Shane Austin Ash, three month old son of Victoria Everman and Joseph Ash of Harrodsburg died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the University Of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

Shane was born December 3, 2009 in Lexington.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his maternal grandparents: Kathleen Luttrell of Versailles and John Everman of Lexington, paternal grandparents: Tammy Sigman and Doyle Brown both of Crestwood, KY, maternal great grandparents: Charles and Evelyn Matherly of Danville, paternal great grandparents: Keith and Mary Sigman of Shelbyville, IN, paternal great-great grandmother: Carrie Brown, maternal great-great grandparents: Wayne and Mary Everman and a great-great-great grandmother: Wandis Everman and special friend: Johnny Burks of Harrodsburg.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Cox officiating.

Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.

Rawlings, Alvin Thomas "Tommy"

Alvin Thomas “Tommy” Rawlings, 50, of Lebanon died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville.

Born January 17, 1960 in Bradfordsville Kentucky, he was the son of the late Robert and Lillian Aileen Spurling Rawlings.

Tommy worked construction and was a member of the Manna Harvest Church.

He enjoyed gardening, reading his Bible, sculpting with metal and spending time with his nephews.

Tommy is survived by one daughter: Jessica Rawlings of Ohio, two brothers: Bob Rawlings of Nicholasville and Rodney Rawlings of Harrodsburg, seven sisters: Shirley Preston of Harrodsburg, Linda Rogers of Parksville, Martha Shook of Denver, Co., Marie Mattingly, Edith Huntsberger, Bonnie Rawlings all of Lebanon and Anita Mattingly-Scaggs of Bradfordsville, one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents Tommy was preceded in death by two brothers: John and David Rawlings and one sister Ruth Williams

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Lanham officiating.

Burial will be in the Elder Cemetery in Casey County with Robert Childers, Roger Dale Rawlings, Patrick Gribbins, Daniel Rogers serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1 P.M. on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home

Carol Lee Proctor Craig, 65, wife of Chester Craig, Sr., of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born December 31, 1944 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Westley Sheldon and Jean Bordeaux Proctor.

She was a retired Secretary to the Principal at Madison County Vocational School and had been a Budget Clerk at National Institute for Health.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and enjoyed oil painting, knitting, and china painting at the Senior Citizens Center in Lexington.

Besides her husband, Carol is survived by one son Thomas C. Howell of Lexington, one daughter Wendy Howell Walker of Columbia, Maryland.

One step daughter Tesa Craig of Harrodsburg, one step-son Chester Craig, Jr., of Harrodsburg, five grandchildren, four step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Barbara Proctor and Sonya Hartman.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. John David Lane officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Pennington, Linda

September 26, 1942 - February 24, 2010

Linda Pennington, 67, wife of Stanley Pennington of Mercer County died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born September 26, 1942 in Lexington, KY, Linda was the daughter of Louise Dulin Stivers of Lexington and the late Jason Stivers.

She was a homemaker, a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in McAfee, loved crocheting and most of all spending time with her grandchildren

Besides her husband and mother Linda is survived by four sons: Robert (Margo) Plunkett of Burbank, CA, Ronald (Angela) Pennington, Stanley (Kim) Pennington and David (Sandy) Pennington all of Harrodsburg, two daughters: Angela Pennington and Tina (Tony) Thompson both of Harrodsburg, two brothers: Charles Stivers and James Dulin both of Lexington, one sister: Pam Shook of Lexington, eighteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by two siblings: Sandra Stacy and Pat Christian.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Brad King officiating.

A private burial will be in the Danville Memorial Gardens with Nathan Mayes, Nick Pennington, Jason Thompson, Blake Pennington, Dylan Smith, Eddie Stacy and Tony Thompson serving as pallbearers.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. till 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Ruth C. Douglas, 70, wife of Jimmy Douglas died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

Born December 7, 1939 in Wayne County Ruth was the daughter of the late Laurel and Sidney Criswell Edwards.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Hebron Baptist Church in Salvisa.

