MARGARET J. WILSON

ULYSSES -- Margaret Josephine Wilson, 85, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born Dec. 3, 1916, to Josiah and Catharine (Brannick) LaFontaine Brown in Pottawatomie County.

She married Verland Fecht May 2, 1937, in Woodbine. He died in 1966. She married Melvin Wilson Jan. 22, 1973, in Las Vegas. He survives.

She graduated from Wamego High School in Wamego, and Business School at St. Joseph, Mo.

She worked as bookkeeper for Dr. Charotino in St. Joseph. After moving to Ulysses in 1966, she became a medical secretary at Dr. Brewer's medical clinic, where she worked for 30 years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Wamego; Wamego Alumni Association, where she was president in 1962; and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 76 in Wamego, where she was Worthy Matron.

Her hobbies included reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Other survivors include one son-in-law, Ed Dwyer, Escalon, Calif.; three grandchildren, Amy Day, Orem, Utah, Rex Dyer, Menlo Park, Calif., and Max Dwyer, Fresno, Calif.; one great-grandson, Brian Day; one step-son, Lenord Wilson, Ulysses; one brother, John Brown, Manhattan; one sister, Roberta Brewer, Ulysses; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane Fecht; two brothers, Simon LaFontaine and Leo LaFontaine Sr.; and three half-sisters, Rose LaFontaine, Martha LaFontaine and Clara (LaFontaine) Bentley.

Funeral services, followed by Order of Eastern Star Rites by Ulysses Eastern Star 471, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses with the Rev. Bill Harrold presiding.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wamego Cemetery in Wamego with the Rev. Cam McConnell presiding.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.

HULDA FRIESEN

MEADE -- Hulda Friesen died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Minneola District Hospital in Minneola.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church in Meade.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

IMOGENE H. MEYERS

MEADE -- Imogene Hope Meyers, 82, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in Minneola.

She was born Jan. 25, 1921, to William and Grace (Danks) Schmoker in Beaver County, Okla.

She married Elmer Meyers on May 31, 1941, in Wichita. He died Dec. 14, 1972.

She graduated from Meade High School in 1938.

She was a homemaker and rancher.

She was a lifetime resident of Meade County.

Survivors include, three sons, Larry D. Meyers and wife, LaDonna, Meade, Wayne W. Meyers and wife, Elaine, Bedford, Texas, and Dale L. Meyers and wife, Lou, Dodge City; one sister, Fannie Judy, Beaver, Okla.; six grandchildren, Troy, Todd, Brian, Jeff, Jeff Meyers, and Deborah Meyers Miller; and six great-grandchildren, Hunter, Mackenzie, Logan, Kincaid Meyers, Brennan and Brayden Miller.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Meade with the Rev. Lynn Spencer presiding.

Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Meade.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

ASHLYNN L. VYORAL

KENDALL -- Ashlynn L'Chole Vyoral, 16-months-old, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita.

She was born Nov. 1, 2001, to Stacy Vyoral in Kingwood, Texas.

Survivors include her mother; grandparents Charlie Vyoral, Dayton, Texas, Shelley Brown, Kendall; great-grandmother, Margaret Vyoral, Dayton, Texas; one uncle, C.J. Vyoral, Hardin, Texas; numerous other relatives.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Satanta with the Pastor Ray Tweed presiding.

Burial will be at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Haskell County Funeral Home in Sublette.

Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Haskell County Funeral Home, Box 607, Sublette, KS 67877.

DELPHINE L. TURNER

ELKHART -- Delphine "Annie" L. Turner, 79, died Sunday March 2, 2003, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

She was born Oct. 11, 1923, to Charles and Elizabeth (Hatzenbuehler) Sloan in Stafford County.

She married Jesse "Jack" Turner on Feb. 2, 1947, in Elkhart. He survives.

She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1941, and later earned her emergency teaching certificate.

She worked as a schoolteacher, at the Elkhart Motel, and was a homemaker and farmer.

Her hobbies included embroidery, and working crossword puzzles.

She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, and the Alter Society, both of Elkhart.

She had been an Elkhart resident since 1939.

Other survivors include, one nephew, Donald Howell, Elkhart; one niece, Anita Strothman, Elkhart; one brother, Charles Sloan, Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Loretta Howell, and Margaret Forbes, both of Elkhart; numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Vigil and rosary services will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart.

Funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart.

Burial will be at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.

Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson Association in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O. Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.

STEVEN M. DOUGLAS

MINNEOLA -- Steven Michael "Mike" Douglas, 53, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, as the result of an auto accident in Ciudad Ojeda, Venezuela.

He was born April 21, 1949, to Jack and Eulela (Snodgrass) Douglas in Fowler.

He married Billie Lou Fevina June 29, 1978, in New Orleans. He later married Iraiz Del Rosario Berttiz Jan. 10, 2002, in New Orleans. She survives.

He graduated from Liberal High School in 1967.

He was employed by Superior Energy LLC in New Orleans. He worked out of Venezuela as a Latin America manager. He was involved in the oil field service industry of Louisiana for approximately 30 years. He worked for Cardinal Wireline, Western Wireline Services Inc., Wiremaster Inc., River Rental Tools and Cudd Pressure Control.

He served for four years in the U.S. Army.

Other survivors include one unborn son, Michael Dillon Douglas; one daughter, Bridget Lynn Williams and husband, Louis, New Orleans; one brother, Alan Douglas and wife, Julie, Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Jill Swartz and husband, Rick, Tyrone, Okla.; step-mother, Margaret Douglas, Minneola; uncle, Gary Snodgrass and wife, Tamara, Sunray, Texas; four nephews; four nieces; two great-nephews; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven Michael Douglas II; and one brother, Brad Laverne Douglas.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Highland Cemetery in Ashland with the Rev. Orlando Jantz presiding.

Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice in care of Minnis Mortuary, P.O. Box 459, Minneola, KS 67865.

MARJORIE F. FOSTER

PLAINS -- Marjorie Frances Foster, 69, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Meade District Hospital in Meade.

She was born March 21, 1933, to Orval and Frances Ishmael Brown in Browning, Mo.

She married James T. Foster July 1, 1951, in Linneus, Mo. He died May 22, 1994.

She graduated from Meadeville High School in Meadeville, Mo., in 1951.

In 1968, she moved to Plains. She worked for the FSA Office in Liberal and retired in 1995.

She later worked at Plains Medical Clinic for four and a half years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plains; Order of Eastern Star in Liberal, where she served as past Worthy Matron and received her 25-year pin; and KASCOE.

Survivors include five sons, Michael Foster and wife, Pat, Modesto, Calif., Larry Foster and Leslie Foster and wife, Regina, all of Meade, Leroy Foster and wife, Shelley, Liberal, and Dennis Foster and wife, Connie, Plains; one daughter, Kathy Shelman and husband, Larry, Plains; two brothers, Bill Brown, Minneapolis, and Norris Brown, Gainsville, Texas; one sister, Ilene Brown, Plains; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marilyn Speers and Evelyn Brown.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Plains with the Rev. George Henry presiding.

Burial will be at Plains Cemetery in Plains.

Friends may call from 1-7 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the Meade Medical Clinic for special equipment in care of Fidler-Orme Mortuary, P.O. Box 70, 212 S. Fowler St., Meade, KS 67864.
