Ganon William Goins, infant son of Brittany Walker and Dennis Goins died Monday, November 9, 2009 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

Survivors in addition to his parents are his maternal grandparents William and Genise Walker and his paternal grandparents Randall and Kim Goins.

A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Spring Hill Cemetery with Scott Bugg officiating.

Mrs. Lillis B. Phillips, 90, of Harrodsburg, widow of Harrison Phillips, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born February 23, 1919 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Troyer and Mary Emma Foster Corn. She was a member of the Carpenter’s Christian Church, enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters: Glenda (Bruce) Noel of Harrodsburg and Marilyn (Hobert) Cheatham also of Harrodsburg. One sister-in-law Alice Kabler of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren: Darrel Noel, Ginger Schlenther, Dana Warren, Tanya Hensley, and Kelby Cheatham. Nine great grandchildren: Aaron Schlenther, Jake Schlenther, Katie Schlenther, Caleb Warren, Cameron Warren, Case Noel, Lindsey Shepherd, Nathan Hensley, and Grace Jane Cheatham.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Greg Warren officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Danny Holliday, Ralph Phillips, III, Donnie Corn, David Waldridge, Darrel Noel, and Kenny Hensley serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Frances Long Hayden, 84, of Harrodsburg died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born April 5, 1925 in Garrard County, Frances was the daughter of the late Ott and Eula Prewitt Long. She was an employee of the Harrods Cleaners for sixteen years and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church

Frances is survived by four sons: Steve (Diane) Hayden, Marshall Hayden, Billy Hayden all of Harrodsburg and Kenny (Jean) Hayden of Ohio, one daughter: Diane (Gale) Savage of Harrodsburg, one brother: Bobby (Shelby Jean) Long of Harrodsburg and one sister: Dora Wells of Lexington, seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by one son: Michael Hayden, three brothers: Leo, O’Neal and Cecil Long, three sisters: Reba Hall, Ruth Surer and Edna Sutton.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with John David Lane officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Bobby Allen Long, Rickey Long, David Long, Travis Helton, Keith Claunch and Charles Hayden serving as pallbearers. Mike Hayden will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7 A.M Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home

Mrs. Loraine Springate, 81, widow of Condit Springate, died Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born April 2, 1928 in Kenton County, she was the daughter of the late Eunice and Maudolene Wilson Black. She retired after twenty eight years from Corning Glass in Harrodsburg, was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters Connie Gayle (Darrell) Chapman of Lexington and Dianne Lynn Peavler of Harrodsburg. One brother Burnice (Altha) Black of Winchester, one sister Wanda Stumph of Tennessee, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters Carolyn Harmon and Charlotte Helen Black.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Matthew Riley officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Todd Ransdell, Darrell Chapman, Keith Robinson, Dave Reister, Brett Cheek, Bobby Riley, and Kenny Dean serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Adult Senior Women Sunday School Class at Hopewell Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. Monday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Mrs. Marie Goodlett, 85, widow of Clarence Goodlett, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born July 12, 1924 in Monticello, KY., she was a former baby sitter, a Baptist, and enjoyed sewing and cooking.

Survivors include one son Clarence (Louise) Goodlett, Jr., of Harrodsburg, one brother James (Ruby) Carroll of Burgin, six grandchildren: Kim Pike, Dina Lester, James Hurst, II, Christy Wohner, Melissa Hartman, and Stevie Goodlett. Eleven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by one daughter Sarah Margaret Hurst, three infant sons and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Mike Conover officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Kelly Lester, Billy Pike, Dr. Dennis Hise, David Hise, Stevie Goodlett, and James Hurst, II serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Goodlett’s great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Freddie Eugene Warner, 57, husband of Teresa Jones Warner died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born April 10, 1952 in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Eugene Holloway Warner and Ella Smith Warner. He was a retired mechanic and had been a carpenter, employee of IGA and a farmer.

Survivors include two sons: Matt Warner of Harrodsburg and Chris Johns and his wife Becki of Nicholasville, three daughters: Genia Dean and her husband Tyrone of Harrodsburg, Tammy West of Frankfort and Sandy Kiser and her husband Teddy of Lawrenceburg, one stepdaughter: Shana Jones of Olympia, Washington, one brother: Rick Warner and his wife Carol of Frankfort, one sister: Maxann Bingham and her husband Jim of Frankfort and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother Sam Kelly and sister Millie Meadows.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home Jeff Eaton and Bro. Randy Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Jerry Byrd, Allen Lewis, Jim Baker, Winfield Williams, Dan Stacy and Cody Meadows serving as pallbearers and James Williams, Willie Warner and James Douglas Price serving as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Margaret Helen Collier, 89, widow of Belve Collier, died Saturday, October 24. 2009 at her residence. Born January 4, 1920 in Cornishville, she was the daughter of the late Charles Elwood and Elizabeth Yeast Peavler. She was retired from Cricketeer after twenty four years, a member of the Cornishville Baptist Church where she served as a Bible School Helper, and had been a cook at the Cornishville School Cafeteria. She enjoyed flowers, quilting, cooking, and canning.

