KATHARIN M. PRESLEY
ROLLA -- Katharin Mayree (McKinley) Presley, 93, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.
She was born April 6, 1909, to Thomas H. and Era (Rogers) McKinley in Texas County, Okla.
She married Thomas D. Presley Oct. 31, 1931, in Liberal. He died in November 1965.
She spent her early years in Hooker, Okla., and rural Texas County.
She attended grade school at Hooker Prairie Rose Country School. She attended high school in Optima, Okla., and Goodwell, Okla., where she graduated from.
She received her life-long teaching certificate from PAMC.
She taught at country schools in the Oklahoma Panhandle area before she and her husband moved to Morton County in 1932 from Hooker.
She was a member of the Rolla Baptist Church, Senior Citizens Group of Rolla and American Baptist Women.
Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Easterwood, Rolla, and Maxine Thompson, Vacaville, Calif.; one brother, Stanley McKinley, Hooker; one sister, June Elliot, Amarillo, Texas; and one brother-in-law, Douglas Cauble, Big Lake, Texas.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lawrence Presley; one daughter, Joyce Irons; two brothers, Thomas McKinley and Woodrow McKinley; one sister, Georgia Mae Couble; one step-brother, Emmitt Hughey; and two step-sisters, Irene Crawford and Doris Ragsdale.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Emanuel Baptist Church in Rolla with the Pastor Danny Joiner presiding.
Burial will be at Hooker Cemetery
in Hooker.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9-11 a.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.

DOROTHY F. KOOCHEL
GREAT BEND -- Dorothy F. Koochel, 87, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus in Great Bend.
She was born Nov. 15, 1915, to John J. and Anna Folke (Budde) Wilhelm in Great Bend.
She married Olin E. Koochel Nov. 21, 1938, in Timken. He died Oct. 23, 1995.
She was a homemaker.
She had been a lifetime resident of Barton and Rush Counties.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include two sons, Larry J. Koochel, Liberal, and John T. Koochel, Great Bend; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Wilhelm; and two sister, Selma Dyer and Gladys Brown.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Great Bend with the Rev. Gary Brooks presiding.
Burial will be at Great Bend Cemetery
in Great Bend.
Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

BETTY J. BLAKE
Betty J. Blake, 75, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born Sept. 3, 1927, to Houston and Nannie L. (Parker) Owens in Wichita.
She married Carl W. Hightower Sr. in 1942.
She married Bill Blake Feb. 28, 1949, in Clayton, N.M. He died Aug. 21, 1992.
She attended school in Elmwood, Okla.
She cooked in restaurants in Syracuse and Garden City before moving to Liberal in 1979. She was a secretary for Bill Blake Construction for many years.
Survivors include three sons, Carl Hightower and wife, Sherri, Liberal, and Steve Blake and Jerry Blake, both of Nebraska; three daughters, Linda Harding and husband, Darrell, Liberal, and Retha Ballinger and Debra Rollins, both of Wichita; one brother, Pete Owens, Oklahoma City; one sister, Patty Hinton and husband, Gene, Liberal; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Miller Chapel in Liberal.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

BARBARA A. HOLT
Barbara A. House Holt, 63, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born May 19, 1939, to Alden and Pauline (Edmiston) Peek in Tulsa, Okla.
She married Dale House in July 1960. He died in 1983.
She graduated from high school in Bellflower, Calif.
She ranched and later owned and operated restaurants in Kansas and Alaska.
She moved to Liberal in 1991 and worked at the Texaco Truck Stop and later at Summitt.
She was a baptist.
Her hobbies included crocheting and reading.
Survivors include two sons, David L. Davis and wife, Linda, Liberal, and Hugh Anthony "Tony" House, Anderson, S.C.; one daughter, Paula Park and husband, Dennis, Liberal; one brother, Charles Lee Peek, Libby, Mont.; one sister, Donna Rae Spears, Winslow, Ariz.; and three grandchildren, Kayla Colvin Johnson and husband, Cody, Quinter, and Dale Len and Dayton Lewis Davis, both of Liberal.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Liberal Cemetery
with the Rev. Keith Bryant presiding.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
FAYE DANIEL
Faye Daniel, 85, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born Aug. 21, 1917, to Albert and Lucretia (Helsel) Strobel in Pratt County.
She married James C. Naylor in March 1935. He died in 1962.
She married Reagan Daniel in 1970 in Reno, Nev. He died in 1989.
She served as deputy treasurer of Gray County for several years.
She moved to Liberal from California in 1989.
She sang for the Christian Church in Cimarron for more than 30 years.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and was past noble grand, and she was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary, all in Cimarron.
Survivors include one daughter, Laurita Barr and husband, Donald, Liberal; four grandchildren, Donald Barr Jr., and wife, Janie, Melody Gonzalez and husband, Gerardo, and Tammi Watts, all of Liberal, and Candy Urwin, Dodge City; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica Hoyt, Jason Chapa, Fabian Favela, Misty Barr, Sarah Longoria, Marina Rageth and Cassandra Barr; and one great-great-granddaughter, Michela Hoyt.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Stephanie Urwin.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller Chapel in Liberal with the Rev. Keith Bryant presiding. Cremation has already taken place.
Inurnment will be at Cimarron Cemetery
in Cimarron at a later date.

ADA L. FEDERER
MEADE -- Ada Lillian Federer, 91, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Meade District Hospital in Meade.
She was born March 18, 1911, to Richard W. and Nettie Pearl (Isbell) Boyd in Hodgensville, Ky.
She married Clyde Leroy Federer June 6, 1946, in Lancaster, Ohio. He survives.
She and her husband lived in Newton where they owned and operated Clyde's Shoes for many years. They later sold the business and retired, moving to Bella Vista, Ark., where they lived for 10 years. She and her husband later moved to Weslaco, Texas, living there for 20 years before moving to Meade in October 1998.
She had been a head checker for Dillon's. She also worked for Liberal Gas Company and First Federal Savings and Loan in Liberal.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Meade and was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi in Liberal.
Other survivors include one sister, June Anderson, Liberal; two grandsons, Del Rhodes, Casper, Wyo., and Richard Rhodes, Fargo, N.D.; three nephews; two nieces; and three cousins.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Rhodes; two brothers, Clyde and Berkley Boyd; and one sister, Dorinda Boyd.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary Chapel in Meade with the Rev. Harry Fink presiding.
Cremation has taken place.
Inurnment will be at Graceland Cemetery
in Meade.
