Kenneth W. Storey

Services for Kenneth W. Storey, 67, of Sbree, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Sebree/Poole Chapel. The Rev. David Bumpus officiated, with burial in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree. Masonic services were conducted by Bailey-Onton Lodge #538 at 7 p.m. Monday, April 12. military graveside services were conducted by American Legion Worsham Post #40.

Mr. Storey died at 2:35 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2004, at University of Louisville Medical Center in Louisville.

He was a retired Webster County Sheriff having served from 1994 - 2003. He had been a deputy sheriff since 1980. He had been the owner and operator of Greenfield Furniture in Sebree for 26 years prior to joining the sheriff's department. He was also a member of Sebree General Baptist Church, Bailey-Onton Masonic Lodge #538 in Sebree, the Kentucky Sheriff's Association and a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Nancy Storey; a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Celeste Storey of Sebree; and one grandchild.

Lottie Travis Todd

Graveside services for Lottie Travis Todd, 97, of Shady Grove, KY, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, April 12, in Shady Grove Cemetery. The Rev. John Benton officiated the services.

Mrs. Todd died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2004, at NHC in Madisonville.

She was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Shady Grove.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews.

There was no visitation at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon.

Saira Lynette Douglas

Services for Saira Lynette Douglas, 10, of Henderson, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Grace Baptist Church in Clay. Burial followed in Burr Oak Cemetery in Chicago, IL.

Miss Douglas died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on the Western Kentucky Parkway.

She was in the fifth grade at Spottsville Elementary School. She was also a member of New Covenant Church in Madisonville.

Survivors include her father, Melvin 'Joe Joe' Douglas Jr. of Wheatcroft; a brother, Derrick Devon Douglas of Wheatcroft; her grandparents, the Rev. Mary Ellen Mondaine of Chicago, IL, Melvin Sr. and Mary Douglas of Wheatcroft; and a great-grandmother, Marie Etheridge of Chicago, IL.

Robert Greenwood

Memorial services for Robert (Bobby) Greenwood, 55, of Sebree, were conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon. The Rev. Donald Duncan officiated the services.

Mr. Greenwood died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at his residence.

He was retired from Alcan after 26 years of service and was a member of VFW Auxiliary 114 in Evansville and Local 142 U.S. Steel Workers.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Greenwood; two daughters, Barbara Ann Nutter of Harlan, IA, and Meredith Clark Sutton of Sebree; a son, Scott Greenwood of Louisville; his father, Charles Greenwood of Sebree; a brother, David Greenwood of Kuttawa; a sister, Connie Anderson of Evansville, IN; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Walter Wayne Hart

Graveside services for Walter Wayne Hart, 69, of Nebo, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Mr. Hart died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at his residence.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Peabody Coal Mines.

Survivors include two sons, Alan Wayne Hart of Madisonville and Bryan Hart of California; six sisters, Anna Lois McChestney of Providence, Bonnie Irine Rogers and Carolyn Sue Cunningham, both of Madisonville, Rena Bell Hart of Dallas, OR, Dorothy Evylen Ahlin of Albuquerque, NM, and Doris Jane Tucker of Murfreesboro, TN; two brothers, James Edward Hart and Larry Eugene Hart, both of Nebo; and seven grandchildren.

Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville was in charge of arrangements.

Edith Lucille King Weldon

Services for Edith Lucille King Weldon, 88, of Sebree, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 16, at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Sebree/Poole Chapel.

Mrs. Weldon died at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.

She was a homemaker and member of Sebree United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jackie Lloyd of Sebree; two sons and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Janice Weldon of Slaughters, and James L. Weldon of Sebree; three brothers, Earl King of Henderson, Horace King of Benton, IL, and Glen Ray King of Southington, OH; a sister, Glenda Sallee of Henderson; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mourlan Mae 'Ann' Corum Holloman

Services for Mourlan Mae 'Ann' Corum Holloman, 76, of Madisonville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. The Rev. Bennett Luckiesh officiated, with burial in East Lawn Cemetery near Hanson.

Mrs. Holloman died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2004, at Senior Citizens Nursing Home in Madisonville.

She was a housewife and licensed practical nurse at Hopkins County Hospital and a nursing home in Henderson. She was of General Baptist faith and was past president of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 5480 in Madisonville.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Martin Holloman of Nebo; two daughters, Christina Menser of Nebo and Elizabeth Pirozzoli Conrad of Providence; two sons, Charles Wayne Pirozzoli of Effingham, IL, and Mark Alan Pirozzoli of Topeka, KS; three sisters, Martha Ann Odom of Kuttawa, Wilma Jean Brown of Hanson, and Jane Kay 'Junpie' Brown of Nicholasville, KY; three brothers, Marshall Wayne Corum of Sebree, David Corum of Madisonville, and Eddie Joe Corum of Earlington; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Lillie Fraley Deason

Services for Lillie Fraley Deason, 83, of Corinth, MS, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Magnolia Chapel of Memories in Corinth, MS. The Rev. Briggs King officiated, with burial in Forrest Hill Cemetery South, in Memphis, TN.

Mrs. Deason died Saturday, May 1, 2004, at Tishomingo Hospital in Iuka, MS.

She was a member of Graceland Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include three daughters, Diana Wasson of Abilene, TX, Phyllis Blue of Slaughters, and Debra Frazier of Cookeville, TN; three sons, Gerald Deason of Fredonia, Darryl Deason of Memphis, TN, and Duel Deason of Corinth; a sister, Ruth Markham of Eddyville; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A.O. Richards

Services for A.O. Richards, 90, of Dawson Springs, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville. The Rev. Dennis Mayfield officiated, with burial in Dalton Cemetery in Dalton.

Mr. Richards died at 5 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2004, at his residence.

