CLYDE T. BOYD
MEADE -- Clyde T. Boyd, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000 at the Meade District Hospital, Meade.
He was born Jan. 30, 1914, to Richard Willis and Nettie Pearl (Isbell) Boyd in Hodgensville, Ky.
He moved to Meade as a young child and graduated from Meade High Shool in 1934. He was a farmer.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Meade and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
He married Margaret Helen Hantla in Meade. She died Feb. 19, 1997.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Berkley, and a sister, Dorinda.
Survivors include two sons, Larry, Meade and Terry, Garden City; two sisters, Ada L. Federer, Wesloco, Texas, and June Anderson, Liberal; and several grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary Chapel, Meade, with the Rev. Harry Fink presiding. There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
Memorials are suggested to the Beam Senior Center.
RUBY FAYE SCHIELD
PLAINS -- Ruby Faye Schield, 85, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000 at the Morton County Health System, Elkhart.
She was born August 20, 1914, to Resolve and Allie May (Dellinger) Hoskinson in Stevens County.
She was a resident of Plains for 70 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Saint Patrick Catholic Church of Plains.
She married Pete Joe Schield in Meade. He died Aug. 22, 1975.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Hardaway, Meade; two sons, Carl Schield, Greensburg, and Edward Schield, Fowler; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Eugene and Robert Schield, and a granddaughter.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Plains, with the Rev. Zeno YeSwe presiding. Friends may call 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary, Meade. Burial will be in the Plains Cemetary, Plains.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. These gifts may be left at the funeral home.
RICHARD "RICK" BAKER
TURPIN -- Richard "Rick" Baker, 49, died Jan. 14, 2000, at his residence in Turpin.
He was born March 16, 1950 to Arthur L. and Doris (Gaddard) Baker in Sidney, NE.
He was the parts manager for Chrysler Corner. He was a memebr of the Emmanual Southern Baptist Church of Liberal. He served in the U.S. Army for 18 years.
He married Mary Ann (Kost) Musgrave July 29, 1994 in Liberal. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Richard Baker Jr., and wife Melinda, Liberal, Douglas Grant Baker and wife Cheryl, Balko, Okla.; a step-son, Jay Musgrave, Liberal; two step-daughters, Tammy Jantzen, Liberal, and Stacy Gowan, Oklahoma city; two brothers, Jim Baker, McPherson and Ron Baker, Yardley, Pa; two sisters, Sandy Horseman, Porsha, Ark., and Doris Gaddard, Lubock, Texas; a half-sister, Jackie Nelson, Denver.; a step-mother, Jean Baker, Stillwell, Okla.; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant half-sister, Teresa Baker.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Liberal. The Rev. Wyatt Carpenter will be presiding. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at Kitch Funeral Home from 1 p.m until 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday.

TINA JOY LEONARD
HUGOTON -- Tina Joy Leonard, 59, died Jan. 14, 2000 at her home in rural Hugoton.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Pauls' Funeral Home in Hugoton.
ETHEL EVA HAWKINS
HUGOTON -- Ethel Eva Hawkins, 81, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.
She was born June 3, 1919, to John David and Margaret Rebecca (Allen) McCollough in Carroll County, Ark.
She married Ray Orval Hawkins Nov. 19, 1937, in Kansas City, Mo. He died May 8, 1993.
She and her husband moved from Siloam Springs, Ark., to Hugoton in 1949. She had been a resident of the Pioneer Manor Nursing Home for the past several years.
She was a homemaker. She worked as a cook for the Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton for more than 20 years.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Hugoton.
Survivors include one son, David Ray Hawkins and wife, Yvonne, Liberal; two daughters, Margaret May Duncan and husband, Robert, Lakin, and Beulah Faye Buhrmann and husband, Larry, Hugoton; two brothers, Cleo McCollough, and wife, Ilda, Siloam Springs, and Carthel McCollough and wife, Billie, Dodge City; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Homer, David, Cecil and Robert McCollough; and two sisters, Martha Rose and Winnie Hawkins.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church in Hugoton with the Rev. Robert Bailey presiding.
Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery
in Hugoton.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday, at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton.

W.D. COLEMAN JR.
W.D. "Dan" Coleman Jr., 65, died Friday, April 27, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
He was born Aug. 30, 1935, to Walter D. and Bernice J. (Carwile) Coleman, in Springfield, Mo.
