CURTIS W. KOEHN
MONTEZUMA -- Curtis W. Koehn, 78, died Sunday, June 23, 2002, at his home in Montezuma.
He was born June 25, 1923, to William B. and Kathryn (Schmidt) Koehn in Montezuma.
He married Juanita Koehn Oct. 31, 1943, in Montezuma. She survives.
He and his wife lived in the Montezuma area until 1949, when they moved to Greensburg. They moved to Cimarron in 1966. They moved back to Montezuma in 1997.
He was raised in the Montezuma area.
He was a custom farmer.
He was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church in Cimarron.
Survivors also include four sons, Eldon Koehn and wife, Sharlene, and John Koehn and wife, Marlene, all of Cimarron, Dennis Koehn and wife, Janice, Lakin, and Bill Koehn and wife, Letha, Texline, Texas; six daughters, Wilma Unruh and husband, Gerald, Canton, Marlene Koehn and husband, Don, Montezuma, Vera Koehn and husband, Galen, and Mary Ensz and husband, David, all of Cimarron, Doris Sundberg and husband, Galen, Karlsruhe, N.D., and Ruby Boese and husband, Eric, Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada; one brother, Jake W. Koehn, Murray, K.Y.; three sisters, Ruth Koehn, Montezuma, Fern Ensz and husband, Ervin, Phoenix, Ariz., and Carrie Penner and husband, Abe, Cartwright, Manitoba, Canada; 39 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Koehn Jr. and Allen Koehn; two sisters, Evelyn Koehn and Lena Jantzen; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Cimarron Mennonite Church in Cimarron, with the Ministers Wilbur Koehn, Vernon Giesbrecht and Curt Ensz presiding.
Burial will be at the Cimarron Cemetery
in Cimarron.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Montezuma Funeral Home in Montezuma, and from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cimarron Mennonite Church in Cimarron.

VIVIAN F. EICHER
Vivian F. Eicher, 81, Liberal, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born Sept. 14, 1920, to William S. and Myrtle (Hervey) Owen in Denver.
She married Leonard G. Eicher Nov. 24, 1938, in Ft. Des Moines, Iowa. He died March 22, 1984.
She had lived in Hill City prior to moving to Liberal in 1951. She had worked at the 54 Cafe, the Eureka Laundry, and retired from the Norge Village.
She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Liberal.
Survivors include one son, Robert Eicher and wife, Brenda, Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Deanna Mongold and husband, Gerald, Tyrone, Okla., and Juanita Stebens, Augusta; three brothers, Charlie Owen, Carmel, Calif., Billy Owen, Hill City, and Don Owen, Bouge; four sisters Mabel Harris and Velma Anderson, both of Bouge, and Alice Rome and Edith Anderson, both of Hill City; 10 grandchildren, Richard Mongold, Rick Mongold, Mike Mongold, Tammy Lovec, Teresa Wilson, Terena Reed, Terry Bob Eicher, Roger Stebens, Christina Stebens, and Jamie Higgins; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, one sister; and twin son and daughter.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fellowship Baptist Church in Liberal with the Rev. Bill Prater presiding.
Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Liberal.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

HELEN L. MCNELLY
WATERLOO, Iowa Helen L. McNelly, 66, Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa.
She was born Sept. 4, 1935, to Lawrence D. and Nelle (Meyers) Pope in Plains.
She married Cecil W. McNelly May 6, 1967, in Waterloo. He died May 8, 2000.
She was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College and taught K-6 in East Waterloo Township schools.
She had worked in various offices, and for the past 10 years she worked for Bible Tracts, Inc.
Survivors include one son, Ricky F. McNelly, Waterloo; two daughters, Jolene A. Kirkland, Evansdale, Iowa, and Vicki Pierce, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three brothers, Lawrence R. Pope, League City, Texas, Dale E. Pope, Des Moines. Iowa, and Thomas J. Pope, Lewis, Iowa; three sisters, Ruth O'Brien, Newton, Jessie Watson and Doris N. Rice, both of Bloomington, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Melvin C. "Buddy" McNelly and Kevin C. "Casey" McNelly; one sister, Rose Johnson; and two grandsons, Chad Albert McNelly and Kass Smith.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel in Waterloo.
Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery
in Waterloo.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at Garden View Chapel in Waterloo.