In addition to her husband Ruth is survived by one daughter: Karen (Lee) Chowning of Lawrenceburg, two brothers: Francis (Brenda) Edwards and Jack (Tina) Edwards both of Salvisa, one sister: Carletta (Dallas) Daniels of Salvisa and three grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Ruth is preceded in death by one brother, Johnnie Edwards.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Dallas Daniels and Bro George Dye officiating.

Burial will be in the Hebron Cemetery with Ray Daniels, Travis Daniels, Scott Edwards, Jason Sprinkles, Jamie Chowning, Alan Nichols, Mike Montgomery and Robert Carpenter serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, 7:00 a.m. till 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, all at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Mrs. Edith Dearing, 88, of Harrodsburg, widow of Jessie Marvin Dearing, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born April 26, 1921 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ollie Mae Houchins Gabbert.

She was a graduate of Cornishville High School, retired from Cricketeer and Sportleigh Hall after thirty seven years and was a member of the Magnolia Street Christian Church.

She enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, working in her flowers, cooking, and spending time with her Great Great Grandchildren.

Survivors include one son Marvin Thomas Dearing and one daughter Denise Horn Spencer both of Harrodsburg.

Five grandchildren: Melissa Parker, James Donald Dearing, Mandy Taylor, Jesseca Huffman, and Marvin McCord.

Eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by one son Donald Ray Dearing, one daughter Lillie Mae McCord, and two grandsons David Cook and Barry Lynn Dearing.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Terry Morrison officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Jimmie Divine, Joe Divine, Steve Hayden, William Warrn, Richard Lewis, Brad Logan, Joe Monroe, and Kevin Horn serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Goodlett, Larry G.

Larry G. Goodlett, 62, of Harrodsburg died Saturday February 13, 2010 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born November 26, 1947 in Spencer County, he was the son of the late Lannis and Lois Christine Hilbert Goodlett. Larry was a farmer.

He was survived by one daughter: Melissa Anne (Rodney) Holt of Parksville, four brothers: Lannis Goodlett Jr., Clifford Goodlett, Phillip Goodlett, and Tony Goodlett all of Harrodsburg, three sisters: Janice Ammons and Connie McDonald of Harrodsburg and Marsha Thompson of Danville.

Larry is also survived by one grandson Keith Thielemann.

In addition to his parents Larry was also preceded in death by two sisters: Marilyn Goodlett and Waldine Gray.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Floying Thompson Jr. officiating.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Stine, Joseph Buford

December 10, 1925 - February 09, 2010

Interment: Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg

Joseph Buford Stine, 84, husband of Sixty Years to Eva M. Jenkins Stine, died Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born December 10, 1925 in Washington County, he was the son of the late James Roie and Estelle Drury Stine.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II where he served as a Tec Sgt. for 163rd Battalion Cannon Company 6th Army Division.

He retired after nineteen years with Hallmack in Harrodsburg where he was instrumental in bringing the Union, then having served for nine years as Union President.

Mr. Stine also had worked for Louisville City Transit for sixteen years, the Harrodsburg Fire Department for two years, and the Old Fort Harrod State Park for thirteen years.

He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Emulation Lodge #688 F & AM, Sharpsville, KY.

Survivors other than his wife include two daughters: Connie Marie (Kenneth) Goetsch and Norma Jean Stine both of Harrodsburg.

Two brothers: J.C. (Pearl) Stine of Harrodsburg and Phillip (Verna) Stine of Louisville.

One sister Annell (Harold) Stockton of Lawrenceburg, three grandchildren: Amanda A. Turner of Harrodsburg, Lt. Cpl. Matthew David Goetsch of Camp Pendleton, CA., and Andrew Joseph Goetsch of Harrodsburg.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by one daughter Freda Karen Stine, one brother Jackie David Stine, and one sister Dorothy Stine Cornish.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Interment with military Rites will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Chris Short, Gayle Savage, Joseph Liles, Wesley Bugg, Phillip Carmicle, and Virgil Milton serving as active pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Masonic Rites will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
