Donna Blackburn

Donna Kay Blackburn, 49, of Belfry, Kentucky, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 25, 2003, at the residence of her sister, Margaret Roberts of Williamson.

Arrangements are incomplete but visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday at Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, Kentucky

Harrison Francis Jr.

Harrison Francis Jr., 56, of Jacksonville Fla., formerly of Hatfield, Kentucky, died Sept. 2, 2003, at Jacksonville, Fla.

Born Oct. 18, 1946 at William-son, he was a son of Ruby Run-yon Francis of Hatfield and the late Harrison Francis Sr.

He was also proceeded in death by a son, Steven Francis

He was a boss for Atlantic Marine, Inc., at the ship yard in Jacksonville, a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam war, a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, and Nassau No. 2352.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by sons, Kevin Francis of Fernadina, Fla., Brent (Debbie) Francis of Fernadina, and Jerry Francis of Florida; sisters, Ann Wilson of Lexington, Kentucky, Rose Greene of Vermillion, Ohio, Bonnie Bosco of Vermillion, Ohio, Janet Barnett of Bradenton, Fla., and Joan Wilhite of Lexington; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Sept. 8, 2003, at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Fla., with Pastor Richard Hodges officiating. Burial followed in the Green Pine cemetery with military honors in Yulee, Fla.

George Dotson

George Dotson, 69, of Ransom, Kentucky, died on Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the Appala-chian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky

He was born on Jan. 27, 1934, in Ransom, a son of the late Bob and Vicie Sullivan Dotson. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Adam Bruce Dotson.

Mr. Dotson is survived by his wife, Myrtle Hatfield Dotson; one son, George Dotson Jr. of Ransom; two daughters, Maxine Quesen-berry of Silver Springs, Fla. and Beverly May of Ransom; five brothers, James Dotson of Pikeville, Kentucky, Floyd Dotson of Stone, Kentucky, Lee Dotson, Belfry, Kentucky, Ralph Dotson of Branchland, W.Va., Billy Ray Dotson of Toler, Kentucky; one sister, Lois Dotson Hatfield of South Williamson, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Shannon Dot-son of Clinton, Tenn., and Nikita Nicole Dotson and William Bruce Dotson, both of Turkey Creek, Kentucky; and one great grandchild, Mikayla Sha Dotson of Clinton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 8, at the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church in Ransom with the Rev. Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in the Bluesprings cemetery in Ransom.

Pallbearers will be Mike Dotson, Todd Dotson, Keith Dotson, Johnny Dotson, Shannon Dotson, William Bruce Dotson, Lee Dotson Jr. and Frankie Moon.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Sunday night at the church. Special services will begin at 7 p.m. with Lee Dotson Jr., Lonnie Francis, Emery Varney and Larry Hubbard.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.

Margaret Moore

Margaret "Love" Cather Moore, 77, of Belfry, Kentucky, died on Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the Logan (W.Va.) Region-al Medical Center.

She was born on April 13, 1926, in Hardy, Kentucky, to the late Lester Hall Cather Sr. and Edna Scott Cather. Ms. Moore enjoyed a successful careet in nursing and retired from the Appalachian Re-gional Hospital in 1990 at which time she became an active member of the hospital's Ladies Auxillary. She was a member of the Belfry United Methodist Church, Women of the Church, and a board member of the Ephriam McDowell Foundation. She was head of the United Funds and contributed time and funds to numerous charities for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Hall Cather Jr.

She is survived by one son, William Scott Moore of Belfry; one daughter, Michelle Love Thorn; one brother, William "Bill" Cather of St. Claire, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Kristy Thorn of Washington, D.C., Scott Thorn of Fairbanks, Alaska; Courtney Jordan of Pound, Va., and Zachary Moore of Pound; two great grandchildren, Juliana Love Jordan and Noah Zachary Moore, both of Pound; 11 nieces and newphews, their families; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at the Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry with the Revs. Mike Stanley and Harless Ray officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens mausoleum in Huddy, Kentucky

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers

Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home.

