Bruce Sumpter, 49, of Falmouth, died Friday at his home. He was a disabled assembly worker with Ford Motor Co., Detroit.

Survivors include daughters, Pauline Meace, Bonnie Sumpter and Bertha Sumpter, all of Falmouth, Rita Sumpter of Pensacola, Fla., and Lona Widener of Dayton; a son, Bruce J. Sumpter of Falmouth; sisters, June Anderson of Alexandria, Bertha Pack of Louisa and Effie Orma of Dayton; a brother, Paul Sumpter of Dayton; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at noon Tuesday at Newport Church of God. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. today. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.

Lucille Thomas, 81, of Sparta, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a former employee of Owen County Hospital, an Avon representative and a member of Sparta Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Smith Thomas; a son, Jimmie Thomas of Sparta; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Main Street, Owenton. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 tonight at the Funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Owenton. Memorials are suggested to Sparta Christian Church, Sparta, Kentucky 41086.

'Jack' Payne served Southgate
with city council, fire department

William "Jack" Payne of Wilder was a true public servant. He served 11 years on Southgate City Council - primarily in the 1970s - during which time he also was an assistant fire chief and member of the life squad in the city.

After that, Mr. Payne served 11 years on the Northern Kentucky Water District Board.

He and his wife, Evelyn "Sis" Payne, both volunteered at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center in Norwood, Ohio. He painted the large chapel there.

"We were always volun teering or doing something together," said Mrs. Payne.

They were married for nearly 49 years.

"He was a very loveable person," she said. "He had a great sense of humor, and everybody just loved him."

Mr. Payne died Saturday night at his home. He was 70.

Mr. Payne grew up in Cincinnati, in the Elm and Liberty streets area.

He worked 35 years for the Procter & Gamble Co. of Cincinnati.

As a transportation specialist, Mr. Payne analyzed shipping costs. He also taught the subject at evening classes at the University of Cincinnati.

Besides his wife, survivors include daughters, Mary Jane Schnelle of Nashville, Tenn., and Patty Dieman of Alexandria; sons, Ronald Payne and Paul Payne, both of Southgate, Thomas Payne of Burlington and Guy Payne of Fort Thomas; his mother, Catherine Payne of Alexandria; a brother, Ronald Payne of Brentwood, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Therese Church in Southgate.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Fort Thomas.

Prayers will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas.

Albert H. Arlinghaus, 77, of Fort Mitchell, died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday at his home.

He was a an employee of Ford Motor Co. in Cincinnati, a memberof United Auto Workers Local No. 863, Cincinnati, and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Daughters, Donna J. Arlinghaus and Patricia D. Arlinghaus, died in 1965 and 1966, respectively.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Marie Gripshover Arlinghaus; sons, Albert J. Arlinghaus of Petersburg, Jerry L. Arlinghaus of Fort Mitchell, George A. Arlinghaus of Fort Thomas, James J. Arlinghaus of Burlington, Paul M. Arlinghaus of Union and J. John Arlinghaus of Fort Wright; daughters, Judith A. Vinegar of West Chester, Ohio, Connie S. Darpel of Fort Mitchell, Mary M. Carroll of Anderson, Ohio, Diane M. Terrana of Crestview Hills and A. Cathy Pedro of Taylor Mills; brothers, Norman Arlinghaus of Edgewood, Art Arlinghaus and Carl Arlinghaus, both of Fort Mitchell, John Arlinghaus of Fort Thomas, Tom Arlinghaus of Belleview, and Lou Arlinghaus of Covington; a sister, Mae Schroeder of Fort Mitchell; and 28 grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia. Raymond Gus Bolton, 78, of Newport, died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Cincinnati.

He was a retired welder with Littleford Brothers in Florence, a member of American Legion Post No. 11, Newport, and an Army veteran of World War II. A brother, Les Bolton, also died on Saturday.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Estep Bolton; daughters, Donna Egan, Kathy Bolton, Penny Bolton and Tracie Bolton, all of Newport, and Dollie Barrett of Foster; a son, Robert Bolton of Bellevue; a brother, Walter Bolton of Alexandria; a sister, Edna Abeling of Atlanta; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sister Mary Euphrasia Bruder, R.G.S., 98, of Fort Thomas, died Friday at Pelletier Hall, Fort Thomas.

Formerly Clare Emma Marie, Sister Bruder was a religion teacher and chaplain's housekeeper with the Sisters of the Good Shepherd.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

James H. Dolwick, 83, of Hebron, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.

