Funeral Mass for Brenda Hill Kortz will be Tuesday July 1, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church. The Revs. Larry McBride, Al Bremer, and Pat Bittle will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation for Brenda Kortz will be Monday evening June 30, 2003 after 5:00 p.m. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Mrs. Brenda Kortz, 59, of Paducah passed away Saturday June 28, 2003 at Lourdes Hospital. She was a housewife and a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church.

Surviving are her husband Earl Kortz, two daughters Amanda Kortz Adams of Paducah, Michele Kortz Livesay of Benton, three sons Chris Kortz and Jamie Kortz both of Paducah, and Mark Kortz of Pattonsburg, Mo. Six grandchildren Justin Allyn Kortz of Paducah, Aaron Tyler Livesay, Ryan Tayler Livesay and Logan Allan Livesay all of Benton. Paige Lea Ann Adams of Paducah, and Carsyn Grey Kortz of Paducah. One sister Francis Hill Cochran of Paducah and three half-brothers. Step-father James Nalley of Evansville, In. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents James S. Hill and Margarete Smith Hill. One sister and one brother.

Contributions may be made to St. Francis deSales Catholic Church Building Fund, 116 S. 6th St. Paducah, KY 42003.

Mr. William "Ernie" Long

Services for William E. "Ernie" Long, 87, of West Paducah will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. The Revs. Jewell Barrett, Tom Starks, and Keith Tilford will officiate. Burial will be in Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Mr. Long died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at his home.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and member of Harmony Baptist Church, Local 181 Operating Engineers, Elks, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Larry Alexander of West Paducah; one son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Dianna Long of West Paducah; four grandchildren, Penny Alexander, Jason Alexander, Joshua Long, and Jayce Long; and three stepgrandchildren.

Mr. Long was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Helen Winters Long; one grandson, Jimmy Long; and two sisters. His parents were James Lonnie and Lonie Estelle Tucker Long.

Friends may call between 5 and 8 p.m. today at the Funeral home.

Joseph N. Reddick, 81, of Bardwell died at 4:08 a.m. Tuesday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Reddick served with the 661st Tank Destroyer Battalion in the European theater. He was a retired farmer and a member of Morris Valley Christian Church, Bardwell Masonic Lodge No. 499 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Denver Hudgens Post 5409. He served as master commissioner of Carlisle County for several years.

Surviving are his wife, Ethel Inez Reddick; five daughters, Brenda Kaye Martin of Kirbyton, Sarah Sue Davis of Cunningham, Patsy Lane Doom of Benton, Cinda Lou Wilson of Lone Oak and Wanda Gail Geveden of Madison, Ala.; three sons, Tommy Lee Reddick, Larry Joe Reddick and Samuel Newton Reddick, all of Bardwell; two sisters, Donna Jean McGary of Bardwell and Barbara Murphy of Paducah; 24 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister. His parents were Toy Thomas and Sarah Enice Jackson Reddick.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home in Bardwell with Keith Tilford and Bryan Ray officiating. Burial will be in Elsey Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral home.

Joseph R. Barnes, 87, of Symsonia died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday at Superior Care Home Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.

A native of Marshall County, Mr. Barnes was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Florsheim Shoe Factory.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Newman of Atlanta and Jeane Schultetus of Symsonia; one grandson, Jeffrey Dodds; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Marie Freeman Barnes; one sister; and two brothers. His parents were Louie and Hettie Rebecca Bolton Barnes.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Lone Oak with Dr. Roger Reid officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Bolton Cemetery in Symsonia.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral home.

Services for Bobbie Eugene "Bob" Dudley, 66, of Paducah will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Lone Oak. The Revs. Joe Weaver, Dale Robison and Eddie Osburn will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Dudley died at 12:40 a.m. Saturday at Western Baptist Hospital.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was a Mason and member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. A retired ironworker, he was founder and senior instructor of the Kentucky motorcycle safety program at West Kentucky Technical School. He was also member of Goldwing Riders Association, United Sidecar Association and Christian Motorcycle Association.

Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca Dudley of Panama City, Fla.; three sons, James Osborne, Paul E. Osborne and Lance Dudley, all of Paducah; one brother, Steven Wayne Dudley of Paducah; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dudley was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Sue Osburn Dudley. His parents were Albert "Bill" and Edna Mae Eicholtz Dudley.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at the Funeral home. Masonic rites will be at 7 p.m.

Curtis Andrew Weitlauf, 48, of Hickory died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

A graduate of St. Mary High School, Mr. Weitlauf was a transportation engineer technologist for the Kentucky Department of Highways. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the 1960s band, Little Bits.

