Eugenia Carol Rogers, 54, died January 1, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born June 4, 1954 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Yocum and Bessie Lunsford Sires. She was a member of Braxton Baptist Mission Church, was an Automount Operator for Osram Sylvania, enjoyed country music and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters: Lisa Riddle of Frankfort and Dena Cornish of Lawrenceburg. Three sons: Lonnie Cornish, Jr. of Harrodsburg, Leslie Rogers of Harrodsburg, and John Rogers of Harrodsburg. Two brothers: Charles J. Yocum of Rochester, IN., and Sidney Yocum of Harrodsburg. Five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Nancy Louise Yocum and Betsy Logue.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Ebenezer Church of Christ Cemetery with Bro. James Harley officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. There will be no visitation on Monday.

David Lee Stinnett, 63, husband of Vurna Bryant Stinnett went to be with the Lord January 1, 2009 in Greenville, OH. Born June 15, 1945 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late James Corbett and Mattie Upton Stinnett. He was a former custodian at Centenary United Methodist Church in Lexington and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Lawrenceburg. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, David is survived by three daughters: Teresa (John) Brandon of Harrodsburg, Dana (Steve) Bowman of Lawrenceburg, and Angela (Scottie) Gibson of Harrodsburg. Three brothers: Larry (Donna) Stinnett of Harrodsburg, Bobby Stinnett of Tennessee, and James (Nettie) Stinnett of Harrodsburg. Two sisters: Frances (Earl) Major of Lancaster and Becky (Andy) Smith of Harrodsburg. Six grandchildren: Tiffany and Bethany Brandon of Harrodsburg; Stephen and Danielle Bowman of Lawrenceburg, and Tyler Kiper and Lauren Gibson of Harrodsburg. One great grandson Nehemiah Brandon. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by one brother William T. Stinnett and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Seidenfaden officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Stephen Bowman, Danielle Bowman, Bethany Brandon, Richard Stinnett, Timothy Stinnett, Stevie Stinnett, Rusty Stinnett, James Stinnett, Jr., and David Wayne Stinnett serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Kiper, Lauren Gibson, Tiffany Brandon, and Nehemiah Brandon.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Beulah Fay Strunk Brim, 65, widow of Ernest Delbert Brim, died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born August 18, 1943 in McCreary County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Lora Bryant Strunk. Beulah was a homemaker, and a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church and she loved being with family and friends.

Beulah is survived by one son; Johnny Brim of Harrodsburg; one daughter; Brenda (Ernie) Brim of Stanford, one sister; Evelyn (Elmer) Troxell and one brother: George (Elurlie) Strunk and three grandchildren; Jason, Sarah and Zachary, and one great grandchild; Ian Watts.

She was preceded in death by a son Jimmy Brim, two sisters; Flora Lawson and Paullie Roysdan and one brother Paul Strunk.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home, with Bro. Ralph Neal officiating . Burial will be in the Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery with Donnie Perry, Allen Troxell, Ernie Hale, Jason Watts, William Lee (Shorty) Darland, Elmer Troxell, James Lindsey and Ben Lindsey serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am. till time of service, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Vivian J. Litteral, 100, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at her residence. Born November 2, 1908 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Louisa Katherine Pinkston Litteral. She was a retired Nursing Assistant at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital, and was a member of the Mt. Freedom Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters: Geneva B. Litteral and Beatrice L. Hourigan both of Harrodsburg. One niece Hilda Mae Pike of Lexington and one nephew Donald Litteral of Cornishville. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Jamie Chesser officiating. Burial will be in Grapevine Christian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

James Joseph Motley, 76, husband of Cora Sue Kurtz Motley, died Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born August 26, 1932 in Fayette County he was the son of the late Tevis and Marie Bradburn Motley. He was a member of Shakertown Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. He was a retired Kentucky Utilities employee and farmer. He enjoyed antique tractors and spending time with his grandchildren.

Additional survivors besides his wife include: One son: James Alan (Denise) Motley of Harrodsburg and one daughter: Amy (Kevin) Preston of Garrard County; one brother: Gene (Betty) Motley of Harrodsburg; four sisters: Doris (Ed) Harris and Phyllis (Billy) Kidd, both of Bardstown, Shirley (Jess) Cosby of Georgetown and Judy (Fred) Hawkins of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren: Clay (Crystal) Cocanougher of Harrodsburg, Meagan (James) Faircloth of Butner, North Carolina and Dakota and Colton Motley of Harrodsburg; one great-grandchild: Georgia Mae Faircloth; four step-great grandchildren: Daniel and Chelsea Lewis, Eric Gilbert and Evan Cocanougher and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Motley and one step-great-grandchild: Christopher Lewis.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Shakertown Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Smith and Bro. Lester Tirey officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery with Clay Cocanougher, Evan Cocanougher, Donnie Cocanougher, Monte Kelly, Jackie Hammons, Kenny Carey, Colton Motley and James Faircloth serving as pallbearers and James Stinnett, Jim Stinnett, Tim Stinnett, Donnie Webb, Scotty Anderson, Tom Sellers, Donald Cocanougher, Thomas Reed, Tony Church, Roy Beasley, Billy Kidd, Jess Cosby, Ed Harris, Fred Hawkins, Dud Yocum and Ryan Preston serving as honorary pallbearers.

Mabel Taylor, 89, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born November 4, 1919 in Liberty, she was the daughter of the late Beatty and Flossie Grant Phillips. She was a retired cook from Burgin School after Thirty Years. She was a member of the Burgin Methodist Church, an avid U.K. Fan, and enjoyed dancing and gardening. She was the widow of Elmer Derringer and Sam Taylor.

