RUBY M. SHARP

HUTCHINSON -- Ruby Marie Sharp, 87, former Liberal resident, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at her daughter's residence.

She was born Sept. 9, 1915, to Joe Berry and Rebecca Dunaway Fisher in Polk County, Mo.

She married Bernerd G. Sharp July 18, 1932, in Greensburg. He died Dec. 4, 1961.

She was a resident of Hutchinson since 1996, moving from Liberal.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Fetter and husband, Lawrence, Hutchinson; one brother, Ray Fisher, Sterling; one sister, Lesta Fisher, Bolivar, Mo.; three grandchildren, Mark Fetter, Ft. Collins, Colo., Rod Fetter, Woodcliff Lake, N.J., and Jeff Fetter, Andover; two great-granddaughters, Kalyn Fetter and Katie Fetter, Ft. Collins.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Sharp.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Mullinville with the Pastor Melvin Walton presiding.

Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Friends may call from until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliotts.

Memorials are suggested to Hutchinson Public Library or Hospice of Reno County in care of Elliot Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

RUSSELL L. MCKINNEY

ENGLEWOOD -- Russell Lynn McKinney, 36, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at his family's ranch northwest of Englewood.

He was born Feb. 12, 1966, to Charles R. and Gloria A. (Thompson) McKinney in Meade.

He graduated from Ashland High School with Suma Cum Laude honors in 1984. He attended Pratt Community College in Pratt and graduated with a degree in engineering from Pittsburg University in Pittsburg.

He was a resident of Wichita, formerly living in Englewood.

He was an aerospace engineer at Raytheon Aircraft in Wichita.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Englewood, the National Rifle Association and the Society of Plastic Engineers.

Survivors include his parents, of rural Englewood; one brother, James Wesley McKinney and wife, Ronda, rural Englewood; and one sister, Gayla Lea Schwertfeger, Turon.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Wesley McKinney in 1990, Marjorie McKinney in 1927, Esther McKinney in 1969, Pearl McKinney in 1985 and Sam Thompson in 1966.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Englewood Auditorium in Englewood with the Minister Vic Peterson presiding.

Burial will be at Englewood Cemetery in Englewood.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Myatt Funeral Home in Ashland.

Memorials are suggested to the Russell Lynn McKinney Memorial Fund in care of Myatt Funeral Home, P.O. Box 578, Ashland, KS 67831.

CHESTER H. INGRAM

PAMPA, Texas -- Chester H. Ingram, 72, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, in Pampa.

He was born June 23, 1930, in Moore, Okla.

He was an Air Force veteran.

He had lived in Pampa since 1978. He worked for Malcolm Hinkle until 1986. He owned and operated Ingram Plumbing for 17 years.

He was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, Chuck Ingram, Pampa, and Tim Ingram, Liberal; four brothers, Floyd Ingram, Chickasha, Okla., Harold Ingram, Okemah, Okla., George Ingram, Great Falls, Mont., and Richard Ingram, Moore; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa with the Rev. Gene Allen presiding.

Burial was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa.

Memorials are suggested to crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101.

Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in Pampa was in charge of arrangements.

JOHN SEABOLT

NORTON -- John Seabolt, 89, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, in Norcatur.

He was born May 3, 1913, to William Samuel and Emma Ruth (Dort) Seabolt near Ramona, Okla.

He married Frieda Louise Lawson July 27, 1935, in Bartlesville, Okla. She survives.

He attended rural grade school in Oklahoma.

He and his wife made their home in Oklahoma and Kansas before moving to Norcatur in 1973.

Other survivors include three sons, Charles Seabolt and wife, Arden, Kismet, Carl Seabolt and wife, Linda, Benkelman, Nebraska, and William Seabolt and wife, Loretta, Colony; two daughters, Joyce Anderson and husband, Louis, Norcatur, and Deloris Dinkel and husband, Leroy, Morland; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earnest and Albert; one sister, Mary Crabtree; one grandson; and two great-grandsons.

Graveside services were at 1:30 p.m. today at Norcatur Cemetery in Norcatur with the Pastor Charles Keller presiding.

Burial was at Norcatur Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the John Seabolt Memorial Fund in care of Enfield Funeral Home, 215 W. Main, Norton, KS 67654.

