Luella Ruth McFarland, 81, of Kenton Hills, died at 9:50 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Louis John McFarland; sons, Neal McFarland of Taylor Mill and Dennis McFarland of Albany, N.Y.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to Covington Community Center Meals on Wheels, 1008 Lee St., Covington 41011.

James "Mike" Radford, 50, of Bellevue, died at 7:39 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas.

He was a dental technician with Greater Cincinnati Dental Laboratory, Cincinnati.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Moore Radford of Bellevue; sons, Mike Radford Jr. of Bellevue and John Radford of Newport; a daughter, Sherry Radford of Bellevue; a brother, John Radford of Cincinnati; a stepbrother, Jerry of Cincinnati; stepsisters, JoAnn of Indiana, Barbara and Diane, both of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren. Services were this morning at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Claude A. Samuels, 81, of Ft. Mitchell, died at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday at Grant Manor Health Care Center, Williamstown.

Arrangements are pending at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.

George Schoettle, 86, of Winchester, Ohio, died Wednesday in Greenfield, Ohio. He was a master machinist and retired custodial supervisor of Forest Hills School District. He also was a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, Louise Margaret Henn Schoettle, died in 1981.

Survivors include sons, James L. Schoettle of Edgewood and Thomas Culver Schoettle of Greenfield; a daughter, Mary Louise Schoettle Kindle of Winchester, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery Chapel, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to Highland County Crippled Children, in care of NCB Savings Bank 139 S. High St., Hillsboro, OH 45133, in Mr. Schoettle's name. Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home, Winchester, is handling arrangements.

Juanita Wessling, 89, of Highland Heights, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home in Highland Heights. She was a retired co-owner of Wessling Deli, Newport.

Survivors include a son, Clifford R. Wessling Jr. of Hiram, Ga.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Friday at Don Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Cletis L. Hamm, loving father

Cletis L. Hamm was 31 when he moved from Fleming County to Maysville. His generous heart quickly made him a beloved husband, father and member of the community.

He helped me raise my daughters like they were his own," said his wife, Betty Ginn Hamm.

Mr. and Mrs. Hamm had both lost their first spouses, but the love they forged bloomed into a 25-year union.

Mr. Hamm, 77, of Maysville, died Thursday at VA Medical Center, Lexington.

He was a wrapper with Browning Manufacturing, Maysville, for 31 years until he retired in 1982.

The Hamms enjoyed traveling whenever they could, visiting their grown children in North Carolina and Alabama, and vacationing in Florida, Indiana and Tennessee.

Mr. Hamm was a member of Orangeburg Christian Church. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1564, and VFW Post No. 2734, both in Maysville.

He was an Army truck driver in England for 31 months during World War II.

Mrs. Hamm said she will treasure her memories of their long and happy marriage.

"We've had a happy life. No complaints, but I'll sure miss him."

Other survivors include his stepdaughters, Debra K. Arthur and Connie Jo Krasucki, both of Maysville; a stepson, Richard Smith of Mobile, Ala.; sisters, Stella Case of Ripley, Ohio, Margaret Fossitt of Independence, Cecil Housh and Beulah Lynn Linville, both of Maysville, and Hazel Simms of Carlisle; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brell and Son Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will be after 5 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, Flemingsburg.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 1 West McDonald Parkway, Maysville 41056, or American Cancer Society, 7730 U.S. 42, Suite C6, Florence 41042.

Jeff C. Cox, 80, of Owenton, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday at Cobb Home Health Care Center in Owenton. He was a retired McDonnell Douglas Aerospace employee. His wife, Lois Katherine Simcox Cox, died in 1990.

Survivors include sons, Jerry John Cox of Bethel, Ohio, and Melvin D. Cox of Tifton, Ga.; a stepson, Bryan Cox of Tampa, Fla.; daughters, Judy Ann Kyle of Columbus, Ohio, Juanita Marie Pierfederici of Tifton, Ga., and Janet E. McElroy of Riverdale, Ga.; brothers, Henley Cox of Baltimore, William Cox of Clinton, Tenn., and Lester Cox of Crossville, Tenn.; a sister, Geneva Wyatt of DeSoto, Texas ; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Blount-Curry and Roel Funeral Home, Tampa, is handling arrangements. McDonald Funeral Home, Owenton, is handling local arrangements.

Steven A. Greek, 50, of Walton, formerly of Cincinnati, died Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. at University Hospital in Cincinnati from complications of a liver transplant. He was employed for 28 years at Hill & Griffith Company, Cincinnati.

He was a member of the Walton United Methodist Church, the Cincinnati Northern Model Railroad Club, Cesarea-Harmony Masonic Lodge #2, Cincinnati, and the Tri-State Liver Transplant Support Group.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Blance Roberts Greek of Walton; stepsons; Dan Lipscomb of Florence, and Gabriel Lipscomb of Walton; brothers, David Greek of Cincinnati and Gordon Greek of Midway, and six grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be Sunday at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Hughes Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Tri-State Liver Transplant Support Group.

Logan Michael Ipock, 1 day, of Williamstown, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital South, Edgewood.

Survivors include his parents, Brandy Hisle of Williamstown and Michael Ipock of Florence; a sister, Kristin Hisle of Williamstown; and grandparents, Richard and Sharon Ipock of Dry Ridge, Cheryl Hisle of Williamstown and Wayne Hisle of Cordova.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Short Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will begin there at noon Saturday. Burial will be in Short Creek Cemetery. Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, is handling arrangements.

Travis Jackson, 67, of Cincinnati, formerly of Covington, died Thursday at his home. He was a former employee of the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Covington.

Survivors include a son, Mayico Jackson of Cincinnati; a sister, Evelyn Jackson of Andalusia, Ala., and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jones & Simpson Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will be there from noon until the time of service. Burial will be in Linden Grove Cemetery, Covington.

Junita Losey, 63, of Alexandria, died at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights. She was a teacher with Campbell County Schools, having taught more than 30 years at Alexandria Elementary School.

Survivors include a cousin, Louise Harrison of Alexandria; and an uncle, Joseph Losey of Burlington, Iowa.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.