He was a member of Dalton Baptist Church where he was a deacon and taught the Men's Sunday school for over 20 years. He taught school for 41-1/2 years having begun at Elam School at age 18. He served as principal of Dalton School and West Hopkins High School until he retired in 1979. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Nellie Green Frazer Richards; three daughters, Linda Martin of Dalton, Gayle Davis of Princeton, and Cindy Wright of Dalton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Beatrice V. (Lynn) Gibson

Services for Beatrice V. (Lynn) Gibson, 88, of Sebree, were conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Sebree/Poole Chapel. Dr. Bob Hardison officiated, with burial in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree.

Mrs. Gibson died at 12:55 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Belcher of Boerne, TX; a son, Charles L. Gibson of Evansville, IN; a brother, L.B. Lynn of Sebree; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Donald Edward Belle

Services for Donald Edward Belle, 77, of Providence, were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, May 10, at Simpson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Providence. The Rev. Robert Greenwell officiated, with burial in Cumberland Hill Cemetery in Providence.

Mr. Belle died at 1:55 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

A native of Webster County, he was a member of Simpson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Providence, and was retired from Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center after 17 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joyce Woolfolk Belle of Providence; his mother, Queen Georgia Belle of Providence; four daughters, Donna Allensworth of Madisonville; Reba Lawrence of Annapolis, MD, Myra Belle Scott of Providence, and Leah McKissack of Indianapolis, IN; five sons, Juan Belle and Carlos belle, both of Peoria, IL, Michael Belle, Wayne Belle and Ronnie Belle, all of Providence; 28 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Mason and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Cleo Gentry Nance

Graveside services for Cleo Gentry Nance, 70, of Slaughters, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Onton Cemetery in Onton. The Rev. Joey Murphy officiated the services.

Mrs. Nance died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Jennie Stewart Hospital in Hopkinsville.

She was a Avon representative for 35 years and a homemaker. She was also a member of Slaughters United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, John Mac Nance; a son, Phillip Nance of Slaughters; a sister, Virginia Gentry of Owensboro; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Tompkins Funeral Homes, Slaughters/Hanson Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Carrie Heady

Services for Carrie Heady, 94, of Marion, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Rosebud Church. The Revs. Noble Cobb, Dan Lovell, and Dale Williams officiated, with burial in Rosebud Cemetery.

Mrs. Heady died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Crittenden County Convelescent Center in Marion.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Lacy of Marion and Bobbie Louise Witherspoon of Blackford; three sons, Doug Heady of Marion, Marshall Heady of Clay and Paul Heady of Sturgis; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion was in charge of arrangements.

Marvin Edward Ladd

Services for Marvin Edward Ladd, 86, of Providence, were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence. Burial followed in the Christian Church Cemetery, where U.S. military rites were performed.

Mr. Ladd died at 9:58 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

He was a small business owner and had worked for the State Highway Department. He was a deacon of the First Baptist Church, member of Jaycees, former Providence City Councilman, Disable Veterans Association, and a World War II veteran.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Ladd Zachem of Lexington; a sister, Eula Clem of Truman, AR; his caregiver, Janice Teague of Providence; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nephews.

Donald Ray Morgan

Graveside services for Donald Ray Morgan, 68, of Coiltown, were conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Johnson Island Cemetery near Coiltown.

Mr. Morgan died Wednesday morning, May 5, 2004, at his residence.

He was a retired dragline operator ofr Christian Coal Company. He was also of the Holiness faith.

Survivors include his wife, Regina Morgan; a daughter, Susan Morgan of Providence; three sons, Donnie Morgan of Evansville, IN, Johnny Morgan and Barry Morgan, both of Coiltown; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Melton Funeral Home in Providence was in charge of arrangements.

Steven Wayne Brewington

Services for Steven Wayne Brewington, 56, of Madisonville, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville. The Rev. Mark Eddings officiated, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Mr. Brewington died at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at his residence.

He was employed at Autoliv and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Twomey of Washington, Tamara Brewiongton of Arizona, and Latricia Brewington of Madisonville; three sons, Sean Twomey of Arizona, Jamie Irelan of Providence, and Adam Brewington of Madisonville; his stepfather, C.R. Heineman of Providence; his caregiver, Bernice Brewington of Cross Lanes, WV; a stepson, Brier Kessel of Cross Lanes; a sister, Sandra Burnette of Beach Park, IL; a brother, J.L. Brewington of Lake Villa, IL; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Calvin D. Riggs

Services for Calvin D. Riggs, 79, of Sebree, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Sebree/Poole Chapel. The Rev. David Bumpus officiated, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Clay.

Mr. Riggs died at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree.

A native of Webster County, he was a U.S. Army Paramedic during World War II. He attended college at Murray State College. He later taught science in Farmington, MO, and Mt. Carmel, IL. He received his master's degree in biological science and taught nurses and nursing students until he retired in 1980. He was also a member of Sebree General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Sue Kuykendall Riggs; a daughter, Kathleen Olson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; two sisters, Opal Weikel of Roswell, NM, Joyce Hubbard of Hampton, GA; two brothers, James Riggs of Okeechobee, FL, Charles Riggs of Bowling Green; a sister-in-law, Regina Riggs of Cordova, TN; many nieces and nephews.

John David Love

Services for John David Love, 81, of Slaughters, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 3, at Tompkins Funeral Homes, Slaughters/Hanson Chapel. Bro. Gene Rickard officiated, with burial in Slaughters Cemetery in Slaughters.

Mr. Love died at 11:55 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2004, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

Survivors include his wife Sue (Majors) Love; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Carroll Perdue of Slaughters; three brothers, James Love of Slaughters, Lucian Love of Earlington and Bill Love of Sebree; a sister, Ellaree Stubble of Louisville; and two grandchildren.