ROBERT W. YARNELL

BENTON, Ariz. -- Robert Walker Yarnell, 80, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Ariz.

He was born June 9, 1922, to Leo and Cora (Walker) Yarnell in Hutchinson.

He married Marie Platt. She survives.

He attended Hutchinson Junior College for two years until he entered the U. S. Army during World War II. After the war he enrolled at Kansas State University where he received his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.

He served in the European Theater with the 342nd Medical Detachment of the U.S. Army Infantry Division.

He worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. in Liberal for 35 years until his retirement in 1983.

He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Village Men's Chorus, Hot Springs Village Symphony Guild, Hot Springs Village Choir, Village Concert Association and Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines Church. He was a former member of the Men's 18 Hole Golf Association.

Other survivors include two sons, Gregory Yarnell and wife, Maribeth, Wichita, and Christopher Yarnell and wife, Gay, Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Kimberly Miller, Liberal; seven grandchildren, Adam, Bethany, Jessica, Preston and Sarah Yarnell, and Brian and Jody Miller; and one nephew, Kent Yarnell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Warren Yarnell.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines with Dr. Michael D. Seitz and the Rev. Sam H. Pope presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the music fund at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines, 275 Asturias Drive, Hot springs Village, AR 71909.

Hot Springs Village Cremation and Memorial Society in Benton is in charge of arrangements.

CHARLES E. WARD

Charles E. "Skeebo" Ward, 46, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Dec. 28, 1955, to Charles E. and Beatrice Ward Lowe in Lubbock, Texas.

He graduated from Liberal High School in 1975 and received his associate's of arts degree from Seward County Community College in Liberal. He also attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla.

He did his student teaching at Liberal High School and South Junior High.

He worked for Schlumberger Oil Field Service in Houston for several years before transferring to Liberal. He also worked for Jr. Rathole Service.

He lived in Great Bend and returned to Liberal in 1993.

He was a member of Bibleway Church of God in Christ in Liberal.

Survivors include his father, of Las Vegas; one daughter, Shanita Mitchell, Liberal; two brothers, Troy Cooper, Rolla, and Mike Cooper, Liberal; two sisters, Leatrice Bolden, Little Rock, Ark., and Debra Carr, Garden City; and one grandson, Cedrick Tatum, Liberal.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bibleway Church of God in Christ with the Revs. B.D. Williams and Lawrence Johnson presiding.

Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8-11 a.m. Thursday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

MARSHALL F. WALKER JR.

ULYSSES -- Marshall F. Walker Jr., 84, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

He was born March 24, 1918, to Marshall F. Sr. and Mary Louise (Taylor) Walker in Brownsville, Tenn.

He married Evelyn Lorraine Geist July 6, 1945, in Hutchinson. She died June 14, 1963.

He married Esther E. Wilson April 17, 1966, in Marienthal. She survives.

He had been a resident of Ulysses since 1951.

He was the Grant County agriculture agent and extension director until his retirement in 1986.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses, where he was a Sunday School superintendent and teacher for numerous years.

In 1963, he received the Certificate of Distinguished Service from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents and served as a trainer for young agents.

He was the 1975 Grant County Citizen of the Year, was active in the Grant County Chamber of Commerce and was a past president of the organization.

He organized the 100 Bushel Milo Club, which was later known as the Bonanza Club.

In 1977, the auditorium at the Grant County Civic Center was named Walker Auditorium.

He was also a member of other local and state organizations.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Other survivors include two sons, Mike Walker, Garden City, and Bob Walker and wife, Joy, Satanta; one daughter, Marsha Rakestraw and husband, John, Portland, Ore.; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Walker, Leawood; one brother, Bill Walker, Cananan, N.Y.; one sister, Carolyn Hawkins, Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Lindsey Walker, Luke Walker, Monica Thill, Michael Walker and wife, April, Heather Walker, Amy Walker and Jennifer Walker; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Thill, Xavier Walker and Brooklyn Walker.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, William Lynn Walker and Marshall "Mark" F. Walker III.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses with the Rev. H. Livingston presiding.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Committee or to the Grant County 4-H Council, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.
