BEN BURTZLOFF
Ben Burtzloff, 63, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at his home in Liberal.
He was born Oct. 31, 1939, to Walter E. and Sylvia M. (Purintun) Burtzloff in Gorgon, Neb.
He married Nancy E. Twedt Dec. 31, 1967, in Spinks, S.D. She survives.
He graduated from high school in 1957 in Rushville, Neb. He graduated from Washington State University in Une 1974, receiving a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy.
He was a registered pharmacist, working in Washington, Missouri and 18 years at Southwest Medical Center Pharmacy. He retired in June 1999.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Kansas Hospital Pharmacy Assoication.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mary Ellen Burtzloff, Overland Park; three brothers, Harold Burtzloff and wife, Ellen, Tucson, Ariz., Bob Burtzloff and wife, Jill, Kismet, and Tom Burtzloff and wife, Tina, Ellsworth; two sisters, Sharon Clark and husband, Jim, Auburn, Neb., and Audrey Witt, Liberal; one aunt, Dorothy Hunzicker, Guernsey, Wyo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal with the Pastor Scott Nilsen presiding.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Girls Town or donor's choice in care of Miller Mortuary, 908 N. Lincoln, Liberal, KS 67905.
HILDA C. LEVALLEY
MEADE -- Hilda C. LeValley, 91, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at Methodist Home in Enid, Okla.
She was born Nov. 3, 1911, to John James and Mary Lucinda (Grace) Russell in Kentucky.
She married Omer L. LeValley Dec. 29, 1929, in Turpin, Okla. He died Aug. 10, 1984.
She was a resident of Enid for the past seven years, moving from Meade.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Elsie Chapel Home Demonstration Unit, United Methodist Church and Methodist Circle, all in Meade.
Her hobbies included cooking for friends and family.
Survivors include three sons, Stan LeValley, Childress, Texas, Bill LeValley, Traverse City, Mich., and Ron LeValley, Bird City; one daughter, Sue McDowell, Enid; one sister, Wanda Jean Smith, Springfield, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one infant son; three brothers; two sisters; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Meade with the Rev. Bill Stout presiding.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade.
Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Friday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.

LENA (KOEHN) RATZLAFF
MONTEZUMA -- Lena (Koehn) Ratzlaff, 93, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Bethel Home Inc. in Montezuma where she had been a resident since March 9, 1990.
She was born June 25, 1909, to David C. and Eva (Schmidt) Koehn in Isabella, Okla.
She married Joe Ratzlaff Aug. 15, 1954, in Winton, Calif. He died March 4, 1968.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Homeland Church of God in Christ Mennonite in Montezuma.
Survivors include one step-son, Raymond Ratzlaff and wife, Velda, Montezuma; one brother, Dave A. Koehn, Cimarron; five grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Homeland Mennonite Church in Montezuma with the Ministers Vernon Koehn, Donald Koehn and Luther Smith presiding.
Burial will be at Homeland Mennonite Cemetery
in Montezuma.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Montezuma Funeral Home in Montezuma.

CLAUDE A. WRISTON
LYONS -- Claude Alfred Wriston, 66, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Lyons District Hospital in Lyons.
He was born June 10, 1936, to Claude Henderson and Annie Scott Wriston in Liberal.
He married Yolonda Little Nov. 7, 1957, in Loveland, Colo. She died in 1982.
He was a resident of Lyons since 1977, moving from Little River.
He was a retired farmer and oil field worker.
Survivors include companion Penny Wriston, Lyons; one son, Ricky Wriston, Kansas City; one daughter, Luann Teel, Dodge City; one step-daughter, Tammy Williams, Lyons; one brother, Gene Wriston, Sydney, Neb.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gaylen Wriston.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Liberal Cemetery
in Liberal with the Rev. Robert Friesen presiding.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.

JUDITH A. TRAFFORD
WICHITA -- Judith Ann Trafford, 61, former Forgan, Okla., resident, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002.
She married Floyd Trafford. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother Edith Lenertz, Coldwater; one son, Jack Lousch, Manhattan; one daughter, Jill Carter and husband, Troy, Forgan; one brother, Jerry Lenertz, Coldwater; two step-daughters, Debra Johnson and husband, Bill, and Beth Wilson, all of Littlerock, Ark.; grandchildren, Madi and Kenan Lousch, Cassandra, Kodie and Tanner Carter, Try and Nick Massingill, Bethany Scott and David Johnson; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her father, Lester Lenertz; one son, Scott Lousch; and one sister, Roberta Rhodd.
Memorial services were at 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Coldwater.

ERMA J. LUCAS
TOPEKA -- Erma Jean Goosen Lucas, 90, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at Midland Hospice House.
She was born June 21, 1912, to Abraham D. and Lydia Spady Goosen in Hooker, Okla.
She married Leslie Harry Lucas Dec. 4, 1934, in Ashland. He died Feb. 15, 1963.
She lived in Liberal for 50 years before moving to Topeka in 1989.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Nazarene faith.
Survivors include two sons, William R. Lucas, Overland Park, and Larry L. Lucas, Hartfield, Va..; three daughters, Leslie A. Kendrick, Durham, Okla., Betty L. Lucas, Visalia, Calif., and Dixie J. Hilliard, Topeka; one brother, John G. Goosen, Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marion Goosen and Harris Goosen.
Memorial services were at 1 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel in Topeka.
Cremation has taken place.
Inurnment will take place at a later date.

SADIE BARRAGREE
MEADE -- Sadie Barragree, 81, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at Fowler Nursing Home in Fowler.
She was born May 7, 1921, to William D. and Helen Lurea (Marshall) Barragree in Meade County.
She had been a lifetime resident of Meade.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sisters, Lurea Beckman, Wentzville, Mo., and Iva Meins, Meade; one sister-in-law, Theresa Barragree, Dodge City; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today at St. John Catholic Church in Meade.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church with the Father John Stuart presiding.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade.
Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme Mortuary in Meade.
