He was the son of the late Henry and Nannie Peach Noel. Mr. Noel is survived by his sister Betty and her husband Billy Joe Hill of Harrodsburg, two nieces: Betty Jo Richmond of England and Beverly Goodpaster of Harrodsburg. Three nephews: Bill Hill of Harrodsburg, Jimmy Noel of Harrodsburg, and Patrick Noel of Lexington. Several nieces and nephews from California also survive.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his brother Bobbie Noel and Billy Noel.

He was retired from the Danville Leaf Tobacco Company in Danville

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the Spring Hill Cemetery with Dr. Kenneth Whitehouse officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home is in Harrodsburg in charge of arrangements.

He was the husband of Lorraine Gastineau Hatfield. Born June 17, 1922 in Lancaster, Kentucky he was the son of the late Everett and Lillie Mae Naylor Hatfield. Additional survivors besides his wife include: two sons: Billy Jay Hatfield and his wife Kathy and Kevin Hatfield all of Harrodsburg; one daughter: Carol Phillips and her husband Paul, eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Irene Scull and Lula Gafney.

He was a farmer and a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Bohon Christian Church where he served as an elder and was a member of the Bluegrass Horse Pullers

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2004 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Terry and Bro. Leonard Price officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Lancaster Cemetery with Chris Hatfield, Brad Darland, Jamie Cecil, Dale McCauley, Art Gaffney, and Kenny Tapp serving as pallbearers and Deacons and Elders of Bohon Christian Church: Ron Nolin, Carl Clark, Jimmy Keller, Charlie Baker, Danny Sallee, and Roger Hatfield, Gary Hatfield, Mike Scull and Melvin Burton serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

He was the son of the late Laural and Sidney Criswell Edwards. Survivors include: one son: Jordan Ray Edwards, Harrodsburg; three daughters: Joy Lynn Martin and her husband James, and Jennifer Lynn Garrity and her husband Josh, all of Lawrenceburg and Taylor Alyssa Edwards of Harrodsburg; two brothers: Francis Edwards and his wife Brenda and Jack Edwards and his wife Tina, all of Salvisa; two sisters: Ruth Douglas and her husband Jimmie and Carletta Daniels and her husband, Dallas, all of Salvisa; one granddaughter: Catlin Elizabeth Martin and several nieces and nephews.

He was a logger for Edwards Sawmill, enjoyed flea markets, knife trading and was an avid U.K. Basketball fan. He was also a former basketball player.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. George Dye and Bro. Dallas Daniels officiating. Burial will be in the Hebron Cemetery with Scotty Edwards, Ray Daniels, Travis Daniels, James Martin, Josh Garrity, Juhon Goodman serving as pallbearers and Robert White, Keith Shouse, Jason Sprinkles, Allan Nichols, Gary Daniels and Lee Chowning serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Gregory, Robert C.

He was the beloved husband of Ruth Jones Gregory, of Moreland Avenue, Harrodsburg, passed from this earth to his heavenly home on November 18, 2004. Born September 19, 1923 in Clay County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Samuel and Laura Hunley Gregory.

He dearly loved our country and was willing to pay any price for its freedom. On February 23, 1947 he joined the United States Army becoming a decorated, wounded three time, First Sargent of Company "F" 60th Infantry at age nineteen. He had always been proud to have been one of the twelve million Americans who wore the uniform during World War II to ensure the hopes and dreams of freedom. He was later Honorably Discharged. He retired as an Electrical Specialist from Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, California. He enjoyed friends, family, and life.

He and his beautiful wife Ruth Gregory had three children: Robert Cecil Gregory, II, now deceased; Norma Gregory of Los Angeles, California, and William Gregory of Montague, California. He is also survived by three sisters, one aunt, ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Gregory will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Michael West officiating. A graveside service will be held 12:30 Monday, November 22, 2004 at the Manchester Memorial Gardens in Manchester, Kentucky.

Tyler, Donald O'Neal "Rat"

He was the husband of 53 years to Betty Brock Tyler. He was the son of the late Herman and Rushie Lee Bottoms Tyler. Additional survivors besides his wife include: one son: Donnie Tyler and his wife Vickie of Salvisa; two daughters: Linda Hardin and her husband, Bobby of Mercer County and Donna Bostic and her husband Ernie of Anderson County; two sisters: Betty Murphy of Lexington and Mary Devine of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson: Dwayne Stumph; two brothers: Curtis and J.C. Tyler and one sister: Sally Ann Hourigan.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He had a partnership with his son as a Brick Layer and then retired after 42 years. A member of the Salvisa United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and was an recycling enthusiast.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Wiley officiating. Burial will be in Kirkwood Cemetery with Mike Tyler, Rudy Tyler, Chuck Tyler, Dennis Tyler, Larry Devine and Louis Sea serving as pallbearers and grandchildren: Angela Tyler, Jason Tyler, David Tyler and Daniel Stumph serving as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Salvisa United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 126, Salvisa, Kentucky 40372.

