Harriet Faye McFerron, 51, wife of Charles McFerron, Sr., Bohon Road in Harrodsburg died Friday, April 13, 2007 at her residence. Born June 8, 1955 in Liberty, she was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, a Licensed Practical Nurse at Franklin Manor Nursing Home in Frankfort, and most recently a custodian at Mercer County High School. Faye enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing bingo, and most of all, spoiling her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Faye is survived by her mother Christine Sanders of Harrodsburg, her two sons: Charles L. (Jan) McFerron, Jr. and William A. (Rose) McFerron both of Mercer County, and two daughters: Nancy A. Livers (Amos Jenkins, Jr.) of Washington County, and Tina M. Coffman (Bueford Watts) of Harrodsburg. Four sisters: Alice (William) Sallee of Burgin, Joyce (Onise) Alsman of Perryville, her twin sister Kaye Sanders of Harrodsburg, and Judy (Carthol) King of Harrodsburg. Four brothers: Thomas (Judy) Sanders, Jr., of Harrodsburg, William “Billy” (Carrol Ann) Sanders of Harrodsburg, Jimmy (Pattie) Sanders of McAfee, and John Sanders of Harrodsburg. Fifteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and her father Thomas Sanders, Sr. of Sacramento, CA. also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2007 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens with Tojo Sallee, Timmy Taylor, Billy Votaw, Doug Alsman, Calvin King, Ronnie Pulliam, and Jay Miller serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Stuart Sanders, Wayne Taylor, Nick Alsman, Donnie Pulliam, Scott Osborne, and Shawn Osborne.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. Monday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Lt. Stanley Bruce Cole, 41, husband of Robin Young Cole, Stanford, died Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. Born August 6, 1965 in Mercer County he was the son of Eunice Pennington Cole of Harrodsburg and the late Lawrence Cole. He was a 1983 Harrodsburg High School Graduate, a 1988 Graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Corrections Degree and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and a 2006 Graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he received his Associate of Science in Nursing Degree. He was a former employee of the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Lexington for eleven years and was currently a Lexington-Fayette County Urban Government Fire Fighter for nine years and as a Fort Logan Hospital Registered Nurse. Stanley enjoyed Tennessee Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers and traveling. Additional survivors besides his wife and mother include his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Young of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Charles (Cecilia) Cole of Salvisa and Ronnie (Jackie) Cole of Mercer County; four sisters, Joyce (Paul) Hill of Junction City, Janet (Ronnie) Woodward of Harrodsburg, Debbie (Wayne) Perrin of Burgin and Della (Tony) Peavler of Horse Cave, Ky; one brother-in-law: Dustin (Cristen) Young of Harrodsburg, one sister-in-law, Jodi (Jamie) Sewell of Harrodsburg and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Cathy Long. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007 with Brad King & Stewart Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Captain Jimmy Bennett, Harlan White, III, Major Tommy Blythe, Captain Kevin Williams, William Taylor, Bobby Burton, Johnny Cullebs, and Ricky Harris serving as pallbearers and fellow firefighters serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Willow Grove Baptist Church, 4306 Stanford Road, Danville, Kentucky 40422.

O’Neal Long 79, husband of the late Ann Catherine Jenkins Long of Harrodsburg, died Friday April 6, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Garrard County to the late Ott & Eula Prewitt Long. Retired after 44 years at The Shawnee Farm where he worked with broodmares. His hobbies included watching old westerns and rides through the country.

Survivors include: one son Jerry L. Long Harrodsburg, two daughters Linda C. Watts and Judy Butler both of Harrodsburg. One brother Bobby (Jean) Long of Harrodsburg, three sisters Edna Sutton Lancaster, Francis Hayden Harrodsburg and Dora Wells Lexington. Five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren survive .

One son Jackie Long, two brothers Cecil, Leo Long and two sisters Ruth Suber and Reva Hall preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday April 10, 2007 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Bro. John Watts and Chaplain Gary Story. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 7:00 A.M. Tuesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Miss Orpha Wells, 92, of South College Street, Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born December 9, 1914 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Wade H. and Verna Edith Moore Wells. She had worked at Newberry’s and Thrifty’s in Harrodsburg and was a member of the Harrodsburg Church of Christ.