Survivors include her daughter Beuna Gayle Grigsby of Harrodsburg, two sons: Byron Elwood Collier and Belve Lynn (Stephanie) Collier all of Harrodsburg. One niece, Bonnie Lester of Harrodsburg and one nephew Andrew Peavler of Florida. Eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons Marvin Lee and Maurice Evans Collier, seven brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mark King officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Jackson, Clyde Lanning

Clyde Lanning Jackson, 69, passed away October 22, 2009 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born August 4, 1940 in Ashland, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Clyde and Mabel Caudill Jackson and the brother of the late Mike Jackson. Clyde earned his Bachelor and Master Degrees from the University of Kentucky. Clyde is survived by his wife Linda Webster Jackson, his brother Tim (Paula) Jackson of Louisville. He is also survived by his nephew Paul (Leslie), his niece Kristin (Trevor) and his niece Shannon (Rickie). He is also survived by seven grand nieces and nephews: Claire, Caroline, CarleeAnn, Turner, Chase, and Savanah Kate. Other survivors include step-children Kevin (Molly) Knox, Bryan (Jenny) Knox, Tim (Shannon) Knox, and seven grandchildren Ben, Hannah, Jacob, Sarah, Emma, Henry, and Kayla Knox.

Clyde was a retired school teacher and principal from Fayette County. His passion was music and he was an excellent piano player. His music provided great pleasure and joy to many people.

Clyde was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church Disciples of Christ, the Lexington Musicians Union, past president of the Harrodsburg Lions Club and a recipient of the Lion of the Year Award. He also served on the Senior Citizens Board, several committees of the Ragged Edge Theatre and volunteer at Christ’s Closet for several years.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Harrodsburg Christian Church with Rev. Mark Thompson and Rev. Phil Williams officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Bryan Knox, Kevin Knox, Tim Knox, Jacob Knox, Paul Jackson, Trevor Lindemier, and Ritchie Lampton serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held after 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Harrodsburg Christian Church. The family is greatly thankful to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers for their loving care of Clyde. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Cancer Society, 1504 College Way, Lexington, KY 40502 and/or the GBS/CIDP Foundation, 104 ½ Forrest Ave., Narbert, PA. 19072.

Robinson, Charley S.

December 29, 1918 - October 18, 2009

Charley Sweeney Robinson, born December 29, 1918 in Washington County. Charley was the son of the late Fred and Cordelia Releford Robinson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Viola Taylor Robinson. Survivors include two children; Gene (Jan) Robinson of Burgin and Alene (Jonas) Barnes of Danville. Six grandchildren, Brad Robinson of Burgin, Brian Robinson of Abilene TX, Joe Barnes of Virginia Beach, VA, Traci Easton of Murfreesboro, TN, Marina Beckley of Nicholasville, KY and Jackie Riley also of Burgin, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two nieces and his friend Margie Noel.

Before retirement Mr. Robinson had been a well-known contractor in the surrounding area as well as a framer. He was an active member of the Burgin Baptist Church and had also been a deacon and a trustee in the Shawnee Run Baptist Church for many years.

Mr. Robinson was probably best known for his motorcycle riding ability. His last spin on his bike was on his 90th birthday. Mr. Robinson was also a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in World War II.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday October 21, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home, with Carl McRay officiating. Burial will be in the Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery with Donnie Webb, Harold Moore, Ralph McKitric, Mark Noel, Roy Lee Sanders, Brad Robinson, Joe Barnes and Bryan Robinson serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 and after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the Gideon Bible Ministries, P.O. Box 176, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.

Rudolph “Jake” Baker, 60, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his residence. Born February 25, 1949 in Washington County he was the son of the late Chester and Elizabeth Odor Baker. He was an industrial chimney worker for High & Low Chimney Company and was a musician, avid fisherman and race car fan.

Survivors include: three sons: Ricky Baker and his wife, Rhonda of Burgin, Jeff Baker and his wife, Angela of Harrodsburg and Brad Baker of Harrodsburg; one daughter: Cynthia Lawson and her husband, Charlie of Harrodsburg; four brothers: Bruce Baker and his wife Patty of Burgin; Connie Baker, Gary Baker and Mike Baker all of Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Tammy Lyons of Harrodsburg. He was preceded in death by his wives: Marsha Lister Baker and Leshia Lister Baker.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Hilary Claypool and Bro. Edward Turpin officiating. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery with Dustin Griffieth, Jeremy Hicks, Dereck Whitis, Taylor Lunsford, Junior Whitis and Charlie Lawson serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 7:00 a.m. Saturday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
