She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Nora Voorhies Kurtz. The widow of A.B. Davis. Mrs. Davis is survived by her two brothers Clarence Kurtz and Jeff Kurtz, both of Harrodsburg and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Dennis Davis, her brother Alvin Kurtz, and her five sisters Jessie Kurtz Sims, Hazel Sims, Margaret Tumey, Naomi Rhea Kurtz, and Mary Louise Carter

She was a former Nurses' Assistant, a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School for twenty five years, been a choir member, and had worked in Missions. She was a former volunteer at Harrodsburg Health Care Center, and she enjoyed collecting cups and saucers.

Funeral service for Mrs. Davis will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with her nephews serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. To 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

He was the son of the late Ronald K. Tatum and Patsy Byrd Schoebel of Danville. Additional survivors include his step father Richard Schoebel of Danville. Three sons Jamie Lynn Tatum and his wife Carline of Harrodsburg. Robbie Eugene Tatum of Danville. Ronald K. Tatum of Nicholasville. His step son David Bartley of Harrodsburg, One daughter Bobbie Jo Seinhauer and her husband Scott of Danville. Two brothers Gary Dean Tatum and his wife Vickie of Harrodsburg. Timothy Lee Tatum of Harrodsburg. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three aunts and one uncle.

A member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a farm worker. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday April 15, 2004 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

She was the daughter of the late Stallard "Doc" Bailey and Ora Mae Claunch Bailey. Survivors include two sons Jimmy Steele of Louisville, Willard "Butch" Steele, Jr. of Harrodsburg. Two daughters Trudy Treadway of Lexington and Mary Jennette of Lexington. A twin sister Gertrude Gray of Harrodsburg. Two half brothers Danny Bailey of Harrodsburg and Bobby Bailey of Harrodsburg. Ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by four sisters Hattie Pearl Semones, Lettie Adams, Iva Norvel and Louise McMillan.

A retired Cricketeer employee and she had worked at several restaurants in Harrodsburg including Appletree, Stone Manor, Ball Park and Ann's. She was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday August 18, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Tony Gray, Mark Steele, Chad Steele, Billy Treadway, Kevin Treadway, and Chuck Jennette serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Clarence Steele, Bobby Bailey, and Danny Bailey.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. To 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Interment: Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg

He was born December 31, 1927 in Falmouth, Kentucky to the late Audrey and Fannie McKinney King. Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Mary Roberts King; two daughters, Judith Peach (Richard) of Versailles, and Susan Hunt (Tony) of Danville; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers: Homer, Langley, Melvin, Estill, and Herbert, and a sister, Elsie.

He was a World War II Army Veteran, and a 1950 graduate of the University of Kentucky. He was a retired Soil Conservationist, having served Mercer and Boyle counties, and was also a farmer.

He attended the Bohon Christian Church; however his membership remained at the Oakland Christian Church in Pendleton County.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bros. Leonard Price and Jim Terry officiating. Burial followed in Spring Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Roger, Ricky, and Jerome King, Will Browning, Charlie Baker, and Jimmy Howard. Honorary bearers were James Ellis, John Tuggle, and Jimmy Keller.

He was the son of Carrie Rice Hall of Four Mile, Kentucky and the late Robert Bruce Hall. Besides his mother, Edward is survived by his son Jacob Andrew Hall of Roseburg, IN., two brothers: Andrew and his wife Norma Hall of Middlesboro, and Robert Bruce Hall of Middlesboro. Four sisters Rita Hall and her husband Stacy Miller of Harrodsburg, Betty Joe and her husband Leo Benjamin of Harrodsburg, Patsy Sue Hall-Sparks and her husband Berlon of Richmond, IN., and Edith and her husband Rick Reed of Brookville, IN.. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bill Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Berlon Sparks, Jacob Hall, Kenneth Cox, Jerry Reynolds, Freddie Dunn, and Robert Miller serving as pallbearers. Friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Born October 16, 1922 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William Russell and Tazzie Williams Herring . She was a member of the Mt. Moriah Christian Church in Stanford, she loved quilting, and being a homemaker. She had worked at the McAfee Market. Survivors include her son B.W. and his wife Jane Proctor of Millington, TN., three daughters: Jo and her husband Walter Cecil Cummins of Lancaster, Gayle Salyers of Lexington and Peggy Travillian of Harrodsburg. A daughter-in-law Margaret Proctor of Harrodsburg. Eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Cleo Proctor and her sister Blanche Biens. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday July 31, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Cox officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbeares will be Hobert Proctor, Mike Culligan, Daniel Wright, J. R. Cummins, Samantha Carroll, Susan Wofford and Brian Mardis. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

She was born in Clay County, Kentucky, September 14, 1937 to the late Nathaniel (Mac) Pennington and Della Hensley Pennington. A sales associate at Wal-Mart in Harrodsburg. A member of Harrodsburg Church of God where she served as secretary and treasurer of the Ladies Ministries and was active in Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include one daughter Sherry Jean Pope and her husband David of Harrodsburg. Three sons Russell H. Bruner and his wife Joyce of Nicholasville. Staff Sgt. Forest McDowell Bruner and his wife Dawn of Seoul, South Korea and Chris Baker and his wife Donna of Harrodsburg. Two brothers Alfred Donald Pennington and his wife Rella of Harrodsburg, Arthur Lee "Butch" Pennington and his wife Judy of Middletown, Ohio. Three sisters Emma Jean Hicks of West Harrison, Indiana, Eunice Cole of Harrodsburg and Betty Lou Baker and her husband David R. of Harrodsburg. Ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers Stanley and Forest Pennington and one sister Ollie Mae (Polly) Lamb.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday July 29, 2004 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Bro. Glenn Daugherty. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Bruner, Kenneth Baker, Tony Peavler, Stanley Cole, Ronnie Cole and Charles Cole. Visitation 6:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 7:00 A.M. Thursday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