Survivors include her sister-in-law Frances Wells of Harrodsburg, one nephew Ronnie Wells of Mayo and two nieces Sue Satterly of Mercer County and Rita Isaac of Harrodsburg. Several great nephews and nieces also survive.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with officiating Michael Estes officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Willisburg.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Oscar William Robert Lewis 32, husband of Terri Lewis of Springfield, Ohio died Sunday April 1, 2007 in Springfield. He was born April 15, 1974 in Harrodsburg to Paul H. (Pee Wee) Lewis of Harrodsburg and Glenda Vaughn Hanefeld of Springfield, Ohio. A general laborer and a Baptist, he enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Besides his wife and parents, survivors include his step-mother Dorothy Lewis of Harrodsburg, step-father Larry Hanefeld of Ohio. Brothers: Paul Lewis, Jr. and Thomas Lewis both of Springfield, OH., half-brothers Lonnie Grayson of Newport News, VA., and Ray Grayson of Columbus, OH., step-brothers: Ricky Edwards of Harrodsburg, Donald Edwards of Lawrenceburg, Danny Edwards of Harrodsburg, Jeff Lewis of Harrodsburg, and Sam Watson of Danville. Half sister Rita Grayson of Springfield, OH., step-sisters: Debbie White of Harrodsburg, Carolyn Barr of Washington County, and Donna Watson of Lexington. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2007 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary L. McCristal 91, widow of Arthur David McCristal, died Monday July 9, 2007 at her residence in Harrodsburg. She was born June 16, 1916 in Mercer County to the late William Garrett Jennings and Bessie Mae Coker Jennings Royalty. Mrs. McCristal was a former employee of Cricketeer and a nursing assistant for 26 years. She was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include her grandchildren: Marty Pulliam of Stanford, KY, Woody Pulliam of Buffalo, KY, Barbara Buckner of Louisville, KY and Janice Booth of Harrodsburg, a daughter-in-law Dorothy Pulliam of Harrodsburg. Eleven great grandchildren, one half brother Bud Royalty of Bohon, KY, three half sisters: Verna Yuknawicz of Dayton, Ohio, Irene Rowe of Louisville, and Rosetta Huffman of Cornishville also survive.

Two sons Henry Marshall Pulliam, III and John Lee Pulliam, Sr., two daughters Shirley Louise Pulliam and Anna Jean Jackson, daughter-in-law Louise Million Pulliam, a grandson John Lee Pulliam, Jr. and a great grand child preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday July 11, 2007 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg with Garl Booth, George Buckner, Mike Huffman, Marvin Robinson, Ernest Mobley, and Garnett Mobley serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 7:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Mr. Elmer Wilson Clark, Jr., 83, husband of Helen Releford Clark, Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, July 03, 2007 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor. Born January 21, 1924 in Fayette County he was the son of the late Elmer Wilson and Sarah Bell Frederick Clark, Sr. He was a United States Army Veteran and a retired employee of Rand McNally where he was the first employee and an Inventory Control Manager. He was a member of the Ashland Avenue Baptist Church in Lexington. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing and was an avid UK fan. He had also played semi professional football during his college years. Additional survivors besides his wife include: two sons: Alan Dale (Pat) Clark, Fayettesville, North Carolina and Jeff (Sandy) Clark, Lexington; one step-son: Richard (Sharon) Jones, Burgin; one daughter: Kellie (Robert) Tatum, Harrodsburg and one step daughter: Teresa (Rick) Blaisdell, Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley and Bro. Harold Best officiating. Burial with military Honors will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Jeff Clark, Trevor Blevins, Dusty Baker, Brett Jones, Robert Tatum, and Rick Blaisdell serving as pallbearers. She was a former employee of Kerr Manufacturing of Bowling Green, and she enjoyed her children and collecting bears. Additional survivors besides her mother include: two daughters Brittanie Cottrell and Heather Lynn Cottrell of Harrodsburg; three brothers: Billy Wayne Peerce (Barbara) of West Virginia, James Carman Peerce (Leigh) and Gary Wayne Peerce (Karen) both of Bowling Green, and several cousins, aunts and uncles. One son: Jonathan Chase Cottrell preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday July 6, 2007 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Mobley of Harrodsburg; one sister, Florence Measel, Harrodsburg, two sisters-in-laws: Elsa Perkins and Frances Mobley, both of Harrodsburg; seven additional nephews and four nieces and her caregiver, Shirley McGuire of Louisville. She was preceded in death by five sisters: Vivian Mobley Goodlett, Mandy Mobley Votaw, Mildred Mobley, Mattie Mobley and her baby sister and two brothers: Ruel and Juel Mobley.

