He was the husband of the late Dorothy Ball Kimball. He was the son of the late James and Claudia Patton Kimball. Survivors include one brother-in-law: Delbert Ball and his wife, Edna, of Burgin; one sister-in-law: Thelma Bowden of Harrodsburg; two nieces: Diane McGinnis of Salvisa, and Deborah Ball Lester and her husband, David of Florida; two great-nieces: Jennifer Sewell of Winchester and Denna Lester of Florida; two great-nephews: James Sewell of Harrodsburg and David Lester of Florida and his care giver: Violet Curtis of Danville. He was preceded in death by one brother, James P. Kimball.

He was a professional saxophonist before serving with the U. S. Army in W.W. II. He retired as an electrical engineer from Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He enjoyed classical and jazz music and recently became a Catholic.

Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2005, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Danville, with Father Linn Nguyen officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.

Visitation is 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Carmickle, Donald Cooper

December 01, 1947 - February 08, 2005

Interment: Burgin Memorial Gardens in Burgin, KY

He was the son of Alberta Cooper Sims, Lexington and the late R. T. Carmickle. Additional survivors include his step-father: Gayle Sims, Lexington; two sons: Donald Dax Carmickle and his wife, Margaret, and Derek Cooper Carmickle, both of Lexington; two brothers: Jerry Wayne Carmickle and his wife, Sue, of Georgetown and Bobby Thomas Carmickle and his wife Debi, of Columbus, Georgia; one sister: Teresa Gail Stephens, Lexington; one grandson: Dax Alexander Carmickle; several nephews and one niece.

He was self employed for 35 years doing home improvement in Lexington and surrounding areas and enjoyed horse racing. His helping and giving nature will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in the Burgin Memorial Gardens with Ronnie Hurst, Trent Stephens, Travis Stephens, Jeff Carmickle, Richard Carmickle and Randy Samples serving as pallbearers and Juett Redmon, Bert Sorrell, Roger Bernard, Mike Brown, Raymond Helenberg, and Leroy Horton serving as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

He was the son of Leslie Edward McGuire of Louisville and Joyce Sheldon of Perryville. Besides his mother and father, Thomas is survived by his maternal grandmother Anna Belle Miller of Louisville, his step-father Neal Sheldon of Perryville, two daughters and their mother: Darby Rae McGuire and Charlotte Jo McGuire and Sarah Mallori McGuire all of Harrodsburg. One brother Brandon Taylor of Harrodsburg, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was a construction worker, a tattoo artist, and he loved to draw.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Jim Springate, Tim Springate, Doug Alsman, Vernon McGuire, Jim McGuire, and Brandon Taylor serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Devine, Mabel Etta

She was the daughter of the late H.B. and Ovie Click Taylor. Survivors include: two daughters: Glenda Barrett and her husband, Judd, Harrodsburg and Barbara Cox and her husband, Herbert, Harrodsburg; one brother: William Henry Taylor, Melbourne, Florida; three sisters: Thenia Bottoms, Stanford, Pauline Walls and her husband, Ruel, Springfield and Joyce Fowler and her husband, Roland, Mayfield. Six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great grandson Thomas Leon Cox, two brothers: Sam and Willard Taylor and one sister: Myrtle Dearing.

She was a Beaumont Inn Cook and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, NASCAR and was an avid U.K. football and basketball fan.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Geoffry Barrett and John Watts officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Chasitey Kellogg, Grandsons and Grandsons-In-Laws serving as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Louisville Road, Harrodsburg, Kentucky 40330 and the Gideons International, P.O. Box 167, Harrodsburg, Kentucky 40330.

Hardin, Robert Lee

He was the son of the late Colie and Ida Chesser Hardin. Survivors include his wife of 69 years: Ruby Sims Hardin; one son: John Allen and his wife Rita Hardin of Harrodsburg, two daughters: Susie and her husband, Junior Russell, Willisburg and Judy Harmon, Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and one great-grandson.