Lillian Beverly

Lillian Beverly, 82, of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, died on Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1921, in Belfry, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Millard and Sally Williamson Blackburn. She was a homemaker and of the Old Regular Baptish faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Beverly; three sisters, Jessie Browning, Joanne Blackburn and Bonnie Finley; and two brothers, Clarence Blackburn and Millard Blackburn Jr.

She is survived by one son Benjamin Beverly of William-son; three daughters, Kathy (Mike) Birkelbach of Roanoke, Va., Charlotte (Bill) Gainey of Charleston, S.C., and Peggy (Duffy) Reed of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Charles Black-burn of Williamson and Ronald Blackburn of Simp-sonville, S.C.; one sister, Betty Heaton, Brandenton, Fla.; six grandchildren, Chantel Brooks of Atlanta, Ga., Michael Brooks of Charleston, S.C., Jordon Reed of Denver, Colo., Brandon Beverly of William-son, Ryan and Paige Birkel-bach of Roanoke; and one great grandchild, Evan Atria Beverly of Louisville, Kentucky

Funeral services for Mrs. Beverly will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at the Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry with Willie Blackburn officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, Kentucky

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 8, at the funeral home.

Curtis Little

Curtis Eugene "Gene" Little, 74, of Hellier, Kentucky, died on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at the Pikeville (Kentucky) Methodist Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Johnson Memorial Park in Pikeville, Kentucky

Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home.

Mary Ellen West
Mary Ellen West, 72, of Pinsonfork, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2003, at Appalachian Regional Hospi-tal, South Williamson, Kentucky

Born September 9, 1930, in McAndrews, Kentucky, to the late William Stump and Lona Ethel Stump, she was a homemaker and a member of Octavia Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald West; grandson, Glen Edward Chapman; sisters, Amanda Doyle and Annie May; and husband, Rev. Edgar West.

Surviving are her sons, Charles E. (Barbara) West of McAndrews, Kentucky, Billy D. West of Rockhouse, Kentucky, Donald (Dorothy) West of McVeigh, Kentucky, and Russell (Melinda) West of McVeigh, Kentucky; daughters, Brenda C. (Andrew) Rose of McVeigh, Kentucky, Linda Gail ( Danny) Chapman of Huddy, Kentucky, Emily Ball of Morehead, Kentucky, Joyce M. (Michael) Coleman of Darlington, SC, Angela E. West of McVeigh, Kentucky, Melissa Ann (Brian) Van Dyke of Pounding Mill, Va.; brother, Offie Stump of Michigan; sister, Bitty Bostic of Vine Grove, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2003, 2 p.m., at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Buddy Kendrick, Gerria Reynolds and Franklin Mounts officiating. Burial will follow at Burning Fork cemetery, Meta, Kentucky

Pallbearers include Billy West, Charles West, Donald West, Russell West, Randall West, Jeremy Auburn, Glenn Cox and Paul Rose. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Rose, Eric Ball, Michael Coleman, Manuel Ball and Thurman M. Ball.

Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home with special services both nights at 7 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, Kentucky

Irene Wright Bartley
Irene Wright Bartley, 79, of Belcher, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2003, at her home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2003, 11 a.m., at Bailey Funeral Home with burial following at the Bartley Family cemetery, Belcher, Kentucky

Visitation will be held Monday, 6 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Inc.

Eugene Stiltner
Eugene Stiltner, 57, of Phelps, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at his home.

Born November 29, 1945, in Grundy, Va., to the late Ira Stiltner and Sarah Stumbo Stiltner, he was a retired coal miner. Mr. Stiltner was of the Freewill Baptist faith.

In addition this parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Stiltner and one sister, Della Rae Stiltner. He is also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Fred and Margaret Stiltner and maternal grandparents Ben and Virginia Stumbo.

Surviving are his brothers, Landon Stiltner, Alex "Ellie" Stiltner and Glen Stiltner, all of Phelps, Kentucky; and sisters, Margie Jackson of Williamson, W. Va., Pauline (Roy) Coleman of Vansant, Va., Irene "Flo" (Otis) Hagerman of Jolo, W. Va.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 19, 2003, 10 a.m., at Phelps Funeral Services. Burial will follow at Stiltner Family cemetery at Shades Branch in Phelps, Kentucky Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin Thursday, September 18, 2003, at the chapel, at 5 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phelps Funeral Service at Phelps, Kentucky

Anthony O. Williams
Anthony O. Williams, 23, of Hellier, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2003, at Ashcamp, Kentucky

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2003, at noon, at Allegheny Freewill Baptist Church, Hellier, Kentucky with burial following in Robinson cemetery, Hellier, Kentucky

Visitation will be held at the church after 6 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Inc.

