Mary Lee Adams

Services for Mary Lee Adams, 89, of Madisonville, formerly of Providence, were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. Bro. Tondra Daugherty officiated, with burial in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.

Mrs. Adams died at 8:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Senior Citizens Nursing Home in Madisonville.

Survivors include her husband, Edmond Adams; five grandchildren; and three nephews.

R. Christine Hartford Holder

Services for R. Christine Hartford Holder, 85, of Festus, MO, formerly of Onton, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at Mahn Festus Chapel in Festus, MO. The Rev. Richard Carter officiated the services. Graveside services were held at noon Saturday, Jan. 31, at Sunset Memorial Garden in Evansville, IN.

Mrs. Holder died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, in Crystal City, MO.

She was a homemaker and member of the Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City.

Survivors include a daughter, Myrna Holder of Chiefland, FL; a son and his wife, Duane and Judy Holder of Festus, MO; two sisters, Alda Sellers of Dixon and Lois Christman of Henderson; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Tate Simpson Nall

Graveside services for Tate Simpson Nall, infant son of Todd and Tracy Nall of Clay, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at Blackford Cemetery in Blackford. The Rev. Dale Williams officiated the services.

Infant Nall died shortly after birth on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

Other survivors include two sisters, Adonnas Wint and Jaci Nall, both of Clay; a brother, Brandon Beach of Clay; grandparents, Wanda Nall of Clay and Gene and Nedra Wilson of Poole; great-grandmother Rubye Vail of McComb, IL.

There was no visitation at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay.

Ollie F. Hamby

Services for Ollie F. Hamby, 59, of Marion, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion. The Revs. Gary Hardesty and Tim Rigdon officiated, with burial in Rosebud Cemetery.

Mr. Hamby died at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at Crittenden County Hospital in Marion.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Hamby; a daughter, Jessica Nichols of Dawson Springs; three sons, Ron Lynn of East Alton, IL; James Hamby of Providence, and Richard Crews of Nebo; his mother, Ina Jean Ryan of Princeton; three brothers, Bobby Hamby of Marion, Steve Hamby of Clay, and Phillip 'Woody' Hamby of Diamond; four sisters, Vilene Hurley of Marion, Paula McGill of Marion, Jeanie Dulin of Eddyville, and Robin Thomas of Princeton; and eight grandchildren.

Henry Eugene (Gene) Stone

Memorial services for Henry Eugene (Gene) Stone, 62, of Yuma, AZ, formerly of Henderson, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at Christ Corner Church in Henderson. The Revs. Joseph M. Wright and Paul Rigdon officiated. A memorial service was also held Monday, Jan. 12, 2004. Sunset Vista Funeral Home in Yuma was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stone died Wendesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at Yuma Medical Center in Yuma, AZ.

He was of the Pentecostal faith. He had formerly worked as a driver for Rose Tuck Line of Dallas for 20 years. He was presently emplyed at Yuma Sand Gravel.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Marion; two daughters, Martha Payne of Owensboro and Samantha Daughterly of Paducah; his mother, Alice Stone of Henderson; two sisters, Linda Powell of Dixon and Shirley Wright of Henderson; four brothers, James (Jimmy) Stone of Columbus, MS, Everett Stone of Nashville, TN, and Owen Stone and Robert Stone, both of Henderson; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles.

Jack Liles

Services for Jack Liles, 69, of Owensboro, were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford.

Mr. Liles died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

He owned and operated Liles Wheel Alignment in Owensboro and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his former wife and best friend of 29 years, Brenda 'Josie' Edge of Owensboro; three daughters, Jackie Lee Snyder of Mount Vernon, IL, Lori Bittel of Chattanooga, TN, and Jenny Hardesty of Philpot; a son, Richard Kent Liles of Owensboro; two brothers, Charlie Liles of Jennings, LA, and Glenn Liles of Clay; three sisters, Frances Hudson and Jane Marks, both of Providence, and Sue Polley of Titusville, FL; and nine grandchildren.

Bettie Mae Melton

Services for Bettie Mae Melton, 86, of Henderson, were conducted 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Hyland Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeff Coursey officiated, with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole.

Mrs. Melton died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

She was a member of Hyland Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Smith of Henderson; a sister, Lucille Shanks of Henderson; nieces and nephews.

Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson was in charge of arrangements.

Sammye A. Vilines

Services for Sammye A. Vilines, 55, of Dixon, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon. The Rev. Darrell Hillhouse officiated, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Dixon.

Mrs. Vilines died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at her residence.

She had worked for the State of Kentucky, Department for Community Based Services, Cabinet for Families and Children and also a former employee of South Central Bell Telephone Company in Danville. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Randy C. Vilines; a son, Jeff Roysdon of Bowling Green; two stepdaughters, Sherri Williams and Tina Gladyszak, both of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother, Lewis Anderson of Lexington; one grandchild; and two step-grandchildren.

Caleb Ja'ron Gilmore

Graveside services for Caleb Ja'ron Gilmore, infant son of Thelma Yvonne Gilmore and Randall Lamont Green, of Madisonville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at Cumberland Hill Cemetery in Providence. The Rev. Mitchell Ferguson officiated the services.

Infant Gilmore died at 6:37 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Other survivors include two sisters, Brandy Green and Ta'Shyia Green, both of Madisonville; his grandparents, William Gilmore of Wadley, GA, Aritha Louise Green of Providence, and Eva Green Willis of Madisonville; and his stepgrandfather, Coleman Willis of Madisonville.

Elliott Mortuary in Madisonville was in charge of arrangements.

William (Tommy) Hardrick

Services for William (Tommy) Hardrick, 66, of Henderson, were conducted Tuesday in Ohio at McVay Funeral Home.

Mr. Hardrick died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at his residence.

He worked in the oil business for many years.

Survivors include three daughters, Kris Jewell, Kristie Dickens and Stacy Helmick, all of Henderson; four sons, Randy Hardrick and Donnie Hardrick, both of Henderson, Ronnie Hardrick of Burgin, KY, and Terry Hardrick of Ohio; three sisters, Bettye Slaughters and Linda Durbin, both of Henderson, and Kaye Duncan of Slaughters; two brothers, Bobby Hardrick of Slaughters and Donnie Hardrick of Central City; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his companion, Nancy Lake of Ohio.

Billie Joe Powell

Services for Billie Joe Powell, 82, of Sebree, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Sebree/Poole Chapel. The Revs. David Bumpus and Rudy Moser officiated, with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole.

Mr. Powell died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at his residence.

A native of Webster County, he was a retired member of the Operating Engineer Local No. 181 in Henderson and was a memeber of Sebree General Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army World War II veteran and member of Bailey-Onton Masonic Lodge No. 538 in Sebree, Rizpah Temple and Scottish Rite of Madisonville, and a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include a daughter, Kim Powell of Sebree; a sister, Dorothy Frasier of Mishawaka, IN; a stepsister, Clarice Jean Hinton of Scottsdale, AZ.

Ruth Agnes Brown

Services for Ruth Agnes Brown, 84, of Sebree, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Sebree/Poole Chapel. Dr. Dan Lovell will officiate, with burial to follow in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree.

Mrs. Brown died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree.

She was a homemaker and member of Sebree Christian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member and Past Matron of the Sebree Eastern Star Chapter, Sebree Golden Lady 1999, and was president of the Residents Council at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home.

Survivors include two sons, James A. Nance and Jerry (Poogie) Brown, both of Sebree; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

David (Coonie) Stevens

Services for David (Coonie) Stevens, 73, of Henderson, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Melton Funeral Home in Providence. The Rev. Sam Beeney will officiate, with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Providence.

Mr. Stevens died Monday morning, Feb. 16, 2004, at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.

He was a member of Providence VFW Jack McDowell Post No. 5484.

Survivors include seven daughters, Deborah Stevens of Bowling Green, Wendy Schmittou of Danville, IN, Rebecca Kremer of Suttons Bay, MI, Deborah Heidrich of Pride, KY, Pamela Wilson of Nebo, Wilma Haggard of Evansville, IN, and Dotti Keuster of Henderson; a son, Jamie Pendergraff of Morganfield; two sisters, Candi Crisp of Evansville, IN, and Claudia Campbell of Providence; two brothers, Jimmy Ray Stevens of Redford, MI, and Dow (Bucky) Stevens of Morganfield; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until service at the Funeral home.

