HAZEL M. SKIDMORE

CIMARRON -- Hazel May Skidmore, 86, a former Cimarron resident, died Friday, March 8, 2002, in Sun City where she had lived for the past 13 years.

She was born Nov. 12, 1915, to Aaron Wesley and Neva (Zimmerman) Ott in Cimarron.

She married Harvey Skidmore in 1932 in Dodge City. He died in 1983.

She was a homemaker and owned and operated cafes for many years.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Cimarron.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Peoria, Ariz.

Her hobbies included working with crafts.

Survivors include two sons, Leroy Skidmore and wife, Rita, Dothan, Ala., and Gary Skidmore and wife, Donna, Montezuma; five daughters, Doris Ann Price, Hutchinson, Janet McLaughlin and husband, Gene, Dexter, Jane Swaffar, Cimarron, Jackie Boyd and husband, Richard, Montezuma, and Donna Unruh, Sun City; one step-daughter, Eunice Garlock, Whittier, Calif.; special friend, Louis Nicotera, Sun City; 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous other relatives.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Franklin Ott and Walter Ott; one infant son; one granddaughter, Paula Price; and one grandson, Jerry Lee Chadwell.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nazarene in Cimarron, with the Pastor Charky Marquis presiding.

Burial will follow at the Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Montezuma Funeral Home in Montezuma, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene Church in Cimarron.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie in Dodge City in care of the Montezuma Funeral Home, P.O. Box 421, Montezuma, KS 67867.

SHIRLEY A. DECAMP

HUGOTON -- Shirley Ann DeCamp, 52, a former Hugoton resident, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at her home in Hays.

She was born March 4, 1950, to Wayne W. and Shirley J. (Fulkerson) DeCamp in Liberal.

She graduated from Hugoton High School. She moved to Hays following her graduation where she attended Fort Hays State University. She graduated from Fort Hays in 1998.

Survivors include her parents of Hugoton; two sons, Philip Billinger, Jacksonville, Fla., and Matthew Billinger, Hays; one brother, Bill DeCamp and wife, Carolyn, Hugoton; three sisters, Eileen Gregg and Darlene Harper and husband, Tommy, all of Hugoton, and Linda Ceilley and husband, Bernie, Cedar Falls, Iowa; nine nephews and nieces and numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Ollie Fulkerson and Bill and Clarissa DeCamp; and one brother, John DeCamp.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hays Memorial Chapel in Hays.

Additional services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of God in Hugoton, with Pastor Bill Vincent presiding.

The casket will remain closed.

Burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.

Memorials are suggested to teh Shirley Ann DeCamp memorial fund in care of Paul's Funeral Home, Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.

Friends may sign the guest book from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Paul's Funeral Home in Hugoton, and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

CATHY MICHAEL

MOSCOW -- Cathy Michael, 58, Moscow, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.

She was born Dec. 21, 1943, to Robert and Opal (Smith) Black in Dalhart, Texas.

She married Danny Michael Aug. 28, 1966, in Hugoton. He survives.

She graduated from Boise City, Okla., High School and from the Liberal Hair Academy.

She was a beauty operator for several years.

She worked at Kid's Connection for nine years, and for TLC for three years.

She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years in Moscow.

She was a member of the Church of Christ on north Grant in Liberal.

She was also a member of Friendly Neighbors Club and was a volunteer on the Seward County Rural Fire Department for six years.

Her hobbies included doing arts and crafts, cooking and sewing.

Other survivors include one daughter, Laura Hall and husband, Mitchell, Hugoton; one brother, Charles Hawkins, Boise City, Okla.; two sisters, Marilyn Bayer, Gentry, Ark., and Oleta Sivage, Altus, Ark.; two grandchildren, Matthew Hall and Madison Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ, 2501 N. Grant, in Liberal with the Minister Ron Suiter presiding.

Burial will be at Golden Plains Cemetery in Moscow.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

The family suggests memorials to either Stevens County Community Health or St. Catherine's Nursing Program, both in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln, Liberal, KS 67901.