Florence Harmon
Florence Virginia Harmon, 87, of Inez, Kentucky, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at her home.

She was a homemaker.

Born Oct. 10, 1914 in Martin County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Will and Carola (Hensley) Horn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Eliza Harmon, and one son, Bill Harmon.

Survivors include three sons, C. Edward Harmon of Toledo, Ohio, Lloyd Harmon of Waverly, Ohio, and Elza Harmon of Greenwood, Ind.; two daughters, Mary McMasters and Ida Bayer, both of Inez; two brothers, Lloyd Horn of Irving, Tenn., and Hillmon Ray Horn of London, Ohio; seven sisters, Mary Jane Fisher of Cincinnati, Ohio, Zetta Endicott of Columbus, Ohio, Shirley Thomas of San Antonio, Texas, Armelda Eppler of Cincinnati, Ohio, Essie Stein of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lucy Montemurrow of Plano, Texas, and Thelma Jean Cremons Cannol of Winchester, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez (Kentucky) Chapel, with Paul Schmidt, Lonnie Ratliff and Maurice Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmon cemetery, Inez.

Arrangements are under the direction of Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home.

Virginia Adkins
Virginia Adkins, 72, of Phyllis, Kentucky, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at Pikeville (Kentucky) Methodist Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Grapevine Pentecostal Church, Phyllis, Kentucky

Irma Collinsworth
Irma Warf Collinsworth of McAndrews, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2002. She has been a resident of Skilled Nursing Facility since May 2, 2002. She was 84 years of age and a member of Octavia Freewill Baptist Church of McAndrews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Sr. and Hattie Harris Warf; five brothers, Henry Jr., Fred, Grat, Bennie and Andrew Warf; sisters Oma, Norman and Edith O'Brien; and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her loving daughter Elizabeth (Libby) Collinsworth of Williamson, W.Va.; two very special grandchildren, Donnie A. Mahon of Edgarton, W.Va., and Melissa D. (Billy) Smith of Lexington, Kentucky Also her stepchildren, Bonnie K. Curtis of Casper, Wyoming, Gary D. and Brent N. Collinsworth of Arizona; seven step-grandchildren and two special step-great-grandchildren, Brandon Tyler Hackney and Elijah Christian Church of McAndrews, Kentucky; two sisters, Beulah Farley of Piedmont, S.C., and Mildred Cassidy of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 at the Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Kentucky, with ministers of the Octavia Freewill Baptist Church and Church of God in Jesus Name, Phelps, Kentucky, officiating.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday evening at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with special services at 7 p.m. each evening.

Burial will follow in the Harris cemetery, Thacker, West Virginia.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Kentucky

Clara Hayes
Clara Nell Croaff Hayes, 57, of Phelps, Kentucky, died Monday, June 3, 2002 at Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born May 30, 1945 in Glen Alum, she was a daughter of the late William Stewart and Ocie Croaff.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Myrtle Parker, Virginia Hall and Ruth Murphy; brother Billy Croaff; and several infant siblings.

Mrs. Hayes was a homemaker and of the Apostolic faith.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Hayes of Phelps; one son, Booney Martin Hayes of Phelps; daughters Kristy (Bryan) Chapman of Hardy, Kentucky, and Pepper (Keith) Thacker of Pikeville, Kentucky; brothers Larry (Christine) Croaff and Eddie (Anna) Croaff, both of Edgarton; and a sister, Joyce (Darryl) Ratliff of Edgarton. She was also anticipating the arrival of her first grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002 at the Phelps Church of God in Jesus Name with the Rev. Opie Harris officiating.

Burial will follow in the Blackberry cemetery, Blackberry City.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin Tuesday at the church at 6 p.m. with services nightly beginning at 7 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phelps Funeral Services.