He graduated from Springfield, High School and Drury College, both of Springfield.
He married Judy Wheat Jan. 11, 1956, in Springfield. She survives.
He served his country for eight years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He served as a member of the board of the Selective Service for 20 years.
He was an insurance claims adjuster and manager for Western Insurance Company in Fort Scott. He retired in 1985.
He moved to Liberal in 1962, from Columbia, Mo.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1947, and the Liberal Investment Club.
Other survivors include two sons, Dan Coleman III and his wife, Jackie, Corinth, Texas, and David Coleman, Ardmore, Okla.; one brother-in-law, Larry Wheat and wife, Ann, Belvedere, Calif.; one granddaughter, Vanessa Coleman, Corinth; one nephew, Mark Whitmore and wife, Sylvia, Corpus Christie, Texas; one niece, Kathy (Wheat) Graves and husband, Peter, Post Falls, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Louise Whitmore.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Miller Chapel with Wava Burt presiding.
Burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call at Miller Mortuary in Liberal until 8 p.m. today or from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The casket will be closed Wednesday.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice, in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln, Liberal, KS 67905.
GRACE WILSON
RUIDOSA, N.M. -- Grace Kmita (Kupczick) Wilson, former Liberal resident, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at her home in Ruidosa.
She was born July 9, 1921, to Theodore and Mary Kupczick in Tahlequah, Okla.
She was raised on a farm near Tahlequah.
She attended, and graduated from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma after graduating high school. She completed cryptographic school.
She began teaching elementary school prior to World War II. She taught school in Liberal and Perryton, Texas, for several years. She was a retired school teacher.
She enlisted in the United States Army after the outbreak of World War II and was sent to serve in Africa. While in the Army she served as the cryptographer.
She married Fred L. Wilson Jan. 30, 1947 in Independence, following their discharge from the Army. They met in Africa while decoding messages in General Dwight D. Eisenhower's headquarters. Her husband, Fred, survives.
She and her husband moved to Ruidoso in 1983 from Tahlequah.
She attended the First Baptist Church of Ruidoso Downs.
She was active in the women's auxiliary and the garden club. She was voted Ruidosa Citizen of the Year in 1999.
Other survivors include three sons, J.L. Wilson, Ruidoso, Stormy Brian Wilson, Tahlequah, and John Bruce Wilson, Billings, Mont.; four sisters, Georgia Wells, Springfield, Anna Mae Frick, Mary Jane O'Connell and Katherine Carlisle, all of Montgomery, Ala.; five grandchildren, Kory Wilson, Tulsa, Okla., Kristy Wilson, Tahlequah, Jason Wilson, Ruidosa, and Matthew and Tava Wilson, Billings.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Funeral services are pending and will be announced by Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal.
DOROTHY K. ANDERSON
Dorothy Kathryn Anderson, 80, died Monday, April 30, 2001, at her home in Liberal.
She was born Nov. 25, 1920, to Fritz Egnar and Sigrid (Johnson) Anderson in Denham, Minn.
She married Robert C. Anderson May 3, 1942, in Denham. He survives.
She was raised and attended school in Denham. She also attended Gustavus Adolphus College and Minneapolis School of Business.
She had been a resident of Liberal since 1962.
She and her husband owned Liberal Standard Supply.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the VFW Auxiliary and the Elk's Lodge, all of Liberal.
Other survivors include one son, Bruce Anderson and wife, Regina, Hooker, Okla.; two daughters, Barbara Anderson and husband, Carl, Aberdeen, S.D., and Sandra Carmichael and husband, Kent, Ulysses; one sister, Margaret Parsons, Delano, Minn.; six grandchildren, Sara Ousdigian and husband, Kevin, Amy Anderson and husband, John Brost, Robert Anderson, Angela Smith and husband, Carl, Tricia Gill and husband, Jeff, and Jennifer Anderson; three step-grandchildren, Shaun Noyes and wife, Lora, Jeff Noyes and Brooke Noyes; four great-grandchildren, Carl Brost, Sigrid Brost, Mark Ousdigian and Vianna Smith; and three step-great-grandchildren, Marcus Romero, Monica Romero and Makenzie Noyes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Milton Anderson and Clifford Anderson; one infant sister; and one grandchild, Krystal Marie Anderson.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Christian Church in Liberal with the Rev. Earl Martell presiding.
A private family burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal. The family will be present to greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