Survivors include one son Donald Derringer of Danville, four daughters: Betty (Charles) Gregory of Harrodsburg, Maxine (Edward) Rigney of Memphis, TN., Darlene (Ernie) Carmichael of Beattyville, and Imozene (Tom) Major of Maysville. Twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by one son Dean Derringer; five brothers: Ruby, Carl, Cecil, Mervin, and Calvin Phillips; and four sisters: Ruth Rutherford, Sylvia Caudill, Lena Phillips, and Lucille Wethington.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cold Spring Cemetery in Casey County with Dustin Derringer, Mike Gregory, Daniel Derringer, Mark Major, Jerry Peel, Eric Derringer, and James Merriott serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Cornelius, Daniel G.

Daniel G. Cornelius, 96, a lifelong resident of Mercer County, born Sept. 14, 1912 and passed away peacefully December 7, 2008. He was the son of the late Richard and Verner Scrogham Cornelius. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 73 years Myrtle Parsons Cornelius, one daughter, Danna (Ronal) Sharp and one grandson, Daniel Marshall Sanders, two sisters, June Grivetti and Lyda Todd, two brothers, Richard and Jack Cornelius, two half-sisters, Evelyn Ellis and Julia Spears, four half-brothers, Jim, Robert, Fred and Howard Cornelius.

He is survived by two daughters, Joyce (Cleo) Sanders, Harrodsburg and Janice (Dick) Johnson, Louisville, one granddaughter, Amy E. Davis, Liberty and two grandsons, James H. (Leslie) Withrow and Daniel C. (Mindy) Withrow, both of Louisville, four great grandchildren, Hallie Grace, Ella Brooke, Christian H and Nicholas A. Withrow, first cousins Garland and Lonnie Scrogham, Elsie Wells and Alpha Kemp and several nieces and nephews. He was in the first graduating class from Harrodsburg High School.

He was a business man and was owner of Dan Cornelius' Used Cars for many years. After retirement, he was Supt. of Old Fort Harrod State Park. He was a Mercer County Magistrate in the 5th District for several years and enjoyed working in the Legislature in Frankfort. He was a member of the Mercer County Democrats and served on various boards in the Community and enjoyed working with people, especially the Mercer County Senior Citizens. He was a volunteer fireman for the Harrodsburg Fire Department. He was a lifetime member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, a Kentucky Colonel, past Master Mason of the Mercer Lodge #777 F and AM, and was a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star #307. He was a past member of the Scottish Rite, Shriners and the Harrodsburg Lions Club.

Memorial are suggested to the Harrodsburg Christian Church, 305 S. Main St. Harrodsburg, Kentucky 40330 and the Mercer County Senior Citizens, 1475 Louisville Road, Harrodsburg, Kentucky 40330.

The family will receive friends 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Thompson, Rev. Phil Williams and Terry Morrisson officiating. A Masonic Rites service will begin at 12 Noon. Members of the Harrodsburg Christian Church Willing Workers Sunday School Class, Cleo Sanders, Richard Johnson, Dan Withrow, Jimmy Withrow and Jeff Shoopman will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Connie Chumley, 82, husband of Ann Chumley, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at his residence in Cornishville. Born October 9, 1926 in Washington County he was the son of the late Roy and Artie Catlett Chumley. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a retired Signet & Clark Security employee and a lifetime farmer. He was a member of Cornishville Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, Church Clerk, Training Union Director and Sunday School Superintendent.

Additional survivors besides his wife include his son, David (Carol) Chumley of Harrodsburg; one sister: Mary Cornish (Albert) Elliott of Harrodsburg, three grandchildren: Carmen (Eddie) Sallee of Bowling Green, Carolee (Casey) Taylor of Yulee, Florida and Cara (Michael John) Johnson of Harrodsburg and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mark King and Bro. Brian Burkhead officiating. Burial with military Rites will be in Cornishville Baptist Church Cemetery with David White, Glenn Devine, Eddie Russell, LaRue Huffman, Don Stiglich, Billy Grider, Bobby Catlett and Donald Litteral serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Lindsey Wayne Hill, 71, husband of Treva Hill, died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born September 4, 1937 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Marvin and Tolla Bell Ritter Hill. Wayne was a truck driver for the Lamb Trucking Co. and owner and driver of Hill Bus Lines. He was a member of the Benton Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and the Director of Discipleship Training. He enjoyed hunting and fishing

Survivors in addition to his wife include one son: John Chad (Beth) Hill, Irvine KY, one half-sister: Mary Ellen McDonald, Washington, N.C. and several nieces and nephews

Wayne is preceded in death by one brother: Billy Joe Hill

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Mike Abrams, Mitch Abrams, Eddie Browning, Bill Hill, Danny Goodpaster, Scott Patton, Bryan Nevius and Tharen Stephens serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2008 and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Johnny Monroe, 46, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born April 9, 1962 in Indianapolis he was the son of the late James C. Monroe and the late Catherin Lowry Carroll. He had served in the Kentucky National Guard, was a former detail person for Man-O-War Ford in Lexington and enjoyed reading and NASCAR.

Survivors include one step-son: Michael Lynn Devine of Harrodsburg; three step-daughters: Shelly Kay Devine and Elizabeth Jean Devine, both of Harrodsburg and Kelly Joe (Dusty) Shackelford of Stanford; two brothers: Barry Estes of Indianapolis and James Monroe of Lexington; one sister: Judy McGlothlin of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Egbert Mornoe and sister, Shelia Prather.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Hilary Claypool officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Church of Christ Cemetery with Brian Preston, Jason Estes, Randy Crawford, Gary Lowry, Tim Lowry and David Gibson serving as pallbearers.