Mr. Donnie Hyatt Noel, 66, of Mackville, husband of Brenda Yankey Noel, died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born June 8, 1940 in Washington County, he was the son of Ruby Tingle Noel of Springfield and the late William H. Noel. He was a retired farmer and State Government Employee. He was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church where he was also a Trustee, an owner and breeder of American Saddle bred Horses, served as former Mayor of Mackville, and was an avid U.K. Fan.

Besides his wife and mother, Donnie is survived by his son Bradley Dee (Theresa) Noel of Harrodsburg and two daughters: Donya (Pat) Smith of Richmond and Lani (Johnny) Callebs of Lexington. One sister Janice (Kenny) Lamb of Harrodsburg, grandchildren: Jonathan and Bryan Noel, Isaac and Caroline Smith, and Will and Anne Callebs.

A special uncle Ike Noel preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the New Harmony Baptist Church, in Mackville with Bro. Barry Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Peters Cemetery, Mackville, with Jonathan Noel, Bryan Noel, Isaac Smith, Will Callebs, Stevie Tingle, Kevin Devine, Matthew McCloud, and Carlton Shewmaker serving as active pallbearers. Ronnie Noel, Jack Noel, Kevin Isham, and the Men of New Harmony Baptist Church will be serving as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 12:00 noon Sunday at the New Harmony Baptist Church in Mackville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to New Harmony Baptist Church and/or The Mackville Community Development Center.

Sean Claunch, 23, husband of Julianna White Claunch, died Monday, November 12, 2007 in Harrodsburg. Born October 11, 1984 in Fayette County, he was the son of Jackie Claunch of Winchester and Ginger Trisler Bussell of Harrodsburg. He was recently discharged from the United States Marines after having served three, six month tours in Iraq. He was interested in auto mechanics, had attended Craven Community College and had plans to finish his Tool and Die degree at Bluegrass Technical College in the Spring. Additional survivors besides his wife and parents include: step-mother: Charlene Claunch of Winchester; step-father: Randy Bussell of Harrodsburg; maternal grandparents: James and Janie Trisler of Harrodsburg; mother-in-law: Anne Ballard of Harrodsburg; father-in-law: Jack L. White, Jr. of Knoxville; three brothers: Beau, Lucas and Ethan Claunch all of Harrodsburg; step-brother: Joe Bussell of Somerset; two step-sisters: Tracie Richardson of Portsmouth, Virginia and Charlotte Cox of Campton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Albert “Tink” and Della Claunch.

Born January 26, 1936 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Strother N. and Gertrude Maddox Watts. She had been an employee of Central Supply and was a member of Magnolia Street Christian Church. She was a 1954 graduate of McAfee High School and enjoyed television and her family. Survivors include: two sons: Keith Watts of Lexington and Lawrence Watts, Jr. of Harrodsburg; one daughter: Janet Watts of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren: Jason Keith Watts, Sarah Nichole Watts, Marshal Steven Watts, Tori Elizabeth Watts, and Daniel Brent Watts; one great-grandson: Ian Joseph Watts and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm. Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery with Mark, Gary, Jason, Brent and Carl Thomas Watts and Tommy Estes serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Edward Lee Henninger, 76, of Harrodsburg, died Thursday November 8, 2007 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born February 22, 1931 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late William Henninger and Ruth Dean Hardin. He was a retired security guard for Moore Security Company and served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing. Survivors include four sons: Larry (Jeanie) Henninger, Tommy (Terry) Henninger, Shaun Henninger and Chad (Sandra) Henninger all of Harrodsburg; four daughters: Linda Rutherford of Harrodsburg, Marilyn (Matt) Spaulding of Stanford, Rose Marie (Robert) Lyons and Betty (Tim) Sanders of Harrodsburg; one brother: Raymond (Lillie) Henninger of Danville; a life companion: Jewell Huffman Henninger of Harrodsburg; two step-sons: Don and Ronnie Huffman of Harrodsburg; seventeen grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