He was a retired farmer and honey-bee keeper. He was a member of the Willisburg Baptist Church for over 50 years and a member of Cornishville Baptist Church for the last 20 years.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Readnour officiating. Burial will be in the Cornishville Baptist Church Cemetery with Reid White, Jeff Harmon, Todd Hardin, Charles Russell, Brad Robinson and Donald Litteral serving as pallbearers and great-grandsons: Justin White, Chuck Russell, Mikie Whiteneck, Eric Harmon, Casey Robinson, J.D. Jones and Junior Hardin serving as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Griffieth, Ray

He was the son of the late Abe and Mary Davis Griffieth. Mr. Griffieth is survived by his son James Ray and his wife Teresa Griffieth of Harrodsburg and one daughter Marquita and her husband Rick Helton of Harrodsburg. Two brothers: Edward Griffieth of Harrodsburg and Roy Griffieth of Stanford. Two sisters: Betty McGinnis of Harrodsburg and Jewell Buchanan of Middletown, Ohio. Four grandsons: Ricky Helton, Carl Brent Helton, Travis Scott Helton, and Jonathon Griffieth. Two granddaughters: Jamie Griffieth and Jennifer Griffieth. Two great-grandsons: Bailey and Denim Griffieth. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers: James and John Griffieth and two sisters: Elizabeth Johnson and Margaret Peavler.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. David Collier officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Gary Griffieth, James Routin, Jerry Houck, John Mink, Condit R. Mink, and Oscar Moberly, Jr. serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Perry McGinnis, Jr., Ricky Helton, Carl Brent Helton, Travis Helton, and Jonathon Griffieth.

He was a self-employed carpenter and a United States Navy Veteran having served in the Korean War. He enjoyed attending High School Sports and gardening.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

He was the husband Alma Marie Kirkpatrick Luster. The son of the late William Edward and Rosa Lee Hatter Luster. Additional survivors include two daughters Dona J. Proctor of Harrodsburg. Debra Gregston of Sikeston, Mo., one brother Willie Luster of Cincinnati, Ohio. Two grand-children Christopher Gregston and Anne Gregston Nichols. One great grandchild Hannah Marie Proctor. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by one grandson Clifton Lee Allen Proctor.

He served with the U. S. Army during W.W. II, having earned the Victory Medal.

A retired PBX Switch Board Repairman for General Telephone. A member and former trustee of Hopewell Baptist Church he was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed gardening, lawn care and helping friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Easterling officiating. Interment with military Honors will be in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Robert and Molly Coslow Carrier. Survivors include: two sisters: Letttie Smith and Mary Roberts, both of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren: Sherri Lancaster, Kim Smith, and Jason Smith, all of Harrodsburg; three great grandchildren: Lee Lancaster, Cheryl West, and Joshua Lancaster; one great-great-grandchild: Breanna West and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law: Leon and Shirley Smith; six brothers: Marvin Carrier, Russell Carrier, Garnett Carrier, Raymond Carrier, Elwood Carrier and John Will Carrier and one sister: Geneva Phillips.

She was a homemaker, a member of Benton Baptist Church and enjoyed making quilts.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Buddy Shirley, Danny Phillips, Connie Phillips, Mike Carrier, Joe Carrier, and Steve Carrier serving as pallbearers.

He was the son of the late Bobby Eugene Baker and Alice Juanita Pittman Baker of Harrodsburg. Additional survivors besides his mother include: one son: Joey Lee Baker, Jr., Harrodsburg; one daughter: Shannon DeShon, and her husband Joseph, Harrodsburg; two brothers: Jeffrey A. Baker, Fort Supply, Oklahoma and Robbie Eugene Baker, Burgin; two sisters: Debbie Fairchild, Harrodsburg, and his twin sister: Janice Louise Sims and her husband, Henry, Harrodsburg and five grandchildren.

He was a self employed construction worker and loved to fish, hunt and draw.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Derek Baker officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Curtis Griffin, David Cheak, Jimmy Rainey, Larry Syler, Karry Sekco, Bill Byrd, Hunter Baker and Joseph DeShon serving as pallbearers and Bob White serving as an honorary pallbearer.

Donna Marie VanArsdall, 89, widow of Riker VanArsdall, died Sunday March 13, 2005 at the Pimlico Manor Nursing Home in Lexington. Born February 29, 1916 in Baker, Oregon, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma Southworth Bagley. She was a retail clerk for many years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include three daughters: Marie Fletcher of Nauvoo, IL., Linda Fine of Amarillo, Tx., and Nancy Ormson also of Amarillo, Tx.. One son Richard Pearce of Fairfax, VA.. One brother Clifford Bagley of California and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. VanArsdall was preceded in death by her first husband Linford Lee Roy Pearce. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Velma, Lucille, Elwin Bagley, Fern (Barney) Bagley and Verl Bagley.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. To 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
