Arthur Raymond Kenney, 89, of Highland Heights, died at 9:15 a.m. Monday at his home. He was a former treasurer for the City of Southgate. His wife, Jeanette Scheider Kenney, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Laverne Smith of Highland Heights; a son, Richard Kenney of St. Louis; a sister, Sister Mary Agnes Kenney of Louisville; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Therese CHurch, Southgate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to St. Therese Church, 11 Temple Place, Southgate, Kentucky 41071; or St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Kentucky 41014.

Jason Sanders, 21, of Independence, died at 12:17 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was an employee of Tate Builders Supply Co. in Erlanger, a member of Taylor Mill Church of Christ and a Navy veteran.

Survivors include a son, Michael Allen Otten of Cold Spring; his father, James Michael Sanders of Southgate; his mother and stepfather, Sandra McClain Cox and Samuel T. Cox of Independence; a half-brother, Casey James Cox of Independence; half-sisters, Susan Lynn Howard and Shelby McKenna Cox, both of Independence; grandparents, Frank Sanders of Covington and Dorothy Bohnert of Visalia; step-grandparents, James and Betty Cox of Shelbyville, and Harold Bohnert of Visalia; and his fiancee, Emily Sandfoss of Independence.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Taylor Mill Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill, and from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

George P. Schambach, 79, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Crestview Hills, died Dec. 1 at his home. He was a retired electrical engineer with IBM, a member of the Largo, Fla., Knights of Columbus, and an Army veteran of World War II. During the war, he served in the Ordnance Corps at the White Sands Proving Grounds.

Survivors include his wife, E. Louise Schambach; sons, Dr. Richard Schambach of Glade Springs, Va., Dr. Thomas Schambach of Normal, Ill., and John Schambach of Manassas, Va.; a daughter, Patti Stiles of Yorktown, Va.; a sister, Dolores Glindmeyer of Fort Mitchell; a brother, Dr. William Schambach of Fort Thomas; and nine grandchildren.

Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Florida Sun Coast, 300 E. Bay Drive, Largo, Fla. 33770; or to charity.

Jennifer Frolo

Woman's inspiration lives on

As a child, Jennifer Frolo didn't have to look far to find her perfect role model.

After all, her mother, Jean Marie Wallen Frolo, lived in the same house.

Jennifer Frolo, now Jennifer Baker, admired everything about her mother, from her solid work ethic as a high school home economics teacher to being an understanding parent and friend.

Mrs. Frolo sewed her daughter's wedding gown. She was a union activist who went on strike with her fellow teachers. And she encouraged her children to seek jobs that would help other people.

"She was very outgoing. She had a wonderful, infectious laugh," said Mrs. Baker, who lives in Covington. "She was very dedicated. She would have done everything for us."

Jean Marie Wallen Frolo, 72, of Waynesville, Ohio, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at her home, after an extended illness.

She was a teacher with Cincinnati Public Schools and spent close to 20 years at Withrow High School, where she instructed home economics.

Mrs. Frolo was an active member of the Cincinnati Federation of Teachers and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and reading. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean.

In 1995, she became ill with heart problems. A stroke left her blind in 1997 and she was diagnosed with cancer in 1999.

Mrs. Baker is an eighth-grade teacher and credits her mother with inspiring her.

Mrs. Baker said she loved school because of her mother and became a regional Kentucky Post Spelling Bee winner in 1978.

Mrs. Baker continues to honor her mother by serving as a Ken tucky Post Spelling Bee judge.

"She was a caring, dedicated and intelligent teacher," Mrs. Baker said.

"She was so strong. She was the strongest woman I have ever known."

In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Frolo is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Frolo; daughters, Suzanne M. Lammers of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Theresa K. Karr of West Chester, Ohio; a son, Thomas Frolo Jr. of Burlington; a brother, Eugene Wallen of Clarksville, Tenn.; sisters, Sarah Jane Mowen of Dayton, Ohio, Ellen Carter of Frenchburg, Alice Bandy of Evansville, Ind., and Norma Grove of Vandalia, Ohio; and four grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Spring Grove Cemetery Chapel, Cincinnati. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Jon Deitloff Funeral Home, Cincinnati. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Clara N. Bickel, 89, of Newport, died Wednesday at Baptist Convalescent Home, Newport. She was a homemaker. Her husband, John D. Bickel, died in 1978.

Survivors include a son, Donald G. Bickel of Fairfield, Ohio; daughters, Gloria Schenk of Fort Myers, Fla., and Nancy Trowbridge of Newport; a brother, Roy Strull of Cincinnati; a sister, Delores Varbenschoten of Highland Heights; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will begin there at noon. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Baptist Convalescent Center, 120 Main St., Newport, Kentucky 41071.

Marie Bryant, 38, of Butler, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a cook with Northern Elementary School in Pendleton County, a Girl Scout leader and attended Falmouth Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie Bryant; a daughter, Amber Bryant; her parents, James and Pat Richie of Knoxville, Tenn.; and brothers, James Gordon Richie of New Mexico, Jerry Lee Richie of Hazard, Roger Richie of Knoxville and Danny "Jackie" Richie of Arlington, Va. Services will be at noon Saturday at Butler Full Gospel Church, Butler. Visitation will begin there at 6 p.m. today. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery.

Paula Carol Pickett Farris, 46, of Covington, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a retired nurse with St. Mary and St. Elizabeth hospitals in Louisville.

Survivors include her husband, William J. Farris; a son, William B. Farris of Covington; a daughter, Sara L. Farris of Covington; her parents, Charles R. and Margaret Pickett; and sisters, Sherry L. Johnson and Therese A. Meyers.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, Louisville. Visitation will begin there at 9 tonight. Burial will be in Betheny Cemetery, Louisville. Evelyn J. Thomas Heil, 76, of Covington, died Monday in Ivy Woods Rehabilitation Center, Cincinnati. Her husband, Stanley Heil, preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters, Jacqueline Wetterstroem of Dayton, Marilyn Furey of Cincinnati and Ramona McCammon of Florence; sisters, Della Eten and Sister Virginia Marie Thomas; a brother, Harry Thomas; eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Memorial Mass will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard Church, Dayton. Mrs. Heil bequeathed her body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Memorials are suggested to Vitas Health Care, 1132 W. Kemper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45240.