She was the daughter of the late Talbert and Laura Meadors Ballard. She was a retired staff worker for the ILGWU, and a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church. She was the flower lady at McDowell Place, enjoyed traveling, reading and was a former caregiver. Survivors include one son: Dr. Garnett Leonard and his wife, Terri, North Little Rock, Arkansas; one daughter: Evelyn Taylor, Harrodsburg; two sisters: Frieda Guilfoil, Athens and June Talberta Vise, Athens; four grandchildren: John Leonard, Alabama, Teresa Cruz, Florida, Bonnie Taylor Gibson, Ohio and Holli Henry, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by one sister: Beatrice Kirkpatrick and her son-in-law: Dale Taylor.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Robert DeFoor and Bro. Terry Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with William Guilfoil, Tommy Guilfoil, Duane Guilfoil, Bradley Guilfoil, Phillip Thompson and Dennis Gibson serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

She was the widow of Paul C. Bussell. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Effie Yeast Shewmaker. Mrs. Bussell is survived by her daughter Delores Jane and her son-in-law Tom Moore of Danville. Three sisters Elva Oldham of Harrodsburg, Marcella Burns of Lexington, and Rosella Lawson of Harrodsburg. Two grandchildren Dr. Paul Moore of Kingsport, TN. and Joanna Siders of Aikem, S.C., five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother Merlin (Bud) Shewmaker.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Chaplain Gary Story officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Robert Pike, Cecil Hutchinson, Cordell Brown, Roy Lynn Oldham, Travis Oldham, and W.A. Miller serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Vincent Byron Riley, 35, of Cole Lane, Harrodsburg, husband of Devauna Prather Riley died Tuesday. Born February 7, 1969 in Louisville, he was the son of Onderia Lynette Ripley Riley of Nicholasville and the late James Byron Riley. Vincent had formerly been a Printing Pressman at Southland Printing in Lexington and was presently working as a self-employed Small Home Repairman. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church where he was actively involved. He was also Assistant Troop Leader of Boy Scout Troop 68, he enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with his family. Besides his wife and mother, Vincent is survived by his two sons Chase Byron and Devon Merrick Riley both of Mercer County. Maternal grandmother Mildred Ripley of Lawrenceburg, Paternal Grandparents Hazel and Tommy Vinning of Lawrenceburg, his sister Lea Lynette (Dave) Klovski of Jackson, Michigan, his niece Samantha Klovski of Jackson, Michigan, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Milburn and Rev. Ray Coats officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Mark Ripley, Scott Brown, Jamie Broce, Tony Thompson, Dave Klovski, and Doug Eades serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Boy Scout Troop 68. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. To 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. He was the husband of Judy Ellis Tharp. He was the son of the late Brack and Miley Walters Tharp. Besides his wife, Clyde is survived by four sons:, Kevin Tharp of Danville, Clyde Tharp, II of Burgin, Chris T. Tharp of Harrodsburg, and Jim Bob Davis of Harrodsburg. Four daughters: Pamela Spain of Harrodsburg, Tammy Harris of Harrodsburg, Rita Phillips of Harrodsburg, and April Cunningham of Liberty. One brother Dudley Tharp of Avon Park, Fl., and three sisters: Mary Elizabeth Tharp of Harrodsburg, Velma Sanders of Danville, and Lois Ann Taylor of Danville. Seventeen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Ansel, Lewis, and Norman Dale Tharp.

He was retired, having worked at HallMack for Nineteen Years and Trim Masters for Fourteen Years. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. Clyde enjoyed fishing and going to yard sales and auctions.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Terry Coslow, Johnny Allen, Wayne Russell, Clarence Phillips, Rick Spain, and Jim Bob Davis serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed King, Bob Wise, Phillip Taylor, James Ellis, Charles Davis, Scott Cunningham, and Grandsons. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Wendell 'Rickey' Francis, 56, of West Office Street, Harrodsburg, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at his residence in the presence of family and friends. He was born December 2, 1947 in Magoffin County. Survivors include his wife of Twenty-Five Years Susan Gullett Francis of Harrodsburg, one daughter Krystal Francis also of Harrodsburg. His father Herman Francis of Salyersville, five sisters Brenda Daniels of Paintsville, Linda Brown of Mt. Vernon, Mary Anne Williams of Gainesville, Fl., Donna Dees of Mt. Vernon, and Carol Bowman of Berea. Three brothers William Francis of Salyersville, David Brown of Dayton, OH., and Darrell Brown of Chillicothe, OH., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Virgie Francis, his natural mother Jewell Francis, his natural father Junior Brown, and one brother Robert Welch of Salyersville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Guerin officiating and a special tribute song being performed by Harry and Margaret Francis. Burial will be in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery with Johnny Brim, Darold Coffman, Phillip Francis, Darrin Smith, Ralph McFerron, and Thomas Merideth. Honorary pallbearers and special friends include Hubert Hall, Jerry Gullett, Donnie Gullett, Arnold Jay Reed, Glen Francis, and Jeffrey Bradshaw. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