CLAUDINE MCKINLEY
HOOKER, Okla. -- Claudine "Cooter" McKinley, 82, Longview, Texas, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, in Longview.
Funeral services are pending and will be announced by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.
BARBARA J. DYE
THORNTON, Colo. -- Barbara J. Dye, 69, formerly of Liberal, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at her home in Thornton.
She was born Nov. 11, 1932, to J.B. and Lela (Harvey) Moore in Pritchett, Colo.
She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Liberal and transferred to Denver in 1978.
She was promoted to plant line assignee and retired in 1993 after 27 years of service with the company.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Reddick and wife, Linda, Beaver, Okla., Larry Reddick and wife, Pam, Overland Park, and Tim Dye, Thornton; two daughters, Brenda Havens and husband, Jim, Monument, Colo., and Valerie Branson and husband, Rod, Thornton; one sister, Leota O'Bannon and husband, Ray, Boswell, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Olinger's Highland Mortuary in Thornton.
Burial will be at Highland Cemetery
in Thornton.
JOSEPH P. AMERIN
Joseph P. "Joe" Amerin, 78, Liberal, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, in Liberal.
Funeral services are pending and will be announced by Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
LORENA BALL
Lorena Gulick Lingo Ball, 95, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Wheatridge Care Center in Liberal.
She was born May 10, 1907, to William and Lena (Drake) Gulick in Eureka.
She married Emery Ball Nov. 25, 1926, in rural Kismet. He died April 1972.
She had been a long-time resident of the Kismet area before moving to Liberal two and a half years ago.
She was educated at Kismet schools and for one year in McPherson.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm.
She was a member of the Kismet United Methodist Church, Kimball Club of Plains, and the North Plains Social Club.
Survivors include two sons, Duane Ball and wife, Barbara, Kismet, and Darryl Lee Ball and wife, Shirley, Garden City; one daughter, Donna Marie Walker and husband, Robert, Kismet; eight grandchildren, Emery Dean Ball, Earl E. Ball, Sandra Montz, Gayle Baxter, Theron Walker, Todd Wayne Walker, Brenda Lee Johnson and Charie K. Denton; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Edward Lingo; one infant son; one grandchild, Marvin Rae Ball; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kismet United Methodist Church in Kismet with the Pastor Nathan Stanton presiding.
Burial will be at Kismet Cemetery
in Kismet.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal. The family will be present to greet friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

EDITH M. FINCHER
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. -- Edith M. Fincher, 86, formerly of Minatare, Neb., died Friday, June 28, 2002, at her home in Scottsbluff.
She was born Dec. 2, 1915, to Charles and Bulah (Hitchcock) Millsap in Sparta, Tenn.
She married Walter Reid Fincher April 6, 1946, in Liberal. He preceded her in death.
She attended elementary schools in Oklahoma and Kansas and attended high school in Liberal.
She worked in Liberal for several years before her marriage. She and her husband moved to a farm in the Minatare area, where they lived until retirement.
She was a member of the Hope Community Club, Minatare Garden Club, Quarter Century Club, First Baptist Church in Scottsbluff, and the Ladies Circle of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Walter F. Fincher, Minatare; two brothers, William Kenneth Millsap, Denver, Colo., and Charles Millsap Jr., Liberal; one sister, Yvonna Ellyson, Arvada, Colo.; three grandchildren, Tracy M. Butler and husband, William, Cody, Wyo., Shannon M. Fincher and wife, Jill, Rapid City, S.D., and Misty L. Tunn and husband, Jason, Casper, Wyo.; and one sister-in-law, Nell Grassmick, Scottsbluff.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Glen Millsap.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Scottsbluff with the Pastor Bret Rickard presiding.
Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery
in Minatare.