Ella Mae Wyatt

Services for Ella Mae Wyatt, 92, of Nebo, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Melton Funeral Home in Providence. Billy Parrish and the Rev. Fred Harrison officiated, with burial in Union Cemetery in Nebo.

Mrs. Wyatt died Monday morning, Feb. 16, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue Campbell of Clay; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Tommy Carver

Services for Tommy Carver, 80, of Hanson, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Slaughters/Hanson Chapel. The Rev. Leighton Thomison officiated, with burial in Slaughters Cemetery in Slaughters.

Mr. Carver died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

A native of Webster County, he was a retired farmer, coal miner and dozer operator.

Survivors include his wife, Edna (Hartford) Carver; three sons, Larry Carver of Corbin, Kirby Carver of Madisonville and Craig Carver of Hanson; three brothers, Raymond Carver of Hampton, KY, Curtis Carver of Madisonville, and Hayden Carver of Slaughters; a sister, Ruth Parker of Madisonville; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Inez Hanor

Services for Dorothy Inez Hanor, 75, of Clay, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay. the Rev. Rick Oakley officiated, with burial in New Clay Cemetery in Clay.

Mrs. Hanor died 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004, at her residence.

She was a member of First General Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lorie and Woody of Clay; a son, Danny Lee Hanor of Hesperia, CA; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Tommy L. Wyatt

Services for Tommy L. Wyatt, 30, of Dixon, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 29, at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon. The Rev. Darrell Hillhouse officiated, with burial in Townsend Cemetery in Dixon.

Mr. Wyatt died at 11:32 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

He was a member of Hillcrest Community Churchi n Dixon.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Wyatt of Dixon; two daughters, Christine Wyatt and Audrey Wyatt, both at home; a son, Cory Wyatt at home; parents, Jerry and Mildred Wyatt of Dixon; a brother, Donnie Wyatt of Providence; two sisters, Charlotte Gibson of North Carolina and Donna Braden of Providence; nieces and nephews.

Emma Goodley Benton

Graveside services for Emma Goodley Benton, 48, of Providence, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson. The Rev. Jeff McMain officiated the services.

Mrs. Benton died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at her residence.

She was a homemaker and mother. She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include a son, Matthew Arron Benton of Providence; her father and stepmother, Hal V. and Darlene Goodley of Harlingen, TX; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Darrell Quertermous of Hannibal, MO; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Hal D. and Patricia Goodley of Madisonville, George and Trish Goodley of Dixon, and James and Calista Goodley of Knoxville, TN; nieces, nephews, and step-nieces.

There was no visitation at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon.

James L. Borum

Services for James L. Borum, 71, of Evansville, IN, were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, at Alexander West Chapel in Evansville. The Rev. Wayne Perkins officiated, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Evansville.

Mr. Borum died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at his residence.

He was a member of Slaughters Christian Church, American Legion of Mt. Vernon, River Bend Association, Refrigeration Engineers Society and Plumbers & Stream Fitters Local 136.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo (Hisch) Borum; two stepdaughters, Brenda Lee Thomas and husband Stephen of Evansville, IN, and Donna Andrews and husband, Stan of Stanberry, MO; two sisters, Nettie Luck and Jean Hardesty; four brothers, Jerry Borum, Cecil Borum, Paul Borum and Dorris Borum; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 10 nieces, two nephews, and great-nieces.

Kimberly Braden

Services for Kimberly Braden, 42, of Clay, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 12, at First General Baptist Church in Clay. The Rev. Tim Cook officiated, with burial in Fraser-Blackwell Cemetery in Clay.

Mrs. Braden died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at her residence.

She was a hair dresser and member of First General Baptist Church in Clay. She was associated with the Boy Scouts since 1994 and she was a scoutmaster during 1999 and 2000.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Braden; a daughter of Brandi Braden of Clay; a son, Brandon Braden of Clay; a stepdaughter, Shannon Farmer of Clay; two stepsons, John Braden Jr. of Chicago, IL, and Jason Braden of Evansville, IN; her parents, Joseph and Patricia Cobb of Greenville; a sister, Deanna Doss of Clay; two brothers, Robert Janis and Brett Hadu, both of Greenville; and four grandchildren.

Vanover Funeral Home in Clay was in charge of arrangements.
