Services for Marilyn Ann Grant Williams of Big Bear City, CA, formerly of Dixon, were conducted by Big Bear Mortuary in Big Bear, CA. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Riverside, CA.

Mrs. Williams died Nov. 17, 2003, in Big Bear City Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Williams; two sons, Robert Williams Jr., of Big Bear City, CA, and A.F. Lt. Col. Joe Scott Williams of Dayton, OH; a daughter, Beverly Ann Cahill of Big Bear City, CA; a brother, Hugh Max Grant of Galt, CA; two sisters, Lila Meyer of Sequin, TX, and Betty Sue Turner of Huntingburg, IN; and eight grandchildren.

Alexis Morgan Fisher

Graveside services for Alexis Morgan Fisher, infant, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Old Cedar Grove Cemetery in Tilden. The Rev. Doug Stallins officiated the services.

Infant Fisher died at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

Survivors include her parents, Brad and Tracy Fisher of Dixon; her grandparents Richard and Barbara Capps of Dixon, and Dave and Debbie Cox of Henderson; and her great-grandparents, Edith Walters of Dixon, Anna Capps of Morganfield, Doris Dudley, Roy and Janice Cox, and Ralph Dossett, all of Henderson.

Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon was in charge of arrangements.

Alena Michelle Flowers

Services for Alena Michelle Flowers, 31, of Geneva, FL, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Banfield Funeral Home in Winter Springs, FL. Dr. Glenn C. Riggs and pastors Larry Stephen and Mike Carringer officiated the services.

Mrs. Flowers died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003 in Florida.

She attended grade school in Madisonville. She was an active member of Starlight Baptist Church in Winter Springs, FL. She was also a graduate of Oviedo High School.

Survivors include her husband, Greg Flowers; two daughters, Megan Flowers and Madison Flowers; two sons, Christopher Terry and Kaleb Terry; a stepson, Jeremy Flowers; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Flowers; her father and mother, James Head and Glenda Gayle Head; grandparents, Mary Head, Melvin Hatcher and Serena Hatcher; a brother, Jordan Michiels; niece, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins.

William (Bill) Frazier

Services for William (Bill) Frazier, 92, of Clay, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay. The Rev. Jeff McMain officiated, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Clay.

Mr. Frazier died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree.

He was a jeweler for many years. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Clay and was a U.S. Army veteran.

There are no immediate survivors.

Robert W. Isbell

Services for Robert W. Isbell, 97, of Hartville, OH, formerly of Clay, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay. Dr. Lee James officiated, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Clay.

Mr. Isbell died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Altercare of Hartville, OH.

He had retired in 1971 from the Experimental Department of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. He also had worked at Townsend's Food Center in Clay. He was a member of the Chapel in Marlboro, OH, and had been a member of First Baptist Church in Clay.

Survivors include two sons, William Isbell of Hartville, OH, and Lt. Col. Kenneth Isbell of Springboro, OH; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Elston Duane (Petey) Jones

Graveside services for Elston Duane (Petey) Jones, 41, of Providence, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at White Oak Cemetery near Clay. The Rev. Barry Cullen officiated the services.

Mr. Jones died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at his residence.

He was a member of General Baptist Church in Providence.

Survivors include his parents, Elston Daniel Jones and Portla Hearrin Jones of Providence; a sister, Kimberly Winstead of Dixon; a niece and a newphew.

Edith Hancock Roland

Services for Edith Hancock Roland, 91, of Onton, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Onton United Methodist Church in Onton. The Revs. Selby Coomer and Greg Shannon officiated, with burial in Onton Cemetery.

Mrs. Roland died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at her daughter's residence in Onton.

She was a homemaker and member of Onton United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a member of the choir and the quilters group.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn King of Onton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Tompkins Funeral Homes, Slaughters/Hanson Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

James Payton Skipworth

Graveside services for James Payton Skipworth, infant son of Terry (Hobie) and Elizabeth Brown Skipworth of Lexington, were conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Madison Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Lowell Langfeld officiated the services.

Infant Skipworth died Tuesday evening, Dec. 9, 2003, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his twin sister, Amanda Elizabeth Skipworth; grandparents, Caroline Brown of Clay, Donald and Lilly Skipworth of Berea; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home in Richmond was in charge of arrangements.

Rebecca Evelyn Burden Hallum

Services for Rebecca Evelyn Burden Hallum, 69, of Hanson, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. The Rev. J.C. Burden officiated, with burial in West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson.

Mrs. Hallum died at 2:58 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd W. Hallum; two daughters, Debbie Monts and Shelby Green, both of South Carolina; a son, Eddie Green of Florida; two stepdaughters, Ann Hedgepath of Crofton and Kathleen Sherril of Beulah; three stepsons, Larry Hallum of Madisonville, and Floyd E. Hallum and Billy Joe Hallum, both of Nortonville; four brothers, Edward Earl Burden of Goodlettesville, TN, John Ennis Burden of Providence, Lennie Eugene Burden of Madisonville, and Richard Norman Burden of Mortons Gap; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Loice B. Drury

Services for Loice B. Drury, 87, of Henderson, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. The Rev. J. Edward Bradley officiated, with burial in St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson.

Mrs. Drury died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis J. Manion, Veronica L. McAtee, and Martha S. Jackson, all of Henderson, and Demetria J. Culver of Dixon; three sons, Ollie J. Drury, Thomas L. Drury, and Anthony W. Drury, all of Henderson; a brother, Elbridge Byrne of Henderson; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home in Henderson was in charge of arrangements.

