Patricia Lowe
Patricia Ann (Chapman) Lowe, 57, of Huddy, Kentucky, died Thursday, September 23, 2004, at her residence.
She was born August 21, 1947, to the late Fid Chapman and Annie (Curry) Chapman.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jonah Lee Chapman.
She was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist faith for 30 years.
She is survived by husband, William Kenneth Lowe of Huddy, Kentucky; son, Kenneth Ray Lowe of Huddy, Kentucky; and a daughter, Devonna "Dee Dee" (Leonard) West of McAndrews, Kentucky; brothers, Ray Chapman of Williamson, W.Va., Kenneth "Buck" Chapman of Ransom, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Justin Ray Lowe, (whom she raised of the home), Cody Shane West of McAndrews, Kentucky, Jason Lowe of McVeigh, Kentucky, Jeremy, Jonathan, Jocelyn and Jillenna Lowe of Delbarton, W.Va, ; and a very special uncle, Cleve "Dude" Chapman of Huddy, Kentucky
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 26, 2004, at Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, Kentucky, with Roger Blackburn, Buddy Kendrick and Mickey Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith cemetery at Sidney, Kentucky
Pallbearers will be Leonard West, Jason Workman, Jacob Workman, Paul West, Matt Thacker, and Kenneth E. Chapman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Lowe, Earl Williamson, Michael Workman, Cecil Hunt, Dr. Horn, Dr. Gomez, Howard Keith Hall, Fuzzy Keesee and Dr. Daniel Stamper.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday night at the funeral home with special services both nights at 7 p.m.

Orman Cline
Orman (Blue) Cline, 82, of Debord, Kentucky, passed away Monday, August 30, 2004, at Kings Daughters Medical Center.
Born March 10, 1922, in Martin County, Kentucky, to the late Nathan Cline and Onokie (Porter) Cline, he was a logger and owned Pony Mine. He was also employed by Chrysler Corp., owned a skating rink and was a school bus driver.
Surviving are his son, Orman Doyle (Kelly) Mills of Clearwater, Fla.; and grandson, Logan Mills, of Clearwater, Fla.; brother, C.C. (Shirley) Cline of Oklahoma City, Okl.; and sisters, Flossie Sis (Hiram) Fisher of Akron, Ohio and Nadine (Charley) Moore of Chuckey, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2004, 11 a.m., at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky, with Rev. Billy Jo Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at Cline and Porter cemetery, Inez, Kentucky
Visitation will be held at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Inez, Kentucky, on Wednesday, after 6 p.m.

Tommy Maynard
Tommy Dale Maynard, 50, of Ransom, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2004, at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Kentucky
Born December 8, 1953, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to the late Rell Maynard and Mary Young Maynard, he was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA. He was a member of Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 32 wonderful years, Eva Gail Maynard; one son, Tommy Lee (Alice) Maynard of Ransom, Kentucky; two daughters, LaDonna (Emery "EMO") Lewis of Ransom, Kentucky and Remaine Maynard of Ransom, Kentucky; mother-in-law, Polly Smith Crawford of Ransom, Kentucky; three brothers, Virgil (Leona) Maynard of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, Clifford (Diane) Maynard of Turkey Creek, Kentucky and Condor (Violet) Maynard of Turkey Creek, Kentucky; two sisters, Nancy Yates of Huddy, Kentucky and Rita Ann Pinson of Rockhouse, Kentucky; one grandson, Stephanie "Baby Doll" Maynard; two step granddaughters, Jeanetta and Lyndsey Horn of Ransom, Kentucky; one step grandson, Andrew Lewis of Thacker, W.Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, 2004, 1 p.m., at Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church with Emery Varney officiating. Burial will follow at Family cemetery, Ransom, Kentucky Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Rogers Funeral Home with special services both nights at 7 p.m.

Irene Simpkins
Irene Simpkins, 74, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of South Williamson, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004.
She had resided the past 12 years in Florida.
She is survived by her son, Bobby F. Simpkins of Franklin, N.C.; one daughter, Sherri Napier of Valrico, Fla.; five brothers, Charles Looney of Sarasota, Fla., Paul Looney of Beech Creek; Jerry Looney of Goody, Kentucky, Earnest Looney of Daytn, Ohio, and Johnny Looney of Lansing, Mich.; two sisters, Ethel Burgett of Forrest Hills, Kentucky, and Esther Gibson of Williamson; grandchildren, Eric and Alexa Napier and great-grandchild, Dylan.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home.
Serenity Meadows Funeral Home of Riverview, Fla. was in charge of arrangements.
Hazel Hickman
Hazel O'Brien Hickman, 98, of Phelps, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord July 19, 2004, at her home in the loving care of her family.
Born February 8, 1906, in Louisa, Kentucky, to the late Alonzo O'Brien and Laura Beasley O'Brien, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Hickman was of the Apostolic faith and a member of the Church of God in Jesus' Name at Phelps, Kentucky
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John Hickman; three sons, Charles O'Brien, Teddy Jack O'Brien and James Edward O'Brien; and seven brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her sons Doris Hickman (Phyllis) of Bean Station, Tenn. and J.D. Hickman (Justine) of Phelps, Kentucky; daughters, Gearl McCoy (Herman) of Phelps, Kentucky, Janice Archer of Morristown, Tenn., Laura Dotson (Orville "Square") of Bean Station, Tenn. and Ede Stump (Daris) of Bean Station, Tenn.; sister, Marie Hunt of Phelps, Kentucky; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2004, 12 noon, at Church of God in Jesus' Name at Phelps, Kentucky, with Rev. Opie Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Billy Dotson cemetery at Phelps, Kentucky Grandchildren, family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at the church at 6 p.m. with services nightly at 7 p.m.