Surviving are his wife, Janice Ann Youngblood Weitlauf; his mother, Shirley Wynn Weitlauf of Paducah; one sister, Mendy Weitlauf Shelton of Louisville; three brothers, Stan Weitlauf, Kenny Weitlauf and Mickey Weitlauf, all of Paducah; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tooney Joseph Weitlauf.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry McBride officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Lone Oak; prayers are set for 7.

Philecia E. Devinney, 83, of Paducah died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at her home.

A native of Paducah, Mrs. Devinney worked for Claussner Hosiery Mill and Wallerstein's Clothing Store. She was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are one daughter, Janalyn Rice of Paducah; one son, Michael O. Devinney of Kuttawa; two sisters, Patsy Hawkins and Jeane Meadows, both of Paducah; one brother, Harold Owens of Covina, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry G. Devinney; one grandson; two sisters; and three brothers. Her parents were James Lloyd and Frances Estella Owens.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ben Butler officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Services for Emily Ellen Davis Fugate, 81, of Paducah will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Rev. Al Bremer officiating. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Grand Rivers.

Mrs. Fugate died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday at Western Baptist Hospital.

A retired transportation clerk with Cook Electric Company in Chicago, she was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and Bellview Baptist Church. She was associated with the American Lung Association for several years.

Surviving are one daughter, Jo Ellen Kowalski of Elmhurst, Ill.; two grandchildren, Maryellen Kowalski of Elmhurst and William Derek Kowalski of Bensenville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Fugate; five sisters; and one brother. Her parents were Joseph and Minnie Harrel Davis.

Mr. Nannie died at 9 a.m. Monday at his home.

A native of Melber, he was a retired truck driver and member of Teamsters Local Union No. 236. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

Surviving are one daughter, Anita McKinney of Paducah; one son, Terry E. Nannie Jr. of Butler, Pa.; one sister, Joyce Thomasson of Louisville; and four grandchildren, Cheyenne McKinney of Paducah and Isabella Nannie, Olivia Nannie and Max Nannie, all of Butler; one niece; one nephew; and two great-nieces.

His parents were Thomas Noel and Tibbie Carney Nannie.

Mrs. Doris Mae "Me Me" Wiley

Our precious Me Me went to live with our heavenly Father on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at 2:55 p.m.

Memorial services for Doris "Me Me" Catlin Wiley will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will precede the memorial at 1 p.m. Monday at Mount Kenton Cemetery. The Rev. Lynn Shurley will officiate.

Mrs. Wiley was born icon in West Point, Miss. She was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and the University of Kentucky, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.

Me Me was the retired executive director of the Paducah-McCracken County Convention and Visitors Bureau. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as choir member and former choir director. She was also known as a very talented soloist.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George E. Wiley Sr.; two daughters, Caroline Wiley Wilson and her husband, David, of Davis, Calif., and Jane Wiley Howe and her husband, H. Milton Howe, of Houston; two sons, George Emerson Wiley Jr. and his wife, Kate, of West Monroe, La., and Zebulon Dickey Wiley of Paducah; five grandchildren, Knox Briscoe Howe II and Alexander Howe, both of Houston, Wiley Wilson of Davis, and Rachel Streeter and Zachary Streeter, both of West Monroe; and one sister, Elizabeth Catlin "Betty" Spencer and her husband, Hubbard B. Spencer Jr., of Winchester. Also surviving are William P. Morton and Betty Wiley Morton and family of Hazard.

Mrs. Wiley was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Wilma Dickey McEwen and Cecil Ray McEwen; her father, Douglas Wright Catlin; and one brother, Dr. C. Ray McEwen of Columbus, Miss.

Our profound love and thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of Western Baptist Hospital.

Mr. West died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.

A native of Hickman County, he was a retired farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are one daughter, Janet Chadduck of Arlington; five sons, Ralph West and David West, both of Milburn, Wayne West of Illinois, Mike West of Clarksville, Tenn., and Ricky West of Bardwell; one sister, Pauline West of Hopkinsville; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Jones West, and five sisters. His parents were James Edward West Sr. and Emma Sherfield West.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Funeral home.

A Graveside memorial services for Ruth L. Ryan Gayle, 87, of Paducah will be at 2 p.m. today at Fooks Cemetery in Marshall County.

Mrs. Gayle died at 6:03 p.m. Sunday at Lourdes hospital.

She was a 1934 graduate of Reidland High School and a retired cook for Houghland Barge Line.

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Garner of Paducah; one brother, Robert "Jake" Ryan of Lone Oak; two grandchildren, Cynthia Ritchie of Ledbetter and Joe Garner Jr. of Paducah; one great-grandson; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gayle; one great-grandson; one sister; and one brother. Her parents were Robert and Mary Gentry Ryan.

There will be no visitation.