MILDRED NEU

HIGGINS, Texas -- Mildred Neu, 92, formerly of Higgins, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Leedey Nursing Center in Leedey, Okla.

She was born Jan. 15, 1910, to Blynn and Lillie "Jane" (Moore) Vosburgh in Arnett, Okla.

She married George Henry Neu Sept. 15, 1934, in Woodward, Okla. He died in 1972.

She grew up in various communities and graduated from Higgins High School in 1928.

She attended Northwest Oklahoma College, where she received a teaching certificate.

She taught at various places in northwest Oklahoma and in the Texas panhandle for over 29 years.

She and her husband lived in Ellis County before moving to Higgins in 1953. She continued teaching in Higgins until retirement in 1973.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Higgins, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She was also a member of the Busy Bee Quilting Club and the Litera Club.

Her hobbies included reading and Bible study, cooking and being outdoors.

Survivors include one son, Raymond Neu and wife, Jolene, Plains; two daughters, JoAnn Detrixhe and husband, Ben, Butler, Okla., and Rita McPherson and husband, Darrell, Clarendon, Texas; three sisters, Addie Neu, Shattuck, Lois Neiderjohn and husband, Henry, Lawton, Okla., and Ester Larson and husband, Frank, Belen, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Albert Vosburgh; and on great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Higgins with the Rev. Clifford Baze presiding.

Burial was at DeBolt Cemetery in Arnett.

Good Samaritan Funeral Service in Shattuck, Okla., was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to either the First Baptist Church in Higgins or the Leedey Nursing Center, both in care of Good Samaritan Funeral Service, P.O. Box 1247, Woodward, OK 73802.

ELENORA M. BURNOS

MEADE -- Elenora M. Burnos, 82, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Meade District Hospital in Meade.

She was born March 20, 1919, to Theodore W. and Annie C. (Ribbing) Beckman in Wright.

She married William Baruxis Nov. 16, 1944, in St. Louis. He died Jan. 5, 1945, while serving in the U.S. military.

She married Casmer "Kite" Stanley Burnos Sept. 2, 1947, in Plains. He died March 29, 1980.

She moved to Plains in 1930 and later moved to St. Louis in 1945. She moved back to Plains in 1947, and then to Meade in 1951.

She was a retired restaurant operator.

She was a member of the Saint John's Catholic Church in Meade and the Daughters of Isabelle in Fowler.

Survivors include one brother, Joe Beckman, St. Louis; one sister, Ann Callahan, St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene "Gene" Beckman, Edward Beckman, Theodore "Pete" Beckman and Willibrord Beckman; and one sister, Hilda Shelton.

Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church in Meade.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church with the Father Zeno Ye Swe presiding.

Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Meade.

Friends may call from until 5 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to St. John Catholic Church in care of Fidler-Orme Mortuary, P.O. Box 70, 212 S. Fowler St., Meade, KS 67864.

ELVER C. MILBURN

ROLLA -- Elver C. "Slim" Milburn, 95, died Monday, March 11, 2002, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

He was born Jan. 31, 1907, to Pete Irvin and Lillis Faye (Gillium) Milburn in Rolla.

He married Flora Estelene Ford Jan. 2, 1939, in Wilburton. She died Dec. 4, 2000.

He had been a lifelong resident of Rolla.

He was a farmer and stockman.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rolla. He was also a member of Morton County Historical Society and was a past member of the Morton County Hospital Board of Trustees.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Milburn and wife, Rosalie, and John Milburn and wife, Linda, all of Rolla; two sisters, Alma Myers and Grace Drew, both of Hugoton; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Rolla.

Burial will be at Richfield Cemetery in Richfield.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harrell Funeral Home in Elkhart.

Memorials are suggested to Morton County Historical Society in care of Harrell Funeral Home, 514 Kansas Avenue, Elkhart, KS 67950.