Edith Mae Hackney Harper

Services for Edith Mae Hackney Harper, 74, of Madisonville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Melton Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Joseph Groves officiated, with interment in Hopewell Cemetery in Webster County.

Mrs. Harper died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Teague of Henderson, and July Quillen and Wilma (Pedie) Todd, both of St. Charles; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Jones of St. Charles and Bonnie Montgomery of Clay; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Norma June (Roland) Pepperted

Private services for Norma June (Roland) Pepperted were conducted at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Slaughters/Hanson Chapel. There was no visitation.

Mrs. Pepperted died at 3:47 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at the home of her sister Shirley Nance in Onton.

A native of Webster County, she was a beautician and a member of Onton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Bobby Roland of Slaughter, Jack Roland of Clark Summit, PA, and Ronnie Roland of Robards; three sisters, Wanda Qualls of Sebree, and Sue Thomasson and Shirley Nance, both of Onton.

Murray Tyler (Curly) Pitt

Services for Murray Tyler (Curly) Pitt, 97, of Hebbardsville, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 16, at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson. The Revs. Mayer VanBussum, Vic Trogdon and Randy Durham officiated, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson.

Mr. Pitt died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree.

He was a retired logger and farmer.

Survivors include a son, Danny Pitt of Hebbardsville; a caregiver, Brenda Pitt of Hebbardsville; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Marvin Baker

Services for Marvin Baker, 92, of Cape Girardeau, MO, formerly of Richmond Heights, MO, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Maplewood, MO. Burial followed in Lake Charles Cemetery in Pagedale, MO.

Mr. Baker died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

A native of Lisman, he moved to St. Louis in the early years of the Great Depression and worked in banking most of his adult life. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, having received the Purple Heart for injuries received at the Battle of Anzio in Italy in 1944. He was also a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ in Maplewood, MO, and a former member of the Lisman Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two nephews, David L. Baker of Providence, and Don C. Baker of Paducah; and a niece, Margaret B. Vaughn, of Murray.

Betty June Bumpus Chandler

Services for Betty June Bumpus Chandler, 59, Chicago, IL, formerly of Dixon, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon. The Rev. David Bumpus will officiate, with burial to follow in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.

Mrs. Chandler died at 11:57 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Luther General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL.

She was a graduate of Dixon High School, where she was a majorette.

Survivors include her husband, Gus Chandler; a daughter, Dawn Baxter of Clarksville, TN; a son, Christopher Chandler of Chicago; three brothers, John Billy Bumpus of Charlotte, NC, Denny Bumpus and Larry Bumpus, both of Henderson; two sisters, Peggy Shoulders of Henderson and Mildred Sigler of Frankfort; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. until service time on Thursday.

Edith Mae Hackney Harper

Services for Edith Mae Hackney Harper, 74, of Madisonville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Melton Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Joseph Groves officiated, with interment in Hopewell Cemetery in Webster County.

Mrs. Harper died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Teague of Henderson, and Judy Quillen and Wilma (Pedie) Todd, both of St. Charles; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Jones of St. Charles and Bonnie Montgomery of Clay; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Amelia Puryear

Services for Amelia Puryear, 87, of Poole, were conducted 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson The Rev. Gary Puryear and Troy Leland officiated, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Boxville.

Mrs. Puryear died at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at her residence.

She was a member of Poole Church of Christ. She and her late husband also owned and operated the Puryear grocery store in Poole for more than 30 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Patty Springer of Poole and Dorothy Lauver of Henderson; a son, Sam Puryear of Poole; a sister, Jean Starr of Lakeland, FL.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Gladys Cobb Adams

Services for Gladys Cobb Adams, 94, of Madisonville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at First United Methodist Church in Madisonville. Burial followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Mrs. Adams died at 1:29 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2003, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

A native of Slaughters, she a housewife and member of First United Methodist Church since 1933. She was also a former member of Groves Chapel United Methodist Church in Slaughters and a former school teachers. She had worked with the White Sox baseball tem in Hollywood, FL, for two years.

Survivors include a son, Jess Freeman Adams of Madisonville; two sisters, Robbie Cobb Clyburn and Sarah Leach, both of Evansville, IN; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville was in charge of arrangements.

Joy Lynn Donahoo

Graveside services for Joy Lynn Donahoo, 39, of Madisonville, formerly of Slaughters, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Zion Brick Church Cemetery near Slaughters.

Ms. Donahoo died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at her residence.

She attended Zion Brick Missionary Baptist Church near Slaughters.

Survivors include her father, J.L. Donahoo of Slaughters; two brothers, Troy Donahoo of Slaughters and Jesse Alan Donahoo of Lake Statton, IN; and a sister, Carol Lynn Gales of Portage, IN.

There was no visitation at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Slaughter/Hanson Chapel.

Aaron Douglas Wilkey

Memorial services for Aaron Douglas Wilkey, 69, of Clay, will be conducted at a later date.

Mr. Wilkey died at 12:51 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

He had been a policeman and school teacher. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sandra Wilkey; two daughters, Kathy Wilkey and Beth Morris, both of Gilbert, AZ; a son, Craig Douglas Wilkey of Silver Dale, WA; a brother, James Wilkey of Fountain Valley, CA; and several grandchildren.