Shannon Layne, 70, of Garden Village, Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 19, 2004, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born February 12, 1934, in Knott County, Kentucky, to the late Frank Click and Virgie Huff Click.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2004, 1 p.m., at Justice Funeral Home with E. Justice officiating.
Visitation will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. for family and at 6 p.m. for friends at the funeral home.
Arnold Brewer
Arnold J. Brewer, 72, of Palmetto, Fla., formerly of Beauty, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Bay Pines VA Hospital.
Born September 8, 1931, in Martin County, Kentucky to the late Jesse and Pricie Copley Brewer, he was a field service engineer for Foxboro Corporation.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy N. Brewer; son, John Propper of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Pamela Propper of Minneapolis, Min.; brothers and sisters, Gladys Whitt of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Zelda Hensley of Beauty, Kentucky, Jesse Brewer Jr. of Columbus, Ohio and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Betty Booth of Nicholasville, Kentucky; Delo Brewer of Michigan, and John Brewer of Beauty, Kentucky
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2004, 10 a.m., at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, with Jim Harris officiating. Burial will follow at the Perry cemetery, Beauty, Kentucky

Christine Artis
Christine Artis, 83, of Williamson, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Skilled Nursing Facility of Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky
She was born Nov. 25, 1920, at Bessemer, Ala., a daughter of the late Sam and Lula Richardson Tanyhill.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Artis was a member of Christ Temple Church for approximately 60 years where she served as church secretary for a number of years.
Survivors include her husband, DeKalb Artis of Williamson; four children, Alma and Carole of Cleveland, Ohio, George Sr. (Robin) and Cheryl of Williamson; one brother, David Tanyhill of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Willie Mae Johnson of Chicago, IL, Lillie Pearl Lee of Columbus, Ohio, and Hazel Harris of Williamson; special niece, Cecilia Wright of Huddy, Kentucky; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Christ Temple Church with Bishop John M. Hairston officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Viewing with the Saints and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until noon, Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the church. any remarks will be made at this time.

Nathaniel Gratt Stanley, 18, of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, went to meet Jesus Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, W.Va.
Born April 24, 1986, in Pikeville, Kentucky, to James A. Stanley and Yvonne L. Stanley of Turkey Creek, Kentucky
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Clyde Stanley; maternal grandmother, Eva Sartin Lowe; sister, Elizabeth A. Stanley; and special aunt, Dollie Mae Lowe.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers, Joseph Stanley of Hardy, Kentucky and Richard (Mary) Stanley of Rawl, W.Va.; sister, Eva (Mike) Charles of Burnwell, Kentucky; paternal grandmother, Ada Stanley of Mingo Manor Nursing Home, Williamson, W.Va.; maternal grandfather, Gratt Lowe of Turkey Creek, Kentucky; three nieces; two nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2004, 11 a.m., at Turkey Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy D. Stanley officiating. Burial will follow at Lowe Family cemetery, Turkey Creek, Kentucky Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Rosa Sequeira, 89, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at her daughter's residence. She was formerly of Huddy, Kentucky
She was preceded in death by her husband, Avilino; two daughters, Rose Freeman and Florence Sequeira; granddaughter, Angie Ouintos; two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Sequeira is survived by children, Avilino (June) Sequeira, Georgina Hobbs, Eleanor (John) Oxendine, Delores (Fred) Henson, Geraldine Sequeira, Jerome (Marilyn) Sequeira; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Vicy M. Williams, 85, of McCarr, Kentucky, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Skilled Nursing Facility of Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky
She was born July 25, 1919, in Pike County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Kenny and Clemmie Coleman Smith.
Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by her husband, James V. Williams; two brothers and four sisters.
She was a former cook at Justice Drive-In and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, James Tommy Bevins and Larry Bevins, both of McCarr; one daughter, Patsy Davenport of Delaware, Ohio; one sister, Bonnie Duemig of Clearwater, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky, with ministers Mike Smith, Buddy Kendrick and Lonnie Francis officiating.
Burial will follow in Smith cemetery at Ransom, Kentucky
