DORENE J. HITCHCOCK

Dorene Joyce Hitchcock, 63, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at her home in Liberal.

She was born Oct. 27, 1938, to Arnold and Oakie (Bell) Hillman in Hays.

She married Larry Folkers in WaKeeney.

She later married Carl "Butch" Hitchcock in Clayton, N.M.

She had been a resident of Liberal for 25 years.

She was raised and educated in WaKeeney.

She was a graduate of Liberal School of Hairdressing.

She was employed as a telephone operator before she became the office manager of Zenith Drilling. She was also the canteen manager of the VFW in Liberal.

She was a past member of the Willow Ladies Golf Association, Petroleum Club and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, all of Liberal.

Survivors include two sons, Charles "Chuck" Folkers, Quinter, and Alan Folkers, Oklahoma City; three daughters, Debra Dietz, Pratt, LaRae Hinz, Liberal, and Carla Williams, Joplin, Mo.; one sister, JoAnne Claycamp, McKinney, Texas; her special friend, Richard "Dick" Parmenter, Liberal; nine grandchildren, Justin Dietz, Jamie Dietz, Jody Dietz, Ashley Folkers, Chad Hinz, Brad Hinz, Christopher Williams and Courtney Williams; four great-grandchildren, Morgan McElroy, Marissa Hinz, Jordyn Hinz, Duncan Hinz and Adrain Dietz; and two nephews and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Aaron Jon Dietz.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal with the Pastor Jan Johnson presiding.

Cremation has already taken place.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second St., Liberal, KS 67901.

GILBERT R. ESTRADA

Gilbert R. Estrada, 53, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at his home in Liberal.

He was born April 7, 1948, to Isidra (Chila) Estrada in Kansas City, Kan.

He was a dorm director from 1974 to 1984, served as financial director of Benedictine College in Atchison from 1984 until 1998, and was director of financial aide at Seward County Community College from 1998 until the time of his death.

Survivors include four brothers, Carlos Morales, Denver, Paul G. Estrada and Frank A. Estrada, both of Kansas City, Kan., and Arthur Estrada, Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Josephine Ramos, Kansas City, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kan.

Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. today at Simmons Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kan.

Memorials are suggested to the Seward County Community College Development Foundation in care of Gilbert Estrada Memorial School Fund, P.O. Box 1137, Liberal, KS 67905-1137.

ARTHUR L. OWENS

Arthur Lee Owens, 60, Liberal, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

He was born Feb. 2, 1941, to Levert and Carrie Owens in Dumas, Ark.

He married Travistine Miller Feb. 16, 1970, in Arkansas City, Ark. She survives.

He moved to Liberal in 1970.

He had been a machinist at Tradewinds for 18 years. He was also a machinist at National Beef Packing for the past 13 years.

He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Liberal.

Other survivors include his mother of Liberal; five sons, Charlie Owens and Dexter Owens, both of Liberal, Arthur Owens Jr., Arizona, Leadell Owens, Detroit, and Levon Owens, Little Rock, Ark.; four daughters, Stacy Owens and Vicky King, both of Liberal, and Particia Owens and Pricella Owens, both of Michigan; three brothers, J.C. Binns and Levert Owens, both of Liberal, and Artis Owens, McGhee, Ark.; four sisters, Dorothy Greeley, Monroe, La., Helen Burries, Amarillo, Texas, Shirley Hackett and Ruthie Owens, both of Queens, N.Y.; and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and three children.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Miller Chapel in Liberal with David Vartian presiding.

Burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at Miller Mortuary.

RAYMON F. FULLER

Raymon F. Fuller, 71, Liberal, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at the Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal.

He was born Aug. 14, 1930, to John and Agnes Fuller in Turkey, Texas.

He married Wanda Grant in 1951 in Matador, Texas.

He married Elsie R. (Downs) Riggens in 1982 in Liberal.

He attended school in Canadian, Texas.

He owned and operated a Gulf Oil station for 11 years in Canadian. He moved to Liberal in 1960, where he owned and operated the Liberal Laundry and Linen Service. He was later a route salesman for Admiral Linen Supply of Amarillo, Texas, for many years.

He moved to Hugoton, where he worked for Halliburton Energy Services. He later worked for the Stevens County Road Department

until his retirement in 1992.

Survivors include three sons, Terry Fuller and wife, Jenifer, Kinsley, and Randy Fuller and wife, Michele, and Johnny Fuller and wife, Ronda, all of Turpin, Okla.; one daughter, Dana Parker and husband, Steven, Elizabeth, Ind.; one brother, Donald Fuller and wife, Boots, Canadian; one sister, Edna Perry, Ardmore, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Chapel in Liberal with Bill Moore presiding.

Burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery in Liberal.

Friends may call from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.

SARAH JUSTICE

Sarah Justice, 96, Liberal, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at the Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal.

She was born Jan. 20, 1905, to Joel and Mary Etta (Reams) Raines in Langdon.

She married Ivan Nelson Justice Dec. 2, 1926, in Hutchinson. He died March 20, 1982.

She had been a resident of Pratt for 25 years before moving to Denver, where she lived for 25 years. She then moved to Liberal in 1977.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Liberal.

Survivors include two daughters, Marge Knop and husband, Bill, Tyrone, Okla., and Mary Lou McCoy and husband, Craig, Peoria, Ariz.; two sisters, Ruth Teagarden, Pratt, and Lee Greer, Greeley, Colo.; six grandchildren, Kent and Rita Knop, Guymon, Okla., Debbie Haight and Martin and Connie Knop, all of Tyrone, Carrie and Scott Kossoudji and Carla Nardi, all of Columbus, Ohio, and Dina and Anthony Benoit, Glendale, Ariz.; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home in Liberal with the Rev. Keith Bryant presiding.

Burial will follow at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.

Memorials are suggested to either First Southern Baptist Church or Liberal Good Samaritan Center -- Special Care Unit, both in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second St., Liberal, KS 67901.

KERI E. PETERSON

Keri Esther Peterson, 41, Liberal, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Oologah, Okla.

She was born June 12, 1960, to Ralph D. and Jenelle (Simmons) Hill in Liberal.

She married Curtis Jody Peterson June 12, 1978, in Hooker, Okla. He survives.

She attended school in Hooker and graduated in 1978.

She and her husband lived in Liberal for the past 11 years.

She worked as a secretary at Liberal Feeders.

She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Her hobbies included making all kinds of crafts, especially ceramics, doing cross-stitch and beading.

Other survivors include her parents of Amarillo, Texas; one son, Justin Peterson and wife, Tabatha, Liberal; two grandchildren, Blaine and Tristin Peterson, both of Liberal; one brother, Kelly Hill, Amarillo; one sister, Karalee Hill, Liberal; and her grandmother, Nellie Hill, Liberal.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Bailee Peterson; her grandfather, Alex J. Hill II; and grandparents Wallace and Esther Simmons.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker with the Brother Ron Mimms and Pastor Wyatt Carpenter presiding.

Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker under the direction of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.
