Feb. 17, 1932, to Arthur Eugene and Myrtle Frances (Hilton) Johnson nine miles north of Friona, Texas.
He married Patricia Ann Bronson Dec. 10, 1954. She survives.
He had been a resident of Borger for the past 14 years.
He graduated from Plainview High School in 1951. He began his employment with Southwestern Public Service in December of 1951.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in December of 1952, and served in the Artillery division. After serving for two years, he was honorably discharged.
Following his service in the Army, he returned to work for SPS as a general foreman until his retirement in 1997.
He was a member of the Guymon, Okla., Lions Club until he was transferred to Borger.
Other survivors include two sons, Randy Charles Johnson and wife, Nancy, Guymon, and Robert Eugene Johnson and wife, Vickie, Elk City, Okla.; one daughter, Donna Kay (Ketcherside) Esser and husband, J.B., Kismet; one sister, Leota Bolding, Granbury, Texas; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Johnson and Nicole Johnson, both of Guymon, Monica Cox and husband, Brian, Plains, and Jimmy Ketcherside, Kismet; and three great-grandchildren, Baleigh Watson and Jayden Johnson, both of Guymon, and Logan Cox, Plains.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Waddell.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Fountains of Brown Funeral Directors in Borger with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe presiding.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elmhurst Cemetery
in Guymon with the Rev. Lloyd Riddles presiding.
Honorary casket bearers are Emmett Rice, Bob Crump, Scott Hindman, Dennis Hood, Ricky Bolding, Bobby Bolding and Kelly Lee Wright.

EUGENE W. BRUNKER
FREDONIA -- Eugene W. Brunker, 83, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Okla.
He was born May 19, 1917, to William Adam and Grace May (Harris) Brunker in Wichita.
He attended school in Wichita until 1932 when his parents moved to Farmdale, north of Fredonia.
He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1936.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army 36th Division of the 636th Tank Destroyer Battalion from February of 1942 until October of 1945. His company served in seven campaigns, Naples Foggia, Anzio, Rome-Arno, Ardennes-Alsace, southern France, Rhineland and central Europe.
After returning from the Army, he and his brothers did custom harvesting. He also farmed near Coyville before retiring.
He had been a resident of Early Autumns Residential Home in Stillwater for the past year.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include one brother, M. Keith Brunker, Albany, Ore.; one sister, Alberta Chapman, Liberal; one sister-in-law, Mary Brunker, Fredonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wendell Brunker; one sister, Erma Lou Spillman; and one brother-in-law, Paul Spillman.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Farmington Cemetery
north of Fredonia with the Rev. Leslie Miller presiding.
Military rites will follow.

WILLIAM E. DAVIS
AMARILLO, Texas -- William Edgar Davis, 84, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in Amarillo.
He was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Medicine Lodge.
He married Mildred Ball in 1936. She survives.
He attended school and graduated in Plains in 1936.
He worked in Hutchinson and Wichita during World War II and moved to the Kismet Plains area in 1949.
He was employed by Panhandle Eastern Pipeline beginning in 1949. He retired in 1977.
He was employed as a supervisor by the Hugoton Field Group for eight years before returning to supervise the Liberal station.
Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Greenfield, Mo., and later to Nevada, Mo.
He was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Amarillo.
Other survivors include one son, Ed Davis and wife, Melva, Amarillo; two granddaughters, Paula Davis, Seattle, and Judith Ann Davis, Boston; and one sister, Maxine Baker, Seguin, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marie Davis.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at N.S. Griggs and Sons Pioneer Chapel in Amarillo with the Rev. Terry C. Lowe presiding.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Fairlawn Cemetery
in Hutchinson.