She was the daughter of the late Carl and Rena Mae Bruner Lowery. She was the widow of William Cecil Taylor. Survivors include: one son: William T. Taylor and his wife Patricia of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Bonnie Taylor Lyons and one grandson: Tommy Taylor.

She was a nursing assistant for James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital for twenty years. She was a member of Cornishville Baptist Church and enjoyed growing flowers.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Pastor Jolene Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Cornishville Baptist Church Cemetery with Jerry Bailey, Ferrell Bailey, Allen Childers, Larry Brown, Lewis Yates and Anthony Milburn serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 12:00 Noon Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Peavler, William R.

December 19, 1917 - November 25, 2004
Harrodsburg, KY

Interment: Peters Cemetery in Mackville, KY

He was the husband for Fifty-Five Years to the late Virgie Watts Peavler, who died November 18, 2004. He was the son of the late Johny and Ida Lawrence Peavler. Mr. Peavler is survived by five sons, Edward “Catfish” Peavler, Hubert “Pud” Peavler, David “Pee Wee” Peavler, all of Harrodsburg, and Robert “Shorty” Peavler and Aubrey Dale “Peck” Peavler both of Lawrenceburg; one daughter Geraldine Jones Vetters of Danville. Fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by one son John Willie Peavler and one sister Evelyn McWilliams.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, where he earned two bronze stars; one in Japan and one while serving in Europe. He had formerly worked at HallMack, Cudahy, and had mowed lawns. He was a member of the Mackville Christian Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Kenneth Meredith officiating. Burial with military Honors will be held in Peters Cemetery in Mackville with Arthur Jackson, Lennie Westerfield, Jeffrey Peavler, Keith Wilder, Lawrence Watts, and Junior Watts serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Smith and Billy Watts, Jr.. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. Monday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Peavler, Donald Lee

He was the husband of Betty Jean Devine Peavler. The son of the late Jack Medley and Ovie Peavler Gaines. Additional survivors besides his wife include: two sons: Ronald Peavler and Robert Peavler of Harrodsburg; two daughters: Becky Peavler Devine, Harrodsburg and Rhonda Peavler Sinkhorn of Danville; three brothers: Kenny Gaines and Tommy Gaines of Louisville, and Grover Phillips of Danville; three sisters: Gracie Smith, Brodhead, Zelma Drury, Harrodsburg and Sheree Thompson, Ashland; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Albert Medley and Marshal Medley and one sister: Beatrice Leonard "Lizzie" Bell Perry.

He was an employee of Corning Glass and a member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Washington County. He loved to hunt deer and turkey; watching old westerns and hunting shows and was an avid U.K. Basketball and NASCAR fan.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2004 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Chuck Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Marvin Dearing, I.C. Phillips, Bradley Smith, Gary Wilson, Philip Milton, Mikey Sinkhorn, John Hardin and Milton Massey serving as pallbearers and Billy Best, Ronnie Best, George Devine, Kenny Devine, Jimmy Devine, Ronnie Wayne Devine, David Releford and Phillip Matzke serving as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

He was the son of William B. Devine of Harrodsburg and Joyce Simpson Hill of Danville. He was the husband of Angie Egbert Devine. The father of his two sons: Johnathan Wayne Devine and Andrew Marshall Devine and his one daughter Crystal Lynn Devine. His maternal grandmother Effie Simpson of Harrodsburg, his mother-in-law Shirley Griggs of Harrodsburg. Three brothers: William Keith Devine of Danville, George Allen Devine of Perryville, and Kelvin Lee Devine of Junction City. Two sisters: Garnetta Mae Benge of Junction City and Sheila Ann Lunsford also of Junction City. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by one daughter Amanda Lynn Devine.

He was a self employed carpenter, a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching old westerns and playing horseshoes.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Derek Baker officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with James Hammack, Larry Siler, Travis Yeager, Wayne Sexton, Michael Egbert, and Matt Burkes serving as pallbearers. Walter Rowe, Ronnie Devine, David Releford, and Bruce Devine will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Lyons, Catherine Hill

June 10, 1920 - December 10, 2004

She was the widow of James H. Lyons, the daughter of the late James Hill and Susie Prewitt Hill Fuell. Survivors include two sons Willis and his wife Jeanne Lyons of Michigan and Floyd and his wife Linda Lyons of Danville. One daughter Mable and her husband Nellus Estes of Harrodsburg. One brother Tommy Hill of Mercer County, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was a homemaker, had been a self employed house cleaner, was a member of the Salt River Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Lyons enjoyed working in her yard and with her flowers.

She was preceded in death by two daughters Virginia Lyons and Frances Ellis and two brothers Jimmy and Johnny Hill.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2004 at the Salt River Baptist Church, 5125 Perryville Road, Danville. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Mike Estes, Greg Estes, Ronnie Lyons, Jimmie Ellis, Bill Beavers, and Robbie Sargent serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Great Grandsons and Darrell Beavers. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. To 9:00 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2004, from 7:00 a.m. To 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home and after 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Salt River Baptist Church.