He was a landowner and farmer, a member of Hebron Lutheran Church and the Hebron Lions Club. Mr. Dolwick was a Boone County Farm Bureau director and an original member and former chairman of the Boone County Police Merit Board. He also was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Dolwick; a son, Jim Dolwick of Hebron; a daughter, Barbara Schulte of Gaithersburg, Md.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Richard A. Domaschko Sr., 58, of Covington, died at 11:26 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

He was an electrical maintenance man with Saturday Knight Limited, Cincinnati.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammie Lipscomb of Florence; sons, Richard Domaschko Jr. and Mark Domaschko, both of Florence; his mother, Elsa Domaschko of Verona; sisters, Katherine Domaschko of Verona, Maryann Sullinger of Florence, Helen Long of Burlington and Ann Liver of Carlisle; brothers, George Domaschko and Robert Domaschko, both of Florence, William Domaschko and Carl Domaschko, both of Verona, and Edward Domaschko of Independence; and 12 grandchildren.

George E. Hampton, 71, of Newport, died Thursday at his home. He was a retired purchasing agent for General Electric and a member of Love and Faith Fellowship Church, Newport.

Survivors include stepdaughters, Mary "Liz" Barber of Bellevue and Pat Bendle of Fort Thomas; stepsons, Tom McIntosh of Newport and Don McIntosh of Bellevue; a brother, James Hampton of Newport; sisters, Martha Hawkins of Dayton, Lucy Willoughby and Mary Deaton, both of Newport; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Alice Louise Marshall Hardy, 92, of Aberdeen, Ohio, formerly of Bracken County, died at 9:25 a.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Peebles, Ohio.

She was a farmer and a member of Central United Methodist Church, Maysville. Her husband, Samuel Kelsie Hardy, a son, Samuel Kelsey Hardy Jr., and stepson, Roscoe Hardy, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters, Lelia Ann Payne of Aberdeen, Wanda Jean Ginn of Marion, Ind., and Ethel Irene Hargett of Falmouth; a stepdaughter, Helen Hopkins of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rita Mary Klingenberg, 79, of Villa Hills, died Saturday at Madonna Manor nursing home in Villa Hills. She was a retired office manager with John R. Kopp Co., and a member of Legion of Mary and Rosie Reds.

Survivors include a sister, Sister Joseph M. Klingenberg, O.S.B. of Villa Hills; brothers, Joseph J. Klingenberg of Villa Hills and Dr. Paul H. Klingenberg of Anandale, Va.; nieces and nephews.

Charles Adrian Mason, 77, of Walton, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

He was a retired supervisor with Signode Corp., a former dance teacher and a member of Union Mason Lodge, the Scottish Rite and Shriners. He was a horse trader and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Jason David Milfeld, 26, of Park Hills, was found dead Friday at his home.

He was a car salesman with Joseph Toyota, Cincinnati.

Thelma Lea Caproni Skillman, 79, of Maysville, died at 8:50 a.m. Saturday at Vanceburg Rehabilitation Health Care Center. She was owner of Caproni's Restaurant in Maysville, and a member of St. Patrick Church, Maysville. Her first husband, Alfred Wil liam Caproni, died in 1966. Her second husband, John W. Skillman, died in 1987.

Survivors include daughters, Barbara Verville of Maysville and Nancye Hauck of Louisville; a son, Edward Skillman of Lexington; a sister, Juanita Oliverio of Ashland; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Olivia J. "Ruby R." Temple, 91, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday at her home.

She was a retired owner of a Dairy Bar for 45 years, where she also waitressed. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Northern Kentucky First Ward, Fort Mitchell. Her husband, John C. Temple, died in 1961.

Survivors include a son, John C. Temple of Cincinnati; daughters, Ruby M. Vance and Elizabeth M. "Betty" Seltzer, both of Cincinnati; a sister, Lucille King of Tampa, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Service swill be at noon Tuesday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Winchester Cemetery. This obituary is being published again to correct information given The Kentucky Post.

Richard L. "Pete" Tolle, 72, of Maysville, died at 8 a.m. Friday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.

He was a plant maintenance worker with Maysville Utility Commission and a self-employed wallpaper hanger and painter. He managed the Lee House apartment complex in Maysville.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene Tolle; a daughter, Connie Marinaro of Maysville; a brother, James Tolle of Lexington; sisters, Betty Moran of Maysville and Marie Hickerson of Maysville; and two grandchildren.
